View 1 RepliesI'm making a classic horizontal sliding menu flash site, but just can't seem to iron out the last little tweak. How do I get the mouse to not react when over the open section, I've tried 'delete mc3.onRelease;' which works, but then that section will not longer work at all after it's been closed.

Does anyone know how to make a number of objects, say 5 squares, shift horizontally from one starting point on the stage (left side) and stop at the right side, but stop them so that the spacing of squares is end to end. The first square shifts, then stops at the far right. The second stops next to the first and so on.
The tween is a Regular EaseOut, so the squares appear to bounce off the right wall as they stop.
The following code slides the squares and bounces them, but all squares overlap at the end of the animation. I need the ending _x distance to offset somehow.

I am working with a downloaded component that moves separate panels horizontally with an ease. there are 4 panels and they are controlled by 4 buttons to make them move.The code for the panels is:

The value changes with each button to move the panels.My question is the buttons are actually buttons and I want to make them into movie clips but when I do that and apply the same code it does not work. Can this only be done with "buttons"? I am trying to create a portfolio section that slides from panel to panel by thumbnails and left and right arrows.

View 12 RepliesI'm trying to develop a simple elastic menu in AS3. I have a class named "menu" to create a vertical menu with n elements using a MovieClip from the library. It is linked properly as "base_primaria" and with MovieClip class as base class. Every element in the menu is in button mode and when is clicked calls a method (crearsub) to create a submenu. I have another class named "submenu" that creates a submenu with n elements using a MovieClip from the library. It is linked properly as "base_secundaria" and with MovieClip class as base class.
All the elements in the main menu must be relocated depending on the .y position and their .height. For that I'm using a method inside "menu" class named "posicionar". To animate the elements I use TweenLite. The first problem is I want to relocate all the elements through TweenLite and it is not working. Probably the "posicionar" function is wrong. The second problem is I want to click in one element from the main menu and it creates its own submenu. If there is one element with a submenu created, it must to disappear. All the elements must to relocate in real time in every click.

Unfortunately, I've only just waded into AS2.I'm trying to replace the generic colored background with an image that is masked. Unfortunately, turning the layer into a mask breaks the functionality. The weird thing is that it works fine in Test Mode (Ctrl+Enter) and if published as an EXE. It just doesn't work as an swf.Has anyone run into this weird inconsistency before? Also, what is the best way to get into that component and possibly modify it?

So far i have got everything to work apart from the easing movement when the menu is dragged. The menu is quite simple, it is made up of a container mc.Inside this container there are 6 buttons which fill the dimensions of the container.The container itself is bigger than the stage and the user must click and drag the menu horizontally to see the rest of the menu.This is working. However, i am still after an easing effect when the menu is being dragged as it stops dead (because it is using the startDrag and stopDrag commands).how to implement an easing effect on the dragging of this menu i would be so grateful as i cannot manage to do it! (perhaps using tweenlite or tweenmax if its easier, or by using simple physics - I have attached a zip file that contains a compiled SWF and a CS4 FLA file.This is the AS3 i have so far:

View 7 RepliesThis is my first time using Flash to create a website. I am not familiar with Action Script, its functions classes etc., however I am familiar in programming in JAVA. I will be using ActionScript 3 and Flash CS5. (I have Flash CS4 also if needed). I am trying to create a website with a scrolling background that has 4 different scenes. I have attached an image to illustrate my idea. There will be a user interface, consisting of 4 buttons, which will be on stage at all times. Each of the button will correspond to a different scene of the background. So if the user clicks on the third button, the background will slide itself until the third scene appears on the stage.
Questions in mind:
How would the coding be like? I am planning to apply it to the button. So the background should shift ___ amount of pixels to the left or right depending on which scene the user is currently in. So if background is currently at position 800,0 (so the user is currently in scene 2) and the user clicks on 4th button. The background should move -1600 so the 4th scene will appear on stage. I am guessing there is 16 different cases I have to address. Assuming if that works, how would I also move the other objects on the scenes of background? Such as links to email address or my portfolio.
I have been following this tutorial [URL] to design a sliding website. I have designed each section (about, portfolio, contact etc) of the website as a movie clip. All the movie clips were then placed next to eachother in a row. Everytime you click a button the site is supposed to scroll to the next movie clip. This has been working fine until I changed the size of the content. The current content (each content movie clip) is now 1000x600. The problem now is that when you click a button, it doesn't scroll far enough.

I created a slide down menu and for the most part it works when you click on each link, but for some reason, it hangs if you have one link expanded and you click on another link:[URL].. I used an old .fla file and it worked fine but when I added an extra category to it, the menu went all crazy. I'm not sure how to fix it.
