ActionScript 2.0 :: Adding Flash Gallery To Flash Based Website?
May 3, 2010
So I have a Flash CS3 based website and I am trying to add in a Flash Gallery.I designed the Flash Gallery as a seperate file and tried to copy the library items into my site file. I got it in, looked ok but when I ran the test it goes crazy and I get 7 actionsript
{Tweener.addTween(%2is is all the same on my errors: 1120: Acc0transition: "easeIn" } );
Tweener.add0mc, { alpha: 0.7, time: tween_duration,%2ion, transition: "easeOut" } );
TwTween( mc, { alpha: 1, time: tween_durat time: tween_duration, transition: "easeOut".ener.addTween( thumbnail_group, { alpha: 0.2, time: tween_duration, transition: "easeOut" } );[code]...........
I'm trying to add the flashmo 3D curve gallery to website website. I changed all the images, but when I added it to Dreamweaver and test the file all I see is the background. Here's the link to the download [URL].
I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.
I was wondering how I could add sound to a gallery that is driven by xml.I have a gallery that loads the picture, Title and description. the gallery is downloadable here.The regular gallery loads a web page when the picture is clicked. I am trying to make each picture load a different mp3.I have the general Idea of how it would be done but I don't know how put it to actionscript.I figured you would basically create a sound object that loads the specific mp3 from the xml file when the picture is clicked from the gallery.I think I might have some what of the idea right but I get an error everytime I load the swf file.
"ArgumentError: Error #2068: Invalid sound. at flash.media::Sound/play() at MethodInfo-6()"
And just loved the way it looked, anyone have any idea how to get a similar effect using ideally CSS/JS and if not then using flash? Furthermore it would be excellent if you could move to the next slide by clicking on the image itself.I'm also wondering how she is able to maintain height of the images when resizing (unless she is doing it manually which I doubt now days).
I'm looking for a way to have an .mp3 file play in a website without relying on a flash-based player. I've searched w3 schools and every forum I can think of, but every media player I've found so far has been some sort of proprietary flash player.
Doesn't HTML support some sort of native player? I've found some that rely on Windows Media Player which is close, but I want the player to work on an iPhone and something tells me WMP won't get that done.
This is not an issue with action scripts it's regarding the privacy and secureness in a flash based website. WIll it cause any harm by giving someone the websites' FLA (just for checking purpose)? Can that person do any harm to the web in future? If yes, what are the possibilities? (online transactions, database info, virus, etc...)
I need to run a webservice from a webpage that is based on swf, the webpage is hosted localy on the same computer with the webservice, and is browsed from remote computers. I wanted to knoe thw proccess that runs on the page, if the page is run localy and localy it runs proccess of the swf or is loaded to the browser amd from there it performs opperations.
I've done my fair bit of HTML coding and work fairly well with CSS but i've never ever done a mouseover in flash.. Now, the website's text, all of it, is simply located on a text.txt file that the flash file reads and incorporates onto the website.. All text and images come from this text file. This is what I want to do.
Click on Enter site, then when it loads, click on the "Selling" tab at the top of the site. On the "My Listings" section is where I want to have the mouseover text and the "Market Analytics" section (which we'll be renaming) is where we'd like the image to actually appear. My question to you is can this be done within this environment and how so?
I can edit JavaScript somewhat, though its been a while.
I am new to as3 and am having an issue transferring a Flash Video Gallery into a seperate flash file.Basically I want to add this video player file into a separate flash site I am making but don't know how with as3.I copy all the library assets from the video gallery FLA into the other movie, put the movieclips in the right location and upload all the relevant actionscript files, xml data linked with the original video player file but nothing still shows up when tested live.
I'm very new to flash and as3 design patterns. But I can read and write as3 quite ok, i've created small widgets with that. I've developed several web sites using php and also python.
Now for a educational cd-rom project i'm working on, i've basically designed all templates (A home page, a generic page with navigation and a sidebar - kind of like a wordpress blog). I have all the data for the cdrom on word files, which i intend to place on xml files.
My question is what is the best way to start a project like this? Can anyone guide me to a template or something that can be used for kickstarting this? kind of like a wordpress (without the admin)? Or am i on this all wrong?
I've done some Action Script 2.0 before this, but never really moved outside of flash. meaning i can tween, animate, include buttons, so all the basics for a static website i can do, but now i'm currently doing some workplacement and am working on an xml based gallery.
