I have masked the video clip. The masked clip is working fine. But the Actionscript 3, which contains 2 more SWF external movie clips not loading those files. Once I remove the mask they start working.
View 9 RepliesI'm using Flash CS5 proefessional and trying to do a demonstration. The demonstrationincludes a rope-like lanyard that is quite long and needs to bend at many many points. After successfully applying the bone tool to the object, I tried moving it with Free Transform.However, when I do so, the lanyard suddenly disappears, besides a couple tiny pieces. I didn't delete the previous layer, and I had unioned everything before breaking it apart again to apply the Bone tool.

View 4 RepliesI have an application written in AS3 that is loading swfs written in AS2. Most of them work fine, except for ones that contain the old AS2 accordion component. Loading one results in it working correctly, but each one that is loaded after it breaks the previous one (the content no longer shows and the mask disappears). It's not just limited to the accordion, any of the AS2 components that came with Flash Pro cause breakage. I've tried loading the swfs to separate movieclips, tried using applicationDomain, tried everything else I can think of. Rewriting the swfs in AS3 is not an option due to circumstances out of my control.

I have no problem using it in the timeline and applying a mask (with a brush) to give the effect of the lightning travelling through the air. However when I create a new layer for another bolt of lightning and a new mask to give the appearance of it travelling I cannot make the 2nd mask active as it is greyed out?

So it plays the tweening out animation of the file that's already loaded, then loads the new file, playing the tweening in animation. However, currently the container movie clip is empty when the flash movie is played. I want to be able to have some content already loaded in it, but when I use the container .loadMovie("start.swf") code, it just keeps loading start.swf into it when any of the other buttons are clicked. Is there a way I can have content load when the flash movie is started, but when any of the buttons are clicked, for it to tween out, and basically, never reappear?
I'm attempting to use the movieClipLoader to load a file onto an instance of a class derived from movieclip. For some reason, this doesn't seem to work, because after it successfully loads, the array that contains these derived class instances suddenly become movie clips and lose all their derived variables (tracing them resutls in 'undefined').So I thought there must be another way. Perhaps there is a way to copy the image data from one movie clip to another, or someone suggested taking a snap shot of the first movie clip and then applying it to the second as a bitmap.

I'm having trouble importing an external .swf into my .fla. file. The only AS that is working gor me is-

However, once the swf shows, it replaces the background interface. I assume I have to add a _level into the code but how?
I have two different external .swf files that are loading onto a parent, I have the same code on each, one works fine but the other one is giivng me this error,

Someone here recently helped me immensely with a question I had about creating a previous button in my flash file that would allow the user to click on the button and view the previous swf file. I'm hoping someone can help me with making the Next button now, too.
I have a movieclip that loads an array of external swf files. I thought making the next button would be as simple as changing just a select few things to the previous button.However, that's not working. When I try that, the movieclip doesn't even load the swf files. Below is my AS2 code for my file. I bolded the part at the end that is for the previous button. Does anyone know how to make the previous button?

So now I want to achieve exactly the same thing in AS3, I have been looking at examples on the web but am getting all sorts of errors and basically don't know what I am doing. I also want to know how to navigate to .swf files in a file structure, as I have to build an old school fscommand file structure for a cd-rom.
I'm having some resizing/full-screen difficulty with loading an external quiz swf into a video player swf. What's happening is that, when the quiz swf is first loaded into the video player, the size of the loaded swf has the correct dimensions and aspect ratio. That part is fine, but as soon as I try to fullscreen or resize the video player (using listeners with stage dimensions) the external quiz swf changes dimensions on me and looks vertically squished and smaller.
I've talked to other people about this issue, and they're telling me that this issue is occuring because the quiz swf contains elements outside of the stage. These hidden elements are supposedly giving the video player "incorrect" dimensions. Is this really the case? Is there any other solution other than fitting any hidden elements within the quiz swf within the stage? And if this is the only solution, then why on initial load does the quiz swf show up properly?
I have an executable with several embedded videos that plays fine but when I go Full Screen I lose the video. Anyone have this problem before? I am working in CS4 and using AS3.

It looks good in the FLA file but when I convert to SWF, the text box simply disappears. Other components of my animation remain as I have designed them.

I am staggering it 14 times throughout scene one, with varying times.My problem is that it plays once then disappears (I added actionscript on the last frame in the symbol movie clip). I would like it to play then keep the last frame displayed in scene one until a specific keyframe (60). Not have the movie clip instance loop, rather show the image that is on its last frame.

View 3 RepliesI have cs4 web premium which doesn't include aftereffects. I need to however make a green/blue backgrounded video transparent (alpha channel, if I got it right) to be used by flash/as3. I'm not sure if I can use either firework or illustrator do the job? another question is, for a short movie clip, which tool can be used to edit the movie frame to turn the non-green/blue clored backgroud into green (then adding alpha channel...)

I have a files that is loading and parsing a huge amount of data from a csv file and creating and plotting a graph using the data. All is well if I have the file loaded on the first frame of the movie. But if I pass in the URL by entering the file name in a text input field and clicking a button. The X and Y axis values disappear as do intermittent notes placed above the bar graph. I still see the x and y axis and it's hash marks and the bar graph (shapes) but all of the text is gone.
View 3 RepliesI've imported a Quicktime video clip into my scene. I want to slide this video clip in from off screen and have it stop at center stage using keyframes. When I use keyframes to move a video clip - the playback of the clip resets to it's first frame at every keyframe. Is it possible to move a rolling video clip using keyframes without altering the playback of the clip?

I'm thinking perhaps somebody here can answer my long awaited explanation for this bug or phenomenon. I have a shape animation on the timeline from one keyframe to the next (3 keyframes). There is an orange movieclip under that mask with instance name "container". Now if i attempt to attach a movieclip to it at runtime, it will automatically get removed when it reaches the 2nd shape tween keyframe. All my code is in frame 1. Isn't that illogical? I know it works if i place it into a movieclip. I need an explanation to this (if its a bug) and a workaround other than repetitively attaching it from frame to frame.
View 2 RepliesI'm sure this has been asked in some way or another a couple of times before, and sually the first response seems to be..."are your fonts embedded?" Yes, they are. I am using a couple of different tweening classes (it happens with all of them). Basically what I'm doing is a simple sliding in and sliding out animation via the x and y properties of a movieclip. It only happens to a few movieclips, but some (not all) of my dynamic textfields disappear when doing this. When I click in the area that they are supposed to be, it magically appears. I have even tried creating the masks dynamically to stop the bug with no luck. It is very sporadic, but does anyone know/have experience with how to solve this problem?

View 1 RepliesI spent almost a week trying to figure out how to unload a currently loaded swf using its button and loading a new swf... I have three files, a main.fla, file1.fla and file2.fla. In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. If i will click the "unload" button in the file1.swf, I would like the main.fla to unload the file1.swf and load the other file, file2.swf. Here is the code to load the file1.swf:

I noticed that for some reason whenever I use the 3d rotation tool on an object inside of a clipping mask that the object releases the clipping mask. Are 3d objects not supported within clipping masks? Is there a way around that?

And I have gallery.swf file that loads subgallery.swf.The jpeg images and both swf files are in the same folder.When I test gallery.swf it loads subgallery.swf but subgallery.swf doesn't load images. When testing subgallery.swf alone, it loads jpeg files.Is there any limitation or setting preventing external swfs loading other content?

I need to simply create "swf" files from a number of videos I have finished in Premiere Pro 5.5.
These videos are 800 x 600 videos that display at "point-of-sale". The spec is swf and not flv.
(I do not need to do anything else in Flash apart from create the video file with the swf extension.)
