ActionScript 2.0 :: Video Not Loading/external Imagery?
Jun 1, 2008
I have built a page in dreamweaver. everything is showing up as it should, but I currently have 3 problems
1. I have a .flv loaded into a flash file and that .swf loaded into my dreamweaver file. It shows up when I preview the file in dreamweaver but not when I load the file. Why does it not show up when I push the site live? I have all of the assets loaded.
2. I have created a .swf that loads images externally. The .swf shows when I load it, but the external imagery are not showing up when I push the page live.
3. I have all of my links set to one color, but for some reason they are all showing up blue.
I need to load a swf file, which is video player and video. The swf loads but the video contained in it does not play and the video controls are dead too. What do I need to do to load a swf containing a flv video so the video plays?
I have a fla file connected by class to an external as file. Here is the external as file I am using:
This opens up the page with with my video player embedded in it. The player is just a simple one that I make using Adobe Flash CS4, at the moment it's just a stage with the video holder(named Movie_mc) on it. Once I sort out how to play different files I'll add all the controls. I've been trying to work out how to the the player what file to play, I've read so much that my brain has burnt out. My latest try was try to use the following
Code: Select all<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> var moviefile = new Object(); var queryString = getQueryString(); if(queryString['f']){
Basically I'm trying to come up with how to load an external movie located in the same folder as the flash file at various points of an SWF, but I'm not sure if this can be done.I've managed to load it using the following code (at frame 203 for example),
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; var connection:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); var stream:NetStream; var video:Video = new Video(1280,720); var metaObj:Object = new Object();
[code]....
- The problem with this is unless i put stop(); in the Script it keeps repeating the swf from the start.Is there a way I can load this movie, stop the swf then continue the swf from that point after the movie has finished?
I'm having some resizing/full-screen difficulty with loading an external quiz swf into a video player swf. What's happening is that, when the quiz swf is first loaded into the video player, the size of the loaded swf has the correct dimensions and aspect ratio. That part is fine, but as soon as I try to fullscreen or resize the video player (using listeners with stage dimensions) the external quiz swf changes dimensions on me and looks vertically squished and smaller.
I've talked to other people about this issue, and they're telling me that this issue is occuring because the quiz swf contains elements outside of the stage. These hidden elements are supposedly giving the video player "incorrect" dimensions. Is this really the case? Is there any other solution other than fitting any hidden elements within the quiz swf within the stage? And if this is the only solution, then why on initial load does the quiz swf show up properly?
Im having issues with the loading external video method in acitonscript 3.0 book by todd perkin. The issue is about the lesson on page 308 in ch 11.

This is the only thing that crashing my site. The load external video methods nice but if I cant make practical use of it, its useless. Any actionscript gurus out there know a solution to fix this problem?
I have masked the video clip. The masked clip is working fine. But the Actionscript 3, which contains 2 more SWF external movie clips not loading those files. Once I remove the mask they start working.
I'm trying to create a flash application which displayes 20 locations on a U.S map. Right now I have a satellite image of the U.S, and if you click on a location it zooms and you see a close up. I am achieving this effect by playing a short flv video captured from google earth. The first frame is identical to the map image, then it rapidly zooms in (about 1 second) to the location, the last frame is the same as the satellite imagery of the location.
It looks pretty good, but each zoom video is 1 to 2mb to achieve video quality which matches the satellite imagery and looks good with such extreme movement. The problem is the flash presentation is too large with all the videos, can I achieve the same affect with images? Something like a deep zoom effect? Is an image zoom technique practical considering I'm zooming into the whole country image way beyond a single pixel of the image all the way down to satellite imagery? it doesn't have to be in flash, but I can't use the Google Maps API because it has to work offline.
I came across this tutorial. [URL]. I wish to expand it into a xml loaded gallery. I thought simply replacing a simple name would work (changing the pic_mc in the as to the name of the MC I use to load my xml images. however, it doesn't work. Infact in cocks up my whole script, and it wont run the xml images any more. I am not on the level to write a code myself as shown in the tutorial i linked, and so I only partially understand it (this I assume to be the position many of us are in) so its hard for me to really adjust it. Heres the basic document I am trying to cross it with [URL].

