I want to download files from the server side to client side without prompting a window to the user to download when any updates happen at server side.Right now I am using urlstream class but first file is downloading completely rest of the files contents downloading partially.
editCode sample taken from other post. Warning: it's a huuuge chunk o'code.
I use Ubuntu server 10.4 64bit and have Flash streaming server 3.5.5 working fine For security reason I also installed Authentication Addin on FMS and was able to add user using command /opt/adobe/fms/conf/users add -u FlashSAC -p pass. I verified and the user FlashSAC was added to the User.dat located opt/adobe/fms/conf. However when I used Live Encoder 3.1 to send a live stream to FMS, it worked without prompting for username and password at all. I tested Authentication Addin with Flash streaming server 3.5.5 on Windows XP and it prompted for username and password.
I have a button that the user clicks for the purpose of inviting a friend to the app.I understand that this can be done via the js sdk: http[url].....However I am already using the facebook_as3_api, and I would prefer to avoid using multiple facebook api's. Does the facebook_as3_api have a way of doing this, and if not, why not?
Maybe that's more of a Linux question than an Adobe Air one, but there you go: I have an AIR 2 app that does auto-update in the background, with no need for user interaction. It uses Air's own ApplicationUpdater framework (the one that doesn't require a UI) - all goes well until the package gets downloaded and needs to be installed - at that point, the Air Installer prompts for SUDO password and won't proceed without some user interaction.
So I basically have used the fileReference class to allow the user to download a determined file if he wants to.
I use the file.download(URL) function and it works well.
However, the file is downloaded and saved to the hard drive using only the flash player. The browser is not aware of the download, and thus, if I want to show the progress of the download I'd have to make some progress bar myself. I know how to do it, but it would become really tedious and take too much UI space.
Isn't there a damn way in Flash to "send" a determined file to the browser so that it prompts the user to download it? It's an image file, so navigateToURL doesn't cut it since it will just display the image, both if I use a new tab or the current one.
I'm working at a company which has high security environment.Akamai Download Manager starts to download a trial Flash CS5. However, it stops quickly and downloads nothing (zero byte).I want to download a trial Flash CS5 without Akamai Download Manager!
I generate a HTML page with VB.Net which stores several pinks to files. These links are formatted with JavaScript looking like the Windows-Explorer with folders and files. The problem: There are only download links for the files, not for Folders. A folder can contain Subfolders ,a List of Files or a combination of both. So if I want to download a folder, I have to click manually on every file-link. I have not the possibility to insert PHP or another Server-side language. my question now is: Is there a client side way to Download them by click on a Folder? I prefer Javascript but If it isn't possible Flash will be ok also.
From a Flash object, I would like to be able to detect the presence of a webcam that the user might grant access to, without actually asking the user whether they want to grant access. This is to streamline a large application that has extra features if a webcam exists — if there is a webcam, the application will present several dialogs that lead up to the normal cam-security prompt, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, I want to skip over them altogether. Requesting access to the cam before those dialogs won't make sense to the user.
It appears not to be possible to call Camera.getCamera() without the security prompt happening. Is there a workaround? (For instance, could I, perhaps, call getCamera in a hidden Flash object and inspect its return value, or does it block until the user acknowledges the security prompt?)
When I launch Flash builder, I am getting a "workspace in user" message, and Flash Builder keeps prompting me to choose a workspace and it's pointing to the other user's profile.
I keep pointing it to my workspace under "my documents" and I check the following box:
Use this as the default and do not ask again.
However, every time I open up Flash builder, it's asking me again? Is there any way to stop this? Like, is there some file I have to delete or something?
I'm a teacher, and so animations are a God-send. However, the internet in my school can often be a little temperamental and so I like to download flash files, often embedding them into a PPT presentation. However, as of late, I've come across a few that I just can't seem to download. Please note that I am not after the credit for these files, or any way to edit them, I just want to be able to download them to show at my will, regardless of the internet working. The file that I'm currently struggling is a great animation on rocks and the rock cycle:

I can download the SWF, but it will do nothing but sit at "Loading: 1%"...Is it even possible to download this file? The same has been true of files over at eChalk - our school has a subscription, but again, if the internet plays up, no animations.
I have a flash file embedded in an html page. Within the swf I have a link to download a pdf. It works in fine in Firefox but IE bombs out. Any ideas or fixes?
I want to know is there any script or method for not to let swf file to download into the viewer's temporary internet folder .I know there is way , I saw lots of flash gaming sites where the actual flash file does not get downloaded and it can only be watched online. I want to protect my swf from tempering.
this forum is labeled "there is no such thing as a stupid question in here", so... I want to download the Flash Player 7 SDK, but the Adobe website has discontinued it in favour of Flash Lite. So far as I know, it was freely downloadable (at least for non-commercial use) until 2007, but now it has disappeared entirely from the 'net.
I uninstalled the old version but using the Adobe site cannot reinstall. I get a box asking if i want to save the file and telling me it is binary then when i click yes save file a green bar races along the screen in about 5 seconds and apparently my download is complete but there is never anything there afterwards.
Trying to download 10.1 to Win-XP 32bit: Result: would not download, unistalled "working copy" using both Control Panel and Adobe Uninstaller, checked IE and Firefox= clean. Did search fo registry=clean Will still not download..What now?
I am trying to download Flash-Player on my MAC. I click I get the download.I click on the download get the install flash player red box. It says it downloads but when I open my file that need flash it still says I need to download it.
I'm using Flash CS5, AS3 to create an .swf that imports an .f4v or .flv that was encoded with Adobe Media Encoder. When I use .flv the video begins playing immediately and downloads progressively. When I use .f4v the video has to download completetly before playing. Considering all things are equal except for encoding the video as either .flv or f4v, what step am I missing that is preventing the .f4v from downloading progressively?
I would like to run the same Flash Pro CS5 created swf twice on a long web page, at the top and bottom, but if possible, to only download it once for each visit. This is easy with static images of course, but can it be done with Flash? I'm thinking likely not, but would love to be mistaken about that.
