For crazy reasons, I need to load an external swf (desktop application, wrapped in SWFStudio) which in turn loads an external video using the Video() class, NetStream etc.The external swf works fine on it's own, but when loaded into a "parent" clip the video will not play. There are no errors being thrown
View 1 RepliesI suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.
View 7 RepliesI make my base swf in which I load external swf's. In my base swf I have mp3 player. Everything works fine until I need to load external Video gallery or mmedija.swf. In video gallery I have

SoundMixer.stopAll();
to stop my mp3 player sounds and play video files.... But then when load some other files I want to stop playing video files and restart mp3 player.

I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
I have loaded an external video with playback component in Flash CS4.
Now the question is do I need to add streaming script or not?
I have imported an .mp4 video into Flash using the option "Load external video with playback component." It creates a swf file which references the mp4 file. I chose this option because the video is large. I have used the published html code and it is working perfectly. I am just concerned that I might require other formats to ensure everyone can view it. The problem I have is when a video is playing and you press another link in the main SWF the other section loads but the video keeps playing in the background, eventhough every time a load a new external SWF I use the unload() method to unload the previous SWF.

I have a problem, i am loading swf file which has video in it in separate swf. When i export this swf with video video plays just fine but when using Loader class to load that swf into parent swf video isn't showing up.

I have a cue point in the video about half way through, that triggers a seperate MovieClip (on the Parent timeline). This worked perfectly until I removed the Parent MovieClip, and made it an External SWF. Now the cue point triggers this in the Output window:

However, when I remove it the video's audio keeps playing. The only other solution if I can't figure it out is rebuilding the site in AS2... needless to say I really really want to try and avoid that

I am trying to figure out how to stream video from Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder on an outside computer, back into the FMS at our station. I have no idea what the FMS URL is that I need to plug in to the Flash Media Live Encoder in order to reach the FMS back at our station.
Do I need to have something housed on an ftp site? We have a website and I can put whatever I need to there if that is indeed what I need to do. Not sure what the heck I'm doing here, but I'd LOVE to figure it out. I know it's not a lot to go on,
I was given an assignment to create and external video playlist using an xml file. I have never used flash before, know nothing about encoding and all that was given to the class in terms of instuctions was a short tutorial that has no resources for troubleshooting. We were given everything; the external playlist file equipped with the video skin, the video list, actionscript that loads the xml and the xml file. We were told that all we need to do is change the names of the videos in the xml file to match the names of our videos. I did that. We were also told we needed to "name target", but we were not informed on how to do this. I have tried everything, visited every tutorial and I cannot figure out how to get this damn thing to work. I cannot even get flash to load the xml file.

I tried placing the full address of the xml file in, along with the file address of the videos, but again it did nothing. Everything is located in the same file, and the videos in a sub file in that file. I tried taking out the sub file and putting all the videos in the same file, but it did nothing.
I would like to assign AS to a button, so when mouse clicks on that button,external Quick Time video file would open in a new window. Is it gotoAndPlay? Or getURL?What would be the correct AS?

This opens up the page with with my video player embedded in it. The player is just a simple one that I make using Adobe Flash CS4, at the moment it's just a stage with the video holder(named Movie_mc) on it. Once I sort out how to play different files I'll add all the controls. I've been trying to work out how to the the player what file to play, I've read so much that my brain has burnt out. View 7 RepliesI have successfully created a mock of the FLVPlayback component on frame1 with a button that advances to frame 2 where the FLV actually starts playing. This allows me to use still image MCs and copy that prevents an FLV that is not on autoplay from looking like a blank black screen. [URL]I would also like to have messaging at the end of the video encouraging actions such as attending an event or calling or clicking. Often this would include still images and or a logo. I tried putting the instance of the FLVPlayback in an MC called mcVideo with an extra frame on that MCs timeline that displays the ending art and action copy. But no matter what I try I see nothing but a stopped video at the end of my Flash movie. I keep thinking that after the nested video MC plays if I could only get the timeline to advance to one more frame I could do this. Am I going to have to create a cue point and then have it go to the frame that displays the ending copy?
View 1 RepliesI have built a page in dreamweaver. everything is showing up as it should, but I currently have 3 problems
1. I have a .flv loaded into a flash file and that .swf loaded into my dreamweaver file. It shows up when I preview the file in dreamweaver but not when I load the file. Why does it not show up when I push the site live? I have all of the assets loaded.
2. I have created a .swf that loads images externally. The .swf shows when I load it, but the external imagery are not showing up when I push the page live.
3. I have all of my links set to one color, but for some reason they are all showing up blue.
I pulled the flvplayback component into my library and got the video playback working loading an external FLV in.
Now I want that code in an external class, the problems I am getting with the video and video events

How do I import the video component into my external class
I have embedded a flv video into my timeline, it uses the flv playback component to play and the SteelExternalAll.swf skin. I would like to control this flv using buttons that I have created that are postioned next to the video player. Ideally, these buttons would be thumbnails, similar to chapter thumbnails on DVDs and would serve a very similar function. As these thumbnail buttons are always present, I want them to change while the movie plays, I think a border around the currently playing would suffice.
The video is nearly 3 mins long, I have made cue points from Sorenson Squeeze.
I have a menu and every time a user clicks a button it takes him to a jey frame where there is a external movie playing. but if he clicks on the menu again it takes him to the other movie but the first movie audio dosen't stop.So here are my two doubts:Is there anyway that I can control my external movie via AS so I can Pause and Play it?

1. How do I stop the video and it removed (with the shutdown sound)
2. How do I upload another FLV file in the same embedded video (I have separate buttons for each FLV file) and also remove previous FLV file

I am a complete novice when it comes to flash and web design in general. I have purchased a flash template [URL] which I have been able to customise to my liking for a small production company. I am now completely stuck when it comes to integrating videos within the site.
I understand that I need to have an Xml playlist and some action script that references the videos to the player, but I have no clue on what to do.
I am looking to have a video begin as soon as the site loads and then have the buttons on the orange bar allow the user to navigate between other flv files. I would possibly be interested in including firther links on the video samples page.
