I want to imply subtitles to flashmo video application.I downloaded fla code of Flashmo video. I found a nice as3 subtitle application.Subtitle link is given below. Both video applications are in as3 flash player 10 format. In subtitle application, video uses fl.video. In flashmo video, I did not understand the video structure.. So I don't know to imply the appropriate code.
View 0 Repliesif it is possible to have multible subtitles in the same flv/swf file?I'm using a FLVPlayback component which contains my flv video.On the stage I've also placed a FLVPlaybackCaptioning component linking my subtitles from a XML file to the FLV video. It all work fine.
The only "problem" is that I would like the user to select which language subtitle he/she want to see. I've only succeded to include one XML fil (language) per SWF file. Is there a way for the user to click on the subtitle button and select the specific language he/she preferes?In this way I can have all my subtitles contained in one SWF file instead of having multible SWF files.

View 1 RepliesI understand that Flash supports subtitles with cue points and XML files for flash video. First, I don't know if that would work for a flash animation, and second, I'm looking for a much simpler solution. I am more than willing to manually add and time my subtitles myself on a new layer. What I need help with is finding the simplest way possible to make these subtitles toggle-able. Why? Because I seem to have a serious allergy to ActionScript, and though I can master programs like 3D studio Max and After Effects, I seem to screw up even the simplest of Actionscript jobs.
Is there some way I can make a button that simply makes my subtitles layer invisible across the whole thing? Maybe a command to change the font to a blank one, or to move the titles off screen? There has to be SOME sort of trick that won't require me to drop a load of code into each instance of text. I'm currently using Actionscript 3.0 with Flash CS4. I'd also love to have a pause button that would also stop any music or sound effects that are playing, but after struggling with that for years, I seriously doubt that's going to happen. I did google this subtitles problem, and search flashkit first. Nothing but VIDEO subtitle stuff, and I'm almost positive it wont work the same for a regular animation.

View 2 RepliesI have a mask transitioned 2 pic banner I'm using for a site. Everything appears perfect and am happy with the result.
After a while in ie7 or Chrome (indeed possible any browser!) the transition will freeze - most often mid transition! I have racked my brain trying to figure it out and can only conclude it is an issue with the loop killing the cache of browser or something.
It's an ol' favorite AS2 fla of mine and was taken from a FLASHMO template. how the original that mine was built from and see any problems with cache or runtime etc.? Would a conversion to AS3 fix?

I'm making a flash animation with voices and I wanted to add subtitles to it. What I actually want is an option in the main menu to change the subtitles between english, spanish and no subtitles. I know basically everything there is to know about the graphic part, but my action scripting is very basic. i can barely make a simple loadbar.The options I had in mind were:
1) two layers, one with the english subtitles, the other with spanish subtitles, and that a button shifts the visibility of those layers.
2) two movie clips that can be hidden when not chosen.
3) a dynamic text that will need endless lines of code (this means I prefer options one and two)And if any of those doesn't work, perhaps I can do like some other animators do, and use a hidden button during the animation, that when hovering over it, makes the subtitles apear... but perhaps it's better if I do that later.

At the moment I have the following code, but when I go to full screen it resizes correctly on the first click, then if you go back to normal screen size, and then back to full screen again, the full screen subtitles are still in the smaller, normal screen size.

I have a DVD (VOB, IFO files) that I need to upload to my site. I also have to add subtitles in English. I managed to rip the VOB file and add subtitles in Encore, but was only able to save it as SWF file. I can't upload this file to my site nor will you tube accept it. I have something really weird happening when I try and combine using FLVPlayback Captioning and fullscreen mode to display subtitles.Basically, when I oscillate between normal and full screen...
1. the first time I do so (normal->full) it works - the subtitles are resized fine.
2. Then when I go back to a normal-sized player (full->normal) the subtitles disappear.
3. Then when I try again to go to full screen (normal->full) the subtitles appear - but they are the wrong size - the size that should appear for normal-sized screens.[code]
The application serves as a presentation interface and plays slide and video content using the FLV Playback Controller. The user interface has three preview windows along with a list of slide and video content that gives the user the ability to select which slide(s) and or video(s) appear in the preview window(s). The content is simultaneously shown full screen on three projectors via multiple monitor outputs (2 nVidia SLI gfx cards, 4 outputs, 1 preview monitor, 3 for projectors).Our issue is centered around the playback performance of one 20MB flv (1366x768) after having played several 2MB flv files (same resolutions and bit rates).
The odd thing is that the 20MB file can be played seamlessly 1x, then the small flvs can be played without issue; but if we try to play the 20MB flv again, it begins to stutter in the last half of playback.We are looking at getting an official opinion letting us know if video playback performance can be increased and is so a quote letting us know what costs are involved to do so. We can provide the source code and all related files.The hardware this Application is running on is a PC running XP SP3 with a XEON 5130, 2 Ghz processor, 2 GB DDR2 ram, a Seagate ST3160815AS 160 GB SATA Hard Drive and 2 NVIDIA 9800GTX Video cards

