Dec 16, 2011I suppose the title says it all. I can load an external video file (FLV) and I can have it play. I also have the custom buttons made to control the clip. The only thing I have left to do is to have the main timeline move onto frame 2 once the external video reaches its end. I am using actionscript 3 and flash cs 5.5.

Oct 20, 2010I'm having some resizing/full-screen difficulty with loading an external quiz swf into a video player swf. What's happening is that, when the quiz swf is first loaded into the video player, the size of the loaded swf has the correct dimensions and aspect ratio. That part is fine, but as soon as I try to fullscreen or resize the video player (using listeners with stage dimensions) the external quiz swf changes dimensions on me and looks vertically squished and smaller.
I've talked to other people about this issue, and they're telling me that this issue is occuring because the quiz swf contains elements outside of the stage. These hidden elements are supposedly giving the video player "incorrect" dimensions. Is this really the case? Is there any other solution other than fitting any hidden elements within the quiz swf within the stage? And if this is the only solution, then why on initial load does the quiz swf show up properly?
Professional :: Referencing External Video Across Multiple Computers?
Dec 16, 2010I have made a .swf that references an external .f4v . The swf plays fine on my own computer, but does not play on a colleagues computer, or another computer which we tested. The file is not for upload to web , it is for local playback. I assume this is a file path issue, but I have tried many different things including specifying a path and then recreating the same directory structure on the other computer. What am I missing? The f4v file can playback on the colleagues computer (I did install ffdshow , although another tested mp4 also plays back fine) but not the .swf. !

ActionScript 3.0 :: Embedded Video And External Video With Playback Component
Nov 9, 2010I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.

I have used CS4 before for one of my classes but that was a little while ago, and I feel like I'm starting over again. May 25, 2010I imported an avi video to flash, converted it to flv with Adobe media encoder, and did some symbol animation on top of it.How do I export an avi video so that the video I imported is actually playing, and not just to see the skin and flv icon? When I test the video it makes it in swf form and I'd rather not convert it any further and mess up it's quality.Is it possible to view the video in work space while animating symbols over it (I kinda did it by heart)?

Dec 10, 2010I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.

Sep 9, 2010I'm porting in an .flv to Flash for the first time. I created the .flv from an .MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, and then opened a new Actionscript 3 .fla in Flash Professional CS5, clicked File > Import > Import Video. Then selected 'Load external video with playback component'. Everything seems to have imported fine, but when I publish the SWF and import it via Dreamweaver CS5 and preview the page, the video is there, but the controls are not. There's just a white box where the controls should be. Also, the video is out of sync with the audio, which I believe is a problem with Media Encoder, not Flash.

Mar 28, 2011I'm currently working on a website design. The idea is a big chromakeyed interactive video in Flash. The size of the video is 1080 (width) x 1500 (height) pixels.I've exported the video in After Effects with the standard settings for flash (File>Export>Adobe Flash Player(SWF)). Now when I import the video in Flash and preview the file, the video plays in a slower speed and it's not playing smooth at all...Is the video too big? Is there a maximum video-size to keep the video running correct in Flash? Is it something else that causes this problem..?

Mar 6, 2010With the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480
- so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400)
- but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish
- and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger
- Position the Player controls below the actual video

Because the client wants a full-screen option for both the video and game segments, our file size is too big. Any advice on how to minimize load time yet retain a relatively high-quality image standard? The h.264 codec would help with image quality, but there are licensing issues, and we need the transperent alpha channel for the video segments.

Jan 19, 2010I have a flash video that is set to autoplay when the page loads. We've just implemented thickbox/lightbox system on it now so when you click on the video it enlarges into that new frame. Problem is, when that's done the video/audio is still playing while the video in the thichbox is playing too. This leading to ineffective listening. Does anyone know a code that would trigger the video to pause when clicked anywhere on the video screen?

Apr 27, 2010I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:

Aug 11, 2011I've imported a Quicktime video clip into my scene. I want to slide this video clip in from off screen and have it stop at center stage using keyframes. When I use keyframes to move a video clip - the playback of the clip resets to it's first frame at every keyframe. Is it possible to move a rolling video clip using keyframes without altering the playback of the clip?

Dec 20, 2010everything was going fine on a website project I've been working on, until yesterday. I'll try to explain the whole scenario first, and I'll put the code in here too so anyone can try to figure out what is wrong. Here's the breakdown of the site:
1) There is a MAIN SWF file that plays an intro and then stops on the last frame with the "Main" Navigation buttons.
2) Inside the Root folder where the MAIN SWF resides, there is another folder called "swfs" which contains six main external navigation pages, as well as another folder called "galleries" which contains additional external swf files for six gallery pages.
3) On one of the layers of the MAIN SWF, there is a movie clip called "mySWFLoadingClip" that the "Main" Navigation buttons load and unload the external swf pages onto. These all work perfectly. The problem start on the next step. This is the code I used for the navigation buttons on the MAIN SWF timeline:

If anyone can help me figure this out I would be really grateful. This is a very important project and the deadline is coming up very soon. Please help me figure out how to load an External SWF onto the main time line and then load an additional external swf from within the first external swf. I'm stumped.

Jul 2, 2009I'm building a flash web site and I'm loading external SWF files to a main SWF. One of these external SWF loads videos using a FLVPlayback Component. The problem I have is when a video is playing and you press another link in the main SWF the other section loads but the video keeps playing in the background, eventhough every time a load a new external SWF I use the unload() method to unload the previous SWF.

Jan 26, 2012I have a video that is playing in an FLVplayback Component, inside of a MovieClip. I have a cue point in the video about half way through, that triggers a seperate MovieClip (on the Parent timeline). This worked perfectly until I removed the Parent MovieClip, and made it an External SWF. Now the cue point triggers this in the Output window:
