ActionScript 3.0 :: Make FLV Type Controls On A Animation Sequence

If I am making a flash animation sequence (no video) is it possible to make complex controls similar to a FLV skin. I was able to make a toggle button to pause and play timeline and sound but wanted more features; go back, start over and maybe a progress bar with timing show length or just a time counter of your swf and you current place in the timeline. I thought this would be easy but I'v been searching and can't find any answers, so is it possible? Client is looking to replicate or something like this link or better. how to swap to a new keyframe from a animated sequence. I'll try to explain clearer if I can. I have a button that when clicked on an animated sequence starts and the panel slides along which is fine but I can't seem to click on the back button to start a reversed sequence - I want it to slide back to the start page... so the user can click back and forth.
I've uploaded an example - squidgeye....co....uk if you click on the 'hello' button then click the arrow the sequence starts - I got the back button to have a slight colour change when the mouse goes over but that's it! I'm now stumped... and it's really annoying! I have the initial page on keyframe 1, then the animated slide on keyframe 2 - I was trying to put the reverse animated slide on keyframe 3.... but I'm now confused... I'm sure there was a better way but I'm a total newbie
How can I create animation in sequence? As soon as one motion ends, how can I get a second motion to begin? I would like to make item 1 move and then item 2 move. etc, while item 1 disappears or remains stationary.0
I typically try and stay away from adding a flash animation that has 3 static text links to a Dreamweaver html file but my client requested it. Basically, I have this flash animation as an swf file and need to have 3 links inside the swf file open to a page below.Please see the way my site is structured below. I am not sure if I need to edit the links more in flash with more action script code or if there is an easy way to integrate it. I was thinking of basically having the animation play and then load to a second scene with a png and links inside of it but I would prefer to learn how to do this in code or within the flash file.
Also, when I try and use a static text link it won't recognize what I have below as an actual link. Does anyone know what the proper format to write a link in flash is so it will pull a div box to load below? I guess the formatting in link (see the chain icon text) is an unrecognized protocol and I am used to the Dreamweaver formatting of links.
Very often I see on the web many flash websites very amazing for their animation in flash. For example, in monster template you can see the paper's animation like that: http:[url].... Watch the BEST DESIGN STUDIO animation... These animations aren't made with flash, but with a software from which to export a swf file that contains a sequence of shapes.What is it? It seems to work in 3d, but the objects moved are always planes and not 3d models.

As you can see (hopefully), I need the movieclip to be released by stopDrag and it must also overlap with the CH1_btn button before the URLRequest can proceed. But what I'm getting now is the mouse loses control of the temperature_small movieclip when it contacts the CH1_btn (I keep moving the mouse around, but the movieclip remains stuck with the CH1_btn button). The trace didn't work and the URLRequest didn't proceed as well.
I am trying to seamlessly loop specific layers containing .swf or .flv movies infinitely, independent of other layers in the timeline.I have attempted to use the gotoAndPlay("x"); method, but the target layer always freezes on the last frame for about .5 seconds before executing the gotoAndPlay command. The only situation in which it doesn't freeze is when frame "x" is the first frame of the project.No other actionscript is being used anywhere else in this project

I was trying to execute my thickbox on click of the button with id btnInfo. the code below works, ive seen it work in another flash file. i guess there is a deceleration on the top that i missed. I'm trying to figure out how to make a slide bar that would control opacity. If I were to take to pictures on top of each other, the slide bar would control the opasity of the top image.
I've made a slide show with three pieces of audio that are set up to play with certain images.So you can imagine when the video is paused but the sound continues playing everything gets a bit messed up.
I have each audio on a different layer and none of them overlap, just fade in/out to one another.[code]...
I want to make an application in AS 3 in which a XML will be read and it contains all the tracks that I want to be played. But every movie must be played in fullscreen, and the transaction can't be seen by the spectators. So who is seeing the playlist must not see what is 'behind the movie'. Only movies being played sequentially in fullscreen. Is it possible to be made?
today i wrote my first "if" "else" conditional statement and it worked,I have a movieclip nested four levels deep inside other movieclips.It consists of some basic buttons and some artwork indicating what page your on. But i dont want this (i'll call it "navMovieClip")to be visible at all times because its an eye sore. I only want this movieclip to be visible when the mouse moves. Once the mouse moves, the movieclip will fade in, once the mouse stops moving, the movieclip will fade out, UNLESS they stop with the mouse OVER the "navMovieClip".
This is a really easy one that I thought would be easily found on google but I can't think of the terminology. I'm using CS4 and AS3 with a few multi-line dynamic text boxes beneath one another. When I populate the top text box I would like it to automatically push down the other text boxes beneath it when the content flows on to extra lines.
At the moment it only wraps to the gap that is between each text box but then stops when reaching the text box beneath. Is there a property to allow for this (I've worked in Silverlight and there was on controls there) that I can just set or will I have to manually implement this and call functionality to re-set all the controls y properties each time I change the text in the text box?
I have a gallery of 30 plus images. The user will then use a scroll bar to flip through them. The images actually make up a sequence so I dont want to preload each one one at a time. I am also pulling in the images dynamically. Below is a bit of the code I am using. What I would like to have is all of the images preload on one frame and then once that is done go to frame two where I have the rest of the code for gallery manipulation.
I'm looking for will all happen in about two or three seconds. I'm re-building my own website using AS3 package classes. When the API loads I want everything to appear in sequence from invisible to visible. First the logo, a few lines drawing themselves, then all the navigation buttons at the top appearing in a quick-fire horizontal row, then the content rolls in, etc. I want strict, accurate control over about two or three seconds, of how and when everything on stage goes from invisible to visible in a quick-fire sequence. I know it can all be done with several timers for each alpha going from 0 to 1. But can all the variables going from alpha 0 to 1 be bundled into an Array? And the Array fired by ONLY ONE Timer using a For Loop? Or am I just barking up the wrong tree? Should I just use a bunch of Timers? I want to avoid a Tween because I want very accurate control of the quick-fire invisible to visible effect. And I want it to be easy to change later. Can this effect be done by ONLY ONE Timer rather than several Timers? And if it can, how do I make the timer fire all variables in strict sequence? Do I use an Array with a For Loop? Or something else? I've been looking for a couple of days but still haven't found anything close.
The scenerio: I am trying to make a very simple flight simulator type of animation. When the user presses and holds an arrow key, things move/rotate. The problem: If you alternate moving/rotating things in different directions, the location/rotation of these things becomes skewed. They seem to rotate or move more in one direction than another. For instance, if you play around with the animation for a while, the background is moved or rotated so far in one direction that you can eventually see the edge of the background movieclip. I have tried to tween these things back to the propper location but it just does not look good at all.
i have the controls for car number 1 that would be the arrow keys if [code]but how can i make controls for car 2.i wann use wasd but i cant figure out how the key.a doesnt work.

My question is; How can I get this timer to reset and run again after the nextFrame() has triggered.
Does anyone have a link to a tutorial that will show me how to make an image gallery that has an automatic slideshow with manual controls, a multi-page thumbnail bank with manual controls, and a preloading system that would be good for about 160 images at about 1024x680? I don't really know any useful actionscript, and I've managed to find a hodge-podge of tutorials but I don't know how to tie in all the parts to make what I want.[url]...
I have a 400x300 area that needs to detect a rollover and animate several buttons, text fields, etc. sliding into it when the mouse rolls into the area so that they can be manipulated, and animate them sliding out when the mouse rolls out of the area to hide them from view. (example here: [URL])
What is the best way to do this? The only way I have got it to work so far is by using a listener to track mouse position, but it's not reliable since you can move the mouse quickly in some areas of the movie and the listener doesn't catch it.
I'm trying to make Windows Media Player style controls into my movie. I know how to do stop, play, and pause already, but I don't know how to do the progress bar. I tried searching in the actionscript help menu. I couldn't find any actions that retrieve total frames in the movie and current frame number.
