I want to find a text in the particular text field when we enter a word in the find text field and click find button. I have the following objects on the stage.One big input text box (input_txt), one small text box (find_txt) and one button (find_btn) on the stage. I have written following code in action.[code]But it finds and selects only one word and stops. It is not finding another word if there is one more similar word.For example, if there are two words "story", it finds last entered word "story" in the input_txt and stops. I want to find and select all similar words one after another in the full text field as in the normal text program like notepad and word.

I want users to be able to right click on a certain line in the text field, and I don't want to go through the hassle and extra memory and coding involved in breaking up the field.If the user has not selected the textField yet, right clicking will set the "caretIndex" to the correct value, however, if the field is in focus when they right click, the carrotIndex will not display the correct value, but will display the selection value.How can I detect which line/character was right clicked? Is it even possible to get the coordinates of the right click without needing to resort to detecting MOUSE_MOVE and updating some sort of global value each time?

My task is to declare a variable, write an array, loop through the array and output the match in a textfield already created on stage. This code does that, but it gives me the match in number, instead of writing the name I get the number from the array, 2. How can I get the textfield to display the name Stian?

how can i make a movieclip and a textfield to resize to the content of the text in the textfield? I mean, if I have a textfield with 3 letters font name XXX and then the content of the field change, how can i resize te textfield so the text dont autoadjust to the 3 letter space?

When applying text formatting to a comboBox, the text formatting appears perfectly on the dropdown menu items but the textField text disappears.Removing the text formatting from the textField makes the textField text reappear but of course there is no text formatting.
Is there a trick to this.

View 2 RepliesThe code I'm building creates two MovieClips on the stage, in one it instantiates several text boxes and in the other some buttons.
What I can't do is access data from the text boxes (e.g. textField.text) for use in the functions called by the eventListeners attached the buttons. I had the system all working nicely before I placed the text boxes and the buttons on separate movie clips.but this structure makes it much tidier to refresh the text I'm using.The button functions are fine with variables created prior to the building of the text boxes.
Am I failing to address the text boxes correctly (because they're on another movie clip) or is there a stage / movie clip property I need to set so they can see each other ... or is this something else altogether?Could it be that the buttons are created before the text boxes?

View 1 RepliesI bought a web template and have been working my way through the included FLA file (using adobe flash professional css). I have figured out how to do most things but am stumped with one of the movies clips. If you go to the site you will see the image slideshow. The text I am trying to modify is the bottom right box. I was able to change the first round of text which I found in a movie clip called obj 12. The problem is the I cannot find the text after that "Perfect solutions for every space" and so on. I have all the layers visable for obj 12 (everything under the eye is unchecked) and everything under the lock is unchecked. I see layer for the two lines of images which I was able to change but then there are no other layers for the other text. I went through every image/clip in the library

1. Text_box_1 appear first
2. picture_box appear second
3. Text_box_2 appear third
If i remove text1 from xml means the boxes should arrange in the following order.

So in Illustrator you can "Find Font" in your document so you can pinpoint and change or delete text using that said particular font.In Flash I have a piece of text using an old font somewhere in my FLA (I've updated with a new one for all text since) and I'd like to locate it and either delete it or replace it with the font I'd like to use. When I open the file it prompts me in regards to me not having this old font any longer (the font I'd like to remove) and I tell it each time to use the newer font
