ActionScript 3.0 :: Cant Find Where Is Null Error?

Currently there is a error i cant seem to find as the error indicates that
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at Panel/setting()
at Panel()
went to panel/setting to see what is wrong but still cant figure out what is wrong.i am suppose to make the spawning of edible and inedible stop till end of the time..current time is 5s as i wanted to find out where is it that is wrong but original time is 60seconds. the spawning does not stop and it keep repeating even if i never add in spawnUp().

the script i wrote is working fine. but the script attached to the flash player which i have no control over is throwing a script error (im using IE8).how can i fix this? if i run it locally there is no error.

Code is working but i am getting the following error and it is driving me insane:
TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter hitTestObject must be non-null.
at flash.display:isplayObject/_hitTest()
at flash.display:isplayObject/hitTestObject()
at PlatformGame/checkCollisions()
at PlatformGame/gameLoop()
Here is my Frankenstein code...i just need it working. Error happens when I remove the numOfKeys-- where I examine the level. Had to remove some code because of length when posting here on FK.

Starting new thread for this topic as suggested by forum. I have a website which tweens movieclip pages (named home, bio, music, video and contact). Love the effect and trying to keep it. Main timeline contains the main buttons (home_btn, bio_btn, music btn, video_btn, contact_btn). Music page has a XML mp3 player contained in it with button control. Video page has an encoded video with no code.
I need the following:
1 - Music and video to shut off as those pages/movieclips tween off the stage. Gets annoying with them playing especially at the same time
2 - Music player to play correctly. It is not with the new code.
I have the following code. The "Tween Code" is on frame 1 of the main timeline of the movie. The "MP3 code" is on frame 1 of the music movie clip. I am getting the following ERROR message when running my movie. I ran the Debugger as I publish and it points to music.my_channel.stop(); in below code. My thought process on this was that it would reach out to the music movieclip, find my_channel and stop it.

I am not an expert in flash, but i do work with AS and tweak Flash projects , though not having deep expertise in it. Preloader Movie clip is the first one getting loaded. As i understood the error is getting thrown initially itself, and it is not happening due to any Action script logic written inline, because it is throwing error even before hitting the first inline AS code.I am not able to figure Out what exactly it causing the problem, or where to resolve it. i added a display object like so:

but then later in the code i want to remove the child so i did this:
mainHolder.parent.parent.parent.removeChild(getChildByName("backButton"));

I'm calling a function in my actionscript called GrabWidget() from the javascript. When I do this from a plain page with just the flash and the javascript link, everything works flawlessly. However, when I add this to a page, I get the error: uncaught exception: Error in Actionscript. Use a try/catch block to find error.I've even gone so far as to empty out the contents of GrabWidget() in my actionscript and I still get the error.

I am trying to use the scroll pane component and I am having a few teething troubles. I have a scroll pane as a child object of a movie clip which is essentially a 'page', if I display this page it works fine and the scroll pane does too. If I then remove this page from the display list, go to another page and come back by readding it to the display list, I get the following error, even though nothing else has changed:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.at fl.containers::ScrollPane/fl.containers:ScrollPane::endDrag()
The scroll pane is still visible and works correctly, but ideally I'd like to stop this error.

This is the error I cannot seem to understand. On the stage I have a movie clip, mcTree. It's keyframe is in frame 3143. There is no tween or anything. In frame 3144, I have the following actionscript:
mcTree.gotoAndStop(2);
I publish the movie and I get to frame 3144 then BAM TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at 2file_fla::MainTimeline/frame3144()
As you can tell, I'm more than 3000 frames into my animation here and have made it this far using this method, and it has worked.

I'm having a little difficulty when it comes to getting objects ready for garbage collection.
I have some dynamically created movieclips.
Within each clip, I have a combo box and a close button. When the user clicks the clsoe button, it runs a function that removes all the event listeners for the close button and combo box, and removes the parent clip from stage. I also want to make the parent clip null, and this is where I get an error. I'm not sure how to tell Flash "make the parent of the close button clip = null.[code]...

- I create a photo slideshow in AE
- I export from AE to an FLV file
- I put the FLV file in the root folder of my website
- I use the 'import video' command in Flash
- I choose 'none' for the skin.
- Then I drag a pause/play button to the stage and customize it a bit.
- I export or publish to create a swf file.
- In the component inspector I have tried now several things for the source link: /mysitename/photoslideshow.flv and /users/myname/sites/mysitename/photoslideshow.flv
- In dreamweaver I choose insert SWF and select the SWF file that is next to the FLV file in the root folder of my website. I have tried both options relative to: document and site root.
- I check to make sure the webpage, flv and swf files are published to the server.
- The FLV MIME type is indeed enabled on my server.
- When going online get an error that it cannot find the FLV!
I tried a test with a FLV file I created and using just a regular skin. The same thing happens
I have solved this problem before the first time it happened to 'put' the ENTIRE site in dremweaver vs only the individual files. But this time I have also tried that to no avail.

i used the xml gallery with thumb tutorial i just changed around the var nameseverything thing runs in my xml until it gets down to tracing from the onLoadStart and the rest of the onLoads, which loads the thumbnails. i just can't figure out what it is. this is the functionyou can see where the one trace works and the others don't **also wanted to know if anyone knows how to create a preloader for all the thumbnails from this code, so your not stuck with a blank screen waiting for the thumbs to download **

I am building a shoppin cart in flash and I am having a problem getting the purchase items list to work. Each item which gets added to the cart gets put into a movie clip and added into a purchased items moveClip which is on the stage. Each child item has a remove button attached to it. So if the user wants to remove the item they can. The problem is when I remove some of the items on the list I get a "Error: Parameter child must be non-null." Here is the code aswell:

I'm animating some mc's at the beginning of the timeline with AS3 (mostly alpha fades), but then I have some tweened animations further down the timeline and a "naviagation bar" that's on all frames, so a user can click a button and jump to a part of the timeline to see some other animations.My problem is that if I don't wait to see the programmed animations at the beginning and just clicka button to see the other tweened animations, I get an error:
