I want to trigger an event when the checkbox is toggled that will read the value of showAll after a change:
<mx:CheckBox label="Show All" selected="{showAll}" click="_list.refresh()" />
Where, in this case, _list is an ArrayCollection object whose filter function depends on the showAll field to choose values.It turns out that this doesn't work, or at least gives a strong appearance of not working (what with the values in the list not changing and all). Is there a documented order of events for this, so that I can discover which events are dispatched in which order, and whether the binding value change will have fired the time the click event is dispatched? Alternately, can someone recommend a better way of doing this?

Nov 11, 2009I am trying to work with the EventDispatcher class to dispatch a custom event to stop a video from playing. The video plays inside a MovieClip with an attached class file called PlayerProfile. I want the video in the PlayerProfile MovieClip to stop playing when the user clicks on another MovieClip called ScrollBox. I'm getting no compile or runtime erros, but the code is not stopping the video. I have seen use of a public static constant to represent the custom event. Is that what I am missing here.

Jul 1, 2009So I've imported video into my flash using the "progressive download from a web server." When the video ends, I want it to automatically go back to the frame I played the video from. What code would I use to do that? I dont want to insert an "x" button, my boss wants it to be automatic. Do I insert a CuePoint? I don't know too much about flash so I'm not sure how to use onCuePoint or anything.

Mar 16, 2012So, I loaded an external video with playback component.And what I wanted it to do is, after the video finished, it will play the next frame after the frame the video mounted on.here the screenshot.The video is on "frame 1" on "Layer 1", and there is no video on frame 2, just blank frame, with button link to home.I already browsing across various post regarding this, but I cant apply their solution to my project, maybe due to my lack of skills.

Mar 22, 2010I'm new to Flex, Flash, and ActionScript. I'm attempting to create a video player that starts another video when the previous video ends. I thought there might be an event that is thrown when the video finishes playing, but I have not been able to find it.
VideoEvent.COMPLETE is when the video is completely downloaded, not when it is completely done playing. Does such an event exist? how I could subclass SWFLoader, Image, or Video to support such an event?

Nov 6, 2009I have a class which makes a url request and stores data from that request. When the data is retrieved, parsed, and stored into an array, I'm sending a dispatch event which I listen for in my document class. In the event handler function in the document class, I'm accessing the array that was compiled from the class. The array inside the class has 15 values, however in my event handler function, I'm only retrieving one value from it, which is the last value in the array. I posted my code below. Is there a different way I'm supposed to use the dispatchEvent in order to retrieve all of the array values instead of one?

All I want to do is have a parent class listen for whenever a progressEvent has fired in my loader class, rather than setting up an onEnterFrame loop in the parent class to call 'get' methods within the loader - this seems inefficient to me seeing as onProgressEvents don't occur on every frame.

In my Player class I'm dispatching an event(to fire a bullet) when the SPACE bar is pressed.
Assuming I already have an Event Class named FireEvent.
How would I write my code to listen for that event dispatch in my Bullet class in order to create a function to fire the bullet?

Jan 28, 2009I have two buttons each in its own sprite now I want to listen for mouse overmout and click event on both. In a way that if you roll over button1 its color changes but at the same time button2 color changes as well.
To be more specific lets suppose I have a graphic button like map picutre for a country like UK and then I have text button for UK as well. What I want now is that when user either scrolls over UK map the map button color changes but at the same time the color for UL text button changes as well. same goes for click and out events for the two.