I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.
I make my base swf in which I load external swf's. In my base swf I have mp3 player. Everything works fine until I need to load external Video gallery or mmedija.swf. In video gallery I have
I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
I have a movieclip clip that plays when the movie starts, the movieclip is a visual assets that show's that the application is loading some information but it's not showing any loading progress, just playing while the assets are loaded.I created a for loop that will load the assets using a simple loader, and then when the object is loaded the application push the object to an array.Problem is that when the loading starts all the animation that i have on screen stops until the loading is finished.The whole point is that the animation will play while it's loading.
I spent almost a week trying to figure out how to unload a currently loaded swf using its button and loading a new swf... I have three files, a main.fla, file1.fla and file2.fla. In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. If i will click the "unload" button in the file1.swf, I would like the main.fla to unload the file1.swf and load the other file, file2.swf. Here is the code to load the file1.swf:
[FMX] I am having trouble loading an XML file on an external server into my flash movie when it is uploaded. The data loads in fine when the flash file is on my local computer with the xml file on a server. As soon as the flash file is uploaded the XML data will not load in.
I used to do this fine with AS2 and now i'm struggling to get it to work in AS3.my code is as follows:
PW1.addEventListener( MouseEvent.CLICK,loader1 ); //==================== PS function ============================================= var ldr:Loader = new Loader();
I have created a main "site.swf" file that loads a "default.swf" file into a container after a preloader. On this default.swf file I have buttons that needs to load new external SWF files in its place in the container. All of the external SWFs contain buttons and navigations that will also call up other external SWFs into this container. So, I would like to know how to program each button (some are movieclips as buttons) to unload itself and load the respective SWF into the container (eg. AboutUsButton to call up aboutus.swf into the container). I do not have a main navigation on the site.swf file bacause the navigation changes on each SWF that needs to be loaded into the container.
(for this code, check the mcBandPreloader in de .fla file)
Code: var imageLoader:Loader; var RespJpeg:String = "images/arch1Proj.jpg" function loadImage(url:String):void {

Here the problem is that I can't type html in my external txt file. (I did checked the html button in Dynamic Text Properties. What am I doing wrong here?
I'm loading a external swf into a movie everything is fine with that. The only problem is that its loading only a part of it. Does anybody know why? Also, this swf is a mp3 player with streaming. The streaming part works but the playback doesn't.If i start only the mp3 player by itself it's working.here is the fla for the player
I'm trying to load a SWF movie into a target movieclip called blankmc. The SWF movie is loaded from an absolute URL (eg. [URL]/img/20042005113934movie3.swf ) My Loading Progress code fails to detect the SWF file size. However the same code works perfectly for a JPG! Essentially the .getBytesLoaded() and .getBytesTotal fail to work. Why is this and how can I get it to work for loading SWFs?
Specifically, I am building a flash page that loads external swf files and inside some of the external swf files, I would like to add audio and flash video (flv) streaming from the Flaash Media Server. In some of the external swf files, (using a FLVPlayback component) when you press a button on the main timeline to unload the current playing swf the audio/video continues to play after loading the new external swf file.So I believe that my approach is all wrong and I should be working to dynamically load the .mp3 and.flvs in the external swf ... my questiion is how to unload those assets when loading the new external swf
Lets say I have Main.swf and sub.swf, and I wanna load sub when I press a button from Main, but sub.swf has its own external class file attached, so here is the problem, when I load sub using loader class and I would get this message from the output panel:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at subScript()
seems loader class can not access sub.swf's external class when sub is being loaded.
Lets say I have subgallery.swf file that loads jpeg images. And I have gallery.swf file that loads subgallery.swf.The jpeg images and both swf files are in the same folder.When I test gallery.swf it loads subgallery.swf but subgallery.swf doesn't load images. When testing subgallery.swf alone, it loads jpeg files.Is there any limitation or setting preventing external swfs loading other content?
I created a site using Kirupa's external .swf loading tutorial. Now in one of my externally loaded .swf's, I am loading another external .swf. I've gotten this to work fine, but the second external .swf (loaded into the first) contains buttons that will swap this second external .swf with another external .swf. I can't seem to get the AS references to the variables set up correctly in order to swap the swf's. The initial .swf loads fine, but the button control gets complicated inside it. It sounds rather confusing, so I've included a link to the .fla's and .swf's below.

The file structure:
-band.swf load's profiles_main.swf
-The buttons in profiles_main.swf are trying to load chris.swf (swapping it entirely with profiles_main.swf)
I have subgallery.swf file that loads jpeg images. And I have gallery.swf file that loads subgallery.swf.The jpeg images and both swf files are in the same folder.When I test gallery.swf it loads subgallery.swf but subgallery.swf doesn't load images. When testing subgallery.swf alone, it loads jpeg files.Is there any security limitation or setting preventing external swfs loading other content?
What is technical difference between buffering and loading ? Say, i have a video, which is showing loader bar in progress. Then what's happening exactly ? Buffering or Loading ?
everything was going fine on a website project I've been working on, until yesterday. I'll try to explain the whole scenario first, and I'll put the code in here too so anyone can try to figure out what is wrong. Here's the breakdown of the site:
1) There is a MAIN SWF file that plays an intro and then stops on the last frame with the "Main" Navigation buttons.
2) Inside the Root folder where the MAIN SWF resides, there is another folder called "swfs" which contains six main external navigation pages, as well as another folder called "galleries" which contains additional external swf files for six gallery pages.
3) On one of the layers of the MAIN SWF, there is a movie clip called "mySWFLoadingClip" that the "Main" Navigation buttons load and unload the external swf pages onto. These all work perfectly. The problem start on the next step. This is the code I used for the navigation buttons on the MAIN SWF timeline:

If anyone can help me figure this out I would be really grateful. This is a very important project and the deadline is coming up very soon. Please help me figure out how to load an External SWF onto the main time line and then load an additional external swf from within the first external swf. I'm stumped.
