ActionScript 3.0 :: Adding Effects To A Label Website?

I`m having a bit off a problem controlling animations already createt and registet as movie clips.
Ive createt a label based webpage but each time i want to cange page i want this animation to go on.
im not getting it done yet
Ive attached to photos one of the principal stage and one of the movieclip that is in one of the page layers
Youll see a wall that aniamtes in and out and the effect i want is that when tha page loads on the home site (with the wall closed) and u change a page with the red buttons on the right the Move out animatepart starts and if u change a site again the wall closes and at the opening it reveals the new page selectet.
It all works but i dont know how to control the movie clip while changing sites
i tried to just put inside the buttons functions

I have a flex application and I want to add a new custom component with action script at runtime. This works fine. I have created my custom component and added the following code:

But my problem is the fade in effecto is not working. I know I've declared the effect correctly because if I use it in another component (like a panel) it works fine.

ive built it based off of an example we made in class last year that i had lying around..
as you can see here everything works fine.
The only problem is I want to add some roll over effects to the thumbnail but im not sure how to go about this as they are all dynamically added to the stage..
The way I tried was adding an event listener to each thumb via the function that adds the thumbs to the stage (see the "createThumbs()" function below). The event listener works fine and calls to the function i assigned to it ("thumbRoll") but im not sure what to put in this function to effect the thumb that is moused over as im unable to access "btn_thumb" from "thumbRoll".
ps. sorry if the code is a bit messy, bit of an experiment for me to get everything working..

I'm having a bit of confusion about how to render text in a pure AS3 project. There are classes like flash.text.StaticText but these are designer-only, you can't create them in code. I was half-expecting the Graphics class to have text-rendering options but alas, no. Specifically I was going to add a label above each player's sprite with their name, health %, etc. So I expected to add a child text-element or draw text using Graphics in some way... it's read-only and should not support user-input, I just want to draw text on-screen.

Is it possible at all to create a feature on a website where you allow a user to select a portion of the web page, and that selected area is rendered as an image? Its similar to the "Cropper" desktop program but needs to be embedded on the web page It sounds near impossible using JS, flash, silverlight or any web based tools but I just wanted to get a 2nd opinion.

I have made a Flash banner for my website using CS3 but I wanted to add a hyperlink to it so that when someone clicks on my banner it will bring them to a different page on my site, kinda like the way ad banners work on most websites on the net. I have the official Adobe CS3 Flash manual as well as another one on Flash CS3 just as thick but I can't seem to find anything in either that explains how I can do this.

I was given the task of adding a preloader to an already existing flash website. The website is completely in flash. Each "page" is on a layer and are made of animated movie clips. It is a portfolio website, so some pages take a while to load up. That's where the preloader comes in. I want to put a preloader at the very beginning of the page that will play as the entire site is being loaded, so when the user clicks through, each page shows up quickly and seamlessly.
I have created a preloader in a separate flash file, but can not get it to work with the website. How do I combine these two files to work?

What I am trying to do is basically get my navigation working correctly. I had it working by altering the alphas of movieClips, but they just end up overlapping each other even if they are invisible so that's not working out. I have 5 navigation pages. And thus, 5 nav buttons, and 5 movieClips (content for each page -- Home, Location, Tenants, Design, Contact). I want to simply show the home movieclip when on the home page and remove the movieclips from the stage for the other 4 pages.
Then, logically, I want to click the Tenants page, which removes the home page, location, design, and contact movieclips. Very straightforward show only one and remove the rest from the stage, but every combination of add/removeChild and parent and stage etc. is giving me that error above. What's confusing me the most is that the add and removeChild works for the location page, but none of the others. The location movieClip is no different than the others, and I made the code the same but it's the only one that works.

Is it possible to change a frame label within a gotoAndStop('label') with the parameters in a function?I'm playing around with updating code as I learn more and more techniques, and at the moment the code is a basic click-a-button to select the object shape, and on press the button disappears:

So I have a Flash CS3 based website and I am trying to add in a Flash Gallery.I designed the Flash Gallery as a seperate file and tried to copy the library items into my site file. I got it in, looked ok but when I ran the test it goes crazy and I get 7 actionsript

am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

I have a peice of video that I exported as a swf from after effects. Now that i've imoprted it into flash it's broken down into a squence of images. The problem is I need to move the video (Pics) but obviuosly I can only move 1 image at a time and that's a real pain as there is nearly 80 of them. I really need a way of moving all of them at the same time. Highlighting all the frames and moving them doesn't work.

I'm coming to Flash from a mixed graphic design / 3D animation / motion graphics background. In any of the animation programs I've used before, including After Effects, parenting is a simple operation. ...But it seems that in flash, it's more complex. So far, I am beginning to understand that it has to do with nested scenes, or nested time lines (which may be the same thing?)... So my question is... What is the easiest way to parent one object to another?

I needed to convert a simple graphic symbol into a movie because I wanted to give it depth using the (gradient bevel) filter effect. The movie has to appear at different sizes in my animation but the filter effect does not scale with the symbol. Is there a way to make this filter effect (gradient bevel) scale when I scale the symbol it is applied to?

From some reason when I'm importing a PNG sequence onto stage, it's loading all of the PNGs into one frame instead of distributing them into their own keyframes like it's supposed to. I've seen this problem posted before. Anybody have a solution for this? I've also seen that people have posted that Flash CS3 HATES After Effects PNGs....how bizarre....I'm starting to figure that out.
