I've recently been working on some bigger projects in Flash and would really like to be able to use Test Driven Development but haven't found a great way to do so. I'd imagine its a bit harder to do in flash as most of its projects require heavy user interactivity (drag and drop with mouse, keyboard input to move etc...).

Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong? My player is set to AIR for Android,I have my certificate,I don't get any errors, and debugging on my device via USB works flawlessly.

I assume the application needs to download a file, based on the data loaded in that specific time we calculate the download speed. i am not sure about the upload and the ping.
I bought a flash site template that loads xml driven swfs inside the main swf as different menu items are clicked. The modules that come with the template work fine, but I don't know how to add a third party xml driven swf, so that it shows up properly. While the third party swf works fine as a standalone, the embedded version loads just an empty movie.

I've been given a Flash tutorial to post to the corporate website that is an .exe file with an embedded Flash player. Users will be on IE, so I guess they would get the run/save prompt. I don't like this and I know it generally isn't done, but I need to know if it is OK to just do it. When I try to explain the security issues with executable files, eyes glaze. Is it possible that the users' system admins would be able to block the run prompt and make the user save the file? Could they block that too? The user community is hopeless, so having the embedded Flash player could be a good thing.

I've tried this:

But that only gets me the photos belonging to that user.
Does anybody use bare .SWF files as webpages? I know it's possible; it seems to work fine for me. Why would I embed a SWF inside an HTML page if it's just going to be full screen (I mean the size of the browser's normal viewable page area, not COMPLETELY fullscreen)?
Is there a lack of browser support? Or is this functionality determined by the browser's Flash plugin?
I want to have a web site which switches the web camera of users, makes a video recording and send results to my web server.Is it possible to do that? I think it should be. For example such sites as chatroulette.com starts web camera. Should it be done with the Adobe Flash technologies? Is it hard to do that?

The rest will be queued.If I have a flash movie on the page which is continually making image requests, how does this affect the maximum number of downloading files in the browser?
Is this browser limit accurate, and is it generally the same across browsers? Does flash share the requests of the browser? If not, does flash have a limit and what is that limit?
For some background, I do have a flash movie that is continually loading files so there is a queue of Loaders waiting to make requests.My idea was that if there was a different request that I needed to be executed straight away I could make it jump the queue by making a javascript call and allowing the browser to make the request instead.
i have a movie that has worked fine in past during Html test but ive been doing some dubugging using the flash test latly and it runs fine here but when i go back and try to test in Html mode no errors come just the movie never fully starts (starts up about as much as if there was an error).

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to test a custom Flex 4 skinnable component, using the FlexUnit UIImpersonator class. If I run my tests from a FlashBuilder Spark only project everything works fine. If I try to test from a project with the mx component set on the classpath I get a "getElementIndex not available in non Flex 4 projects" error.Can I unit test spark components in FlexUnits visual test environment while still having the mx component set on the classpath?
UIImpersonator delegates it's method calls to a "testEnvironment".The implementation used for this "testEnvironment" is decided by the VisualTest EnvironmentBuilder class and the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class. If the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class can find the "mx.core.Container" on the classpath it returns a MX environment, else a Spark environment. Only the spark environment has valid implementations for Flex 4 relevant method calls on the UIImpersonator - like the addElement method.
My buttons only work when I click on them on the stage while having the "enable simple buttons" option on. They do not work if I try to "test movie," "test scene" and publish it to a SWF. Nothing responds whenever I am in these modes. I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Actionscript 2.0.

I am looking for a non XML driven Flash banner rotator, something where I can load my images into the FLA and publish. The only rotators I can seem to find have external XML/image files, etc. All I want to do is create simple SWF's that I can use to display rotating images preferably is a smooth and stylish manner. Does anyone know of any, or could point me in the right direction?

I'm so proud of myself! But now it looks like you can't dynamically generate accessilbe resources. I'm being asked for the alt.text equivalent of various text boxes, while the actual content of each box depends on multiple factors.
View 1 RepliesIm currently working on a system whereby a user can fill in text fileds within a PDF form, submit the data as XML and this is picked up by the Actionscript in a .SWF file thus allowing end user customisation without the need to edit the actual Flash files.I have all this working fine so far however im stuck at a particular part.I want to have radio buttons (or something similar) on each page of the PDF where the user can select if the page has to be output in the .SWF file or not. View 3 RepliesI've been hunting for tutorials on XML driven AS3 menus. I've found some really cool stuff, but nothing that does what I want, and most don't really explain the "hows' involved in getting the XML into the flash. I want to dynamically load menu buttons based upon an xml document in horizontal fashion with sub menus that load 10px down and to the right of the main menu button. With each item in the sub menu filing to the right. I'd also like to have that light up bar track the main buttons so that as the mouse moves over the bar slides to it.

second button takes you to frame 3
but on scene 2 that performs same function as scene 1, the first button

instead of going to frame 2 goes to frame 3. and the second button goes correctly to frame 3.that happens when i test scene! when i test movie all buttons work properly.

I am a newbie programmer and i dont yet have any idea of the WEB. I wish to start learning a technology that will allow me to build websites( database driven) i dont know which one to choose. I know some actionscript3 and flash. Is it possible to create a database driven website using these alone? Or do i need to learn any other technology? If i do then what should i learn?
