I have a mask transitioned 2 pic banner I'm using for a site. Everything appears perfect and am happy with the result.
After a while in ie7 or Chrome (indeed possible any browser!) the transition will freeze - most often mid transition! I have racked my brain trying to figure it out and can only conclude it is an issue with the loop killing the cache of browser or something.
It's an ol' favorite AS2 fla of mine and was taken from a FLASHMO template. how the original that mine was built from and see any problems with cache or runtime etc.? Would a conversion to AS3 fix?

The difference with mine is it does not run after click, it loops.
I want to imply subtitles to flashmo video application.I downloaded fla code of Flashmo video. I found a nice as3 subtitle application.Subtitle link is given below. Both video applications are in as3 flash player 10 format. In subtitle application, video uses fl.video. In flashmo video, I did not understand the video structure.. So I don't know to imply the appropriate code.

I am looking at doing it in Javascript but thought I could do the same thing in Flash. (maybe :P)
This is the Javascript idea.
Basically I would want it to be the same as this but the size i want instead of a small one like that.
As I have a limited space I dont want small thumbnails for people to click on and then have the larger view updated.
I would also want the controls and description to be viable all the time minus the play / pause button.
Is this possible? If so how can I do it? Is their already something out that will do this?
If possible I would like to have it database driven (the images and the description) to make it easier so I dont have to keep manually updating the flash.
Also can it be friendly to both Portrait and Landscape images?
and last but not least (and not necessary) can the images then beable to be clicked on and open up to full size ...

Is it possible at all to create a feature on a website where you allow a user to select a portion of the web page, and that selected area is rendered as an image? Its similar to the "Cropper" desktop program but needs to be embedded on the web page It sounds near impossible using JS, flash, silverlight or any web based tools but I just wanted to get a 2nd opinion.

View 2 RepliesI have built a website for a photo gallery and have added the deep link architecture only after the website is built, so the whole site is kind of cripple... The path to each photo is by clicking buttons in the following order Menu->Submenu->Photo I have designate a link for each photo. The site works properly if I try to reach the photo by clicking button in the above order. However, if I try to access a photo by typing the direct link to it, the photo cannot be displayed coz the swf of the menu and submenu, which are triggered by a button click, is not loaded yet.
The current architecture of my site is that when ever the menu button is clicked a new submenu class will be initiated, so the loading of the submenu class only happens when the menu button is clicked. The following site is an example the way I want to make my site to be : [URL] I could access any image on my site by typing a direct link and the swf could be loaded.
I made a flash website for a non-profit organization and it needs to have a photo gallery inside of it. It needs to have 3 categories with about 20 pictures in each category; the pictures are of different sizes.

I have made a Flash banner for my website using CS3 but I wanted to add a hyperlink to it so that when someone clicks on my banner it will bring them to a different page on my site, kinda like the way ad banners work on most websites on the net. I have the official Adobe CS3 Flash manual as well as another one on Flash CS3 just as thick but I can't seem to find anything in either that explains how I can do this.
View 6 RepliesI was given the task of adding a preloader to an already existing flash website. The website is completely in flash. Each "page" is on a layer and are made of animated movie clips. It is a portfolio website, so some pages take a while to load up. That's where the preloader comes in. I want to put a preloader at the very beginning of the page that will play as the entire site is being loaded, so when the user clicks through, each page shows up quickly and seamlessly.
I have created a preloader in a separate flash file, but can not get it to work with the website. How do I combine these two files to work?

Youll see a wall that aniamtes in and out and the effect i want is that when tha page loads on the home site (with the wall closed) and u change a page with the red buttons on the right the Move out animatepart starts and if u change a site again the wall closes and at the opening it reveals the new page selectet.
It all works but i dont know how to control the movie clip while changing sites

View 4 RepliesOk so I have this XML gallery working perfectly, but I want to add a preloader to it. I have the loader and child all in one package, and that package is called via back and forward buttons according to if/else statements that ensure that the xml gallery does not get confused. I figure ok, so it's simple, I just add the preloader into the package using if/else statement, but I can't seem to get it to interact with the imageLoader I have set up in this package. As it stands right now I get no compile errors, but I do get an output error at runtime stating that packagedF and xmlLoadedF are now null object references. Take a look and see if you can figure out what I'm doing wrong:

I'm trying to modify Scotty's fantastic resizable XML gallery to add links to it. I've read through similar posts on this forum and I'm confused on a couple of issues. Firstly, the xml file provided, which I am using, places all fields in "" marks, whilst all examples given on this forum don't seem to do so.Perhaps more importantly, when i try, as recommended on similar posts, to place the link within CDATA tags the gallery stops showing any thumbnails, pictures or anything! What I am trying to do is basically get my navigation working correctly. I had it working by altering the alphas of movieClips, but they just end up overlapping each other even if they are invisible so that's not working out. I have 5 navigation pages. And thus, 5 nav buttons, and 5 movieClips (content for each page -- Home, Location, Tenants, Design, Contact). I want to simply show the home movieclip when on the home page and remove the movieclips from the stage for the other 4 pages.
Then, logically, I want to click the Tenants page, which removes the home page, location, design, and contact movieclips. Very straightforward show only one and remove the rest from the stage, but every combination of add/removeChild and parent and stage etc. is giving me that error above. What's confusing me the most is that the add and removeChild works for the location page, but none of the others. The location movieClip is no different than the others, and I made the code the same but it's the only one that works.
