Find Error In A SWF?
Jan 17, 2012I have a SWF that works perfectly inside flash. once i export as SWF, it doesn't work anymore.
i can't use "trace"
i have tryed that function but it doesn't trigger it for some reason[code]...

When I do this from a plain page with just the flash and the javascript link, everything works flawlessly. However, when I add this to a page, I get the error: uncaught exception: Error in Actionscript. Jun 8, 2010- I create a photo slideshow in AE
- I export from AE to an FLV file
- I put the FLV file in the root folder of my website
- I use the 'import video' command in Flash
- I choose 'none' for the skin.
- Then I drag a pause/play button to the stage and customize it a bit.
- I export or publish to create a swf file.
- In the component inspector I have tried now several things for the source link: /mysitename/photoslideshow.flv and /users/myname/sites/mysitename/photoslideshow.flv
- In dreamweaver I choose insert SWF and select the SWF file that is next to the FLV file in the root folder of my website. I have tried both options relative to: document and site root.
- I check to make sure the webpage, flv and swf files are published to the server.
- The FLV MIME type is indeed enabled on my server.
- When going online get an error that it cannot find the FLV!
I tried a test with a FLV file I created and using just a regular skin. The same thing happens
I have solved this problem before the first time it happened to 'put' the ENTIRE site in dremweaver vs only the individual files. But this time I have also tried that to no avail.

Feb 23, 2008i used the xml gallery with thumb tutorial i just changed around the var nameseverything thing runs in my xml until it gets down to tracing from the onLoadStart and the rest of the onLoads, which loads the thumbnails. i just can't figure out what it is. this is the functionyou can see where the one trace works and the others don't **also wanted to know if anyone knows how to create a preloader for all the thumbnails from this code, so your not stuck with a blank screen waiting for the thumbs to download **

went to panel/setting to see what is wrong but still cant figure out what is wrong.i am suppose to make the spawning of edible and inedible stop till end of the time..current time is 5s as i wanted to find out where is it that is wrong but original time is 60seconds. the spawning does not stop and it keep repeating even if i never add in spawnUp().

Nov 14, 2010I created a website off of a template, and of course didn't learn the Flash MX 2004 program before I started and just intuitioned through it. Now, the site works great, but I want to edit it and can't get to any of the layers, because I'm sure I've fumbled the organization. I can find the clips, symbols and images in the library, but not on the Stage. Tried onion skinning, and timeline/tween clicking - no go.

Jun 28, 2011I'm currently trying to implement an automated bug reporter for a Flex application, and would like to return error messages to a server along with the function/line number that caused the error. Essentially, I'm trying to get the getStackTrace() information without going into debug mode, because most users of the app aren't likely to have the debug version of flash player.My current method is using the UncaughtErrorEvent handler to catch errors that occur within the app, but the error message only returns the type of error that has occurred, and not the location (which means it's useless). I have tried implementing getStackTrace() myself using a function name-grabber such as [code]
but that will only work because of arguments.callee, and so won't go through multiple levels of function calls (it would never get above my error event listener).Anyone have any ideas on how to get informative error messages through the global error event handler? There seems to be some misunderstanding. I'm explicitly avoiding getStackTrace() because it returns 'null' when not in debug mode.

Mar 30, 2011I have moved our project from SDK 2.0.1 to 3.5 because I'm using TLF. This has compiled OK in flex builder 3 IDE but I am now using command line compilation for our build system and getting errors for all the standard Flex resource bundles: Sharedresources, collections, containers, controls etc. I can see this is because of the improvements in Flex 3 and the SDK local folder doesn't have these as .properties files but now has a framework_rb.swc.

Feb 22, 2012I'm working with a Flex 4 application (MXML and ActionScript front-end using BlazeDS and Java back-end) and I am trying to find the origin of an error. The user sometimes (maybe once a week) gets a pop-up window with "RPC Error" in their web browser. If they retry the operation, they get the same error. Restarting the browser or maybe just reloading the page makes the error go away. Looking in the server log, I don't see any error on the server side. How can I figure out the cause of the RPC error? Can I configure some setting in the browser or Flash player to get additional info?
I've searched the web & some forums including SO but I've come up empty-handed.Edit: in this case it appears the problem was loss of the network connection (user was connected via cell modem). I'm still interested in any ideas about how to troubleshoot this problem.

Jul 16, 2011I have a site that plays either .mp3 or .flv files depending on what is selected from the menu. Menu loads in from xml. I get "unable to make connection with server or unable to find flv on server" when I try to play the video. But the video and audio files are all in the same directory and the mp3 files play fine. I think I'm having a problem with the setMedia command. Here's the code that loads the video and audio files.

Jul 15, 2010which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.

What I need from this code is the following:
a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.

Feb 24, 2009I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.

If I try this with a small 1kb swf file it works great and returns the results with in 5 seconds.However now that I step it up to convert the files in which it was intended, files ranging around 2 mbs, I get this error..