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to play two H.264 encoded videos (.mov) within an AS3 desktop application. I have tried publishing both Air and Projector but both are having (different) problems with playback. When testing the swfs within Flash they both work fine.I'm using a simple NetStream function to play the videos from a local directory. Like I said they both run fine within Flash, so I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but have found it difficult to find documentation on streaming locally.
The Air app works best, but can't seem to play the second video. (I also have been having awful trouble getting around security issues of Air as I'm using LocalConnection in another part of the app, so would prefer not to use it).The projector starts playing both videos but very quickly starts to stutter and choke, and eventually freezes the entire app.The Adobe documentation says that it is possible to use NetStream locally, but maybe this isn't the case?

I want to build an application that will allow the user to upload a movie file, then allow the user to give information about the movie (like synopsis, title, etc.) so that he or she can watch it from the server at a later time. Almost exactly like a youtube clone, for all intents and purposes.
I'm running into a problem, however, with serving up the movie to be watched. I want the user to be able to watch the movie on a variety of different platforms, including over the web in all of the common browsers, on iOS devices and on Android devices (as well as GoogleTV in the future).
I had initially planned on having the user upload whatever file formats they want, store that file, then transcode it on the fly using ffmpeg (or something similar) to serve it up to whichever device is requesting it. This is handy, because I'd be able to transcode it to a smaller size if I needed to to save on bandwidth. Unfortunately, I'm having a tough time finding a method that will do this to display the movie in a web browser.
I've tried VLC to death. I'm able to get it to stream a video on demand over RTSP, but (as I understand it), both the HTML5 video tag and Flash won't accept an RTSP stream. I haven't had any luck finding a method of streaming an on-the-fly transcoded video over HTTP, which looks to limit my options to embedding either a windows media player or quicktime. FFServer with FFMpeg has the same problem; it can create an RTSP stream, but not an HTTP stream.

View 0 RepliesI have a basic video on demand app running on Flash Media Interactive 3.5. I've noticed that in our flowplayer page, in order to view the contents I have to set the netconnectionurl to be the address to the app, and then the file name url needs to contain the rest of the path.
For Example:
NetConnectionURL: rtmp://myserver.edu/appname/
Url: path/to/file/many/folders/deep/video.mp4
However - I have accessed the same file from a different server using the following:

I cannot load more than one of those in my app. As soon as I load one youtube vid like that, any others will fail to load UNLESS it was the same video as the first one loaded, in which case there seems to be a 50% chance that it will load. And even when the second one (the same as the first) does load, there are issues with the player loaded.... it seems they are connected somehow and get confused with each other. The trackbar will flicker between the play time of the first one and the play time of the second one.
Next problem... I cannot unload the video right away. Say my user wants to close the video out, when I use:

the player does NOT close its streams and you can hear the audio still playing (assuming it was closed before it was finished playing)...
In my eyes, this is horribly bad programming on YouTube's part. They claim that you are allowed to embed their videos in AS3.0, but if that's true then why does it have such a horrible time as a child SWF? Proper children SWF files should be listening for an "unload" call and close out anything they need to when unloaded.
Here is what I've tried so far:
- Seperating the videos by loading them into other children SWF files (children that I created that I've told to load a specific YouTube vid)
- loading at different times
- Allowing security access from YouTube
