Aug 23, 2009I bought a flash site template that loads xml driven swfs inside the main swf as different menu items are clicked. The modules that come with the template work fine, but I don't know how to add a third party xml driven swf, so that it shows up properly. While the third party swf works fine as a standalone, the embedded version loads just an empty movie.

Jan 12, 2010I am trying to use AlivePDF to save a chart into a .pdf file. However, when I try to save my chart, it ends up clipping half of the chart in the pdf so it isn't even fully visible. It seems that the screencapture that AlivePDF took to generate my pdf was too small.I am trying to get a chart from a sample to work with sample code for using alivepdf that I picked off the web.[code]

here is the thing i want:::
I have array values like this,,
array1 = [23, 49, 40, 239, 20, 80, 39,49,120, 24, 31,41];
and i want to show these values on the Yaxis and months on Xaxis....
I have two Qns,
1) how can I pass this array to Bar chart or column chart.
2) how do I need to show months on Xaxis. beacuse I'm asking this regarding, I have kept a filters that even if we want to see some months or a particular months or perticalar span of months... there on Xaxis it need to change the months dynamically depending on the filters..... (for ex, on Xaxis the values should be (Jan, Apr, Jun,Oct) if i select the 3 months period filter....)
I have written a logic to collect the values of those particular months into an array, but not understading how to pass this array to Bar chart,, beacuse there I don't know what Xfield and Yfield to be given....

Nov 16, 2009I looked at different flash chart software (free and commercial) and could find only one that supports the feature I want: map my dataset on the predefined X axis. Let me give an example.
Let's say my X axis is time. The time is represented in hours. So let's assume my X axis has last 24 hours. Now the data I have in the database contains data coming every 50 minutes. My goal is to have a chart that will show this data. The point on the graph will not correspond to X axis values one to one.
The simple solution (and all charts support this) is to set X axis resolution to 1 minute and only show "ticks" on A axis every hour. Assuming that chart supports "null" values (and most of them are) - it works fine as an idea.
The problem is that in this case (for all of the charts I know) I have to provide XML/json/CSV as a source of data that will contain 24 hours * 60 minutes points of data, with only ~29 (24 hours, every 50min) containing meaningful data. This puts a stress on 1) database, 2) more traffic 3) makes chart less responsive.Are there any flash graphs that will accept a dataset of ~29 values and map into 24 points on X axis.

Aug 6, 2009I have this flash player we use to create some graphs and charts of our business performance. We use flash because we like those neat-o graphics and overall User experience.
The thing is that now I need to generate snapshots (i.e. images) of those charts every Monday so I can save them to disk.
Our flash player takes arguments at startup (or runtime) that specify the data we want to load and the date range, and we have LOTS of charts around.
I would like to know if there is any way to create these images in a batch, window-less process in linux. My goal would be to have a script that runs at 2am, automatically loads all the graphs say for the latest week, and creating PNG images for each. All this in one of our window-less (but with X11 libraries) linux boxes.

I'm so proud of myself! But now it looks like you can't dynamically generate accessilbe resources. I'm being asked for the alt.text equivalent of various text boxes, while the actual content of each box depends on multiple factors.

Feb 9, 2010Im currently working on a system whereby a user can fill in text fileds within a PDF form, submit the data as XML and this is picked up by the Actionscript in a .SWF file thus allowing end user customisation without the need to edit the actual Flash files.I have all this working fine so far however im stuck at a particular part.I want to have radio buttons (or something similar) on each page of the PDF where the user can select if the page has to be output in the .SWF file or not. Ive tried creating the actionscript part for this however im completely lost. The XML from the PDF i can manage no probs but the actionscript part is stumping me.

Feb 28, 2012I've been hunting for tutorials on XML driven AS3 menus. I've found some really cool stuff, but nothing that does what I want, and most don't really explain the "hows' involved in getting the XML into the flash. I want to dynamically load menu buttons based upon an xml document in horizontal fashion with sub menus that load 10px down and to the right of the main menu button. With each item in the sub menu filing to the right. I'd also like to have that light up bar track the main buttons so that as the mouse moves over the bar slides to it.

Mar 11, 2010i stumbled accross the following website: URL...As you can see, the site is driven using a hd video. the user can interact with the site by performing little actions with the mouse. I guess this is simply accomplished by seeking through the video using the mousemovements as offset.What i would like to know is, how are videos like this encoded ? How big is the video behind a site like this ? Is the HD content streamed from the server ? What compression would you recommend for similar quality ? Do you guys know a tutorial/article that deals with constructing "video driven" websites like the one above ?