I've gotten as far as being able to load a jpeg from a xml file into the swf. i also programmed a thumbnail panel. what it does so far is create as many thumbnails as there are nodes in the xml file. you can then scroll through them via mousemovement. what i can't figure out is how to load pictures into the thumbnails, seeing it is always the same movieclip but a different picture should be loaded in each one.
so here's some info on the code:
i create the thumbnails using the addChild Method. i add a movieclip called "thumbnail" from the library. like so:
for (var i:int = 1; i <= picamount; i++) { createThumb(); function createThumb() {
Is it possible to make the flash content go back to some previous frame when the user clicks on the back button in the browser? Similarly, can the the refresh button be used to refresh to the same frame and not go back to the starting frame?
I have a bit of Flash experience, did a full featured movie player, other stuff in AS3 and got plenty of programming skills in other languages, BUT now I need to create a multi paged website. Quite easy, a few pages, some animations here and there, nothing fancy, got all the graphics.
But time is short on this one, so I need some advice about good practices (pack everything into one main MC or make separate swfs and load them in, etc.), where to begin, or what kind of book should I grab to make the job pretty.
I have made a Flash banner for my website using CS3 but I wanted to add a hyperlink to it so that when someone clicks on my banner it will bring them to a different page on my site, kinda like the way ad banners work on most websites on the net. I have the official Adobe CS3 Flash manual as well as another one on Flash CS3 just as thick but I can't seem to find anything in either that explains how I can do this.
I was given the task of adding a preloader to an already existing flash website. The website is completely in flash. Each "page" is on a layer and are made of animated movie clips. It is a portfolio website, so some pages take a while to load up. That's where the preloader comes in. I want to put a preloader at the very beginning of the page that will play as the entire site is being loaded, so when the user clicks through, each page shows up quickly and seamlessly.
I have created a preloader in a separate flash file, but can not get it to work with the website. How do I combine these two files to work?
i was curious on what i would need to incorparate flash to my business website rather than the service we are using currently. We have noticed that the flash images on our website are having issues loading and getting stuck currectly.My website address is http:[url]... there is flash type images at the top of the page as well as the middle.
I am having trouble adding a flash banner to my website and I am running php5. I want to use it to help my site sell the new iPad 2. Which product do I need to use to create the flash banner and display photos that I am selling on my auction?
Ive got an AS3 XML gallery thats all working fine, but I would like to add links to each image. Ideally I need to be able to add fully qualified links to each image individually via the XML document. my actionscript looks like this:
// delay between slides const TIMER_DELAY:int = 5000; // fade time between slides const FADE_TIME:int = 3;
how do I go about putting a simple photo gallery with about 3 or 4 different images on my website. methe programs that I need to sownload and any other useful materials that would be needed to get this completed.
I have a very nice picture gallery made in CS3 / AS3. I managed to personalize it and all. But, I have difficulty with (or no clue... actually), how to add a precious and next button to it(image).This is the link for the zip file, containing all the neccesary files: URL...And in the attachment I pointed out where I prefer to have these two buttons.
I have a thumbnail gallery that gets its images from an xml file, at the moment if there are more than 8 thumbs they go off the page to the right, I'd like to have it so they continue to load in rows and columns but I'm not sure how I'd do this? I limited the images in the xml to 8 and duplicated the mc and xml to get the look, but it needs to really be updatable from the one xml file. Heres the Actionscript-
I'm creating a flash portfolio which contains a 3D panel as a gallery which works relatively well right now. I wanted to put a preload so I put my preload code on the first frame and order to gotoandPlay(2) the second frame which works to but when the loading is done my 3D panel is totally ignored, the panel works with a class of course. Actually the problem seems to be more with the frame skip because I put my preload code in commentary and just having a frame before screws up my panel.
I am using a local computer and will only be running the flash app on locals. I want users to have access to a gallery which I built with xml and to be able to add to the gallery. I thought I could do it with an append child to the xml but flash cant write to file. I was going to use filereference and then save the file in the flash folder and add the new object to the xml file, but this is the wrong route.
What I want to do is to make a gallery based on the tutorial gallery here (thumbs), but I want the user to be able to choose different galleries from within the movie. I figured that I could make a loop to cycle through the galleries, then nest another loop inside it to cycle through the pics, captions and thumbs. While I wrote, I constantly tested the output with trace commands, but when I tried nesting the loop I lost all output.. I'm pretty new to both Flash and Actionscript, so if theres an obvious solution I havent been able to see it.. This is my temp XML file:
I've got a domain name that currently points to a .swf flash gallery on my webserver [URL] To clarify, the domain name itself is simply pointing to the location of the flash gallery hosted on my other site...so it looks like: [URL]The flash gallery itself just reads data from an XML file on where the images and thumbnails are stored, etc.
I just updated the gallery today, adding pictures that I had taken over the past weekend. While I've uploaded all the images/thumbnails, when I visit the site in my browser (Firefox), it still comes up as the old gallery, without the additions I added today. However, if I visit it in IE (and several of my friends have visited it on their PCs and told me the same thing), they are able to see the new albums and images.
