View 4 Repliesi am trying to make a flash version of my company catalog. i've got the nifty page turning thing working fine. what i am trying to do now is have it so that when you click on a page, it loads a larger version of that page into a blank mc holder. i can get it to load the image no problem. what i CAN'T seem to figure out is how to make the image scroll so that the viewers can see the entire thing.
i need to constrain the size of the holder mc and then have the image inside move with the mouse movement. clicking the image will empty the holder mc and return the viewer to the main catalog.open the catalog and on the first page you will see a temp blue button. clicking that will open the LARGE page view (i know they don't match, this is just a demo ). i need to be able to scroll that large image. still nowhere.
I'm currently learning Flex, and am having the hardest time getting scroll bars to work. In short, I'm making a giant form for users to fill out, contained within a viewstack component. The user will type up information in one view, and it will be displayed in the other. But right now in the first canvas I have components that run off the screen and flex doesn't automatically add a scroll bar, so I added 'verticalScrollPolicy="on"' to my canvas. Now, while it gives me a scroll bar, it gives me an empty scroll bar. I still cannot move it up or down, meaning components are still trapped off the bottom of my screen. I want to get my text to auto scroll vertically it is for a news section for one of my customers... I am loading the text from an external txt file. I have got everything to work but can figure out how to make it auto scroll itself.
View 6 RepliesI have a web app built in Flash Builder 4.5. Its dimensions are 1150 x 900. When I try to view it on a smaller monitor or lower resolution, I can only scroll horizontally. I need it to scroll vertically. Is there a setting I am missing or could it be something else. I am not going to post any code at this time because I do not believe it is a syntax issue. Now if I start the application the MyComp-component is about 200px wide and starts to expand its width to infinity. This is like some transition or animation and I don't know how to stop it. Setting something like maxWidth would solve the issue, but I don't want to set explicit values.

It just goes straight to the bottom then snaps back up to the top, making it impossible to really view and click on the images in the bottom and center rows. When you click on the bottom navigation on one of the longer pages in order to get to another shorter page, you land on the same place where the bottom navigation was on the page before; ie you land at the bottom of the page.
How can I get around this so that every time you land on a new page it has scrolled to the top?
I want to make a scrollbar of a dynamic text continuous when clicking up or down ie when holding the mouse down the text should scroll and when MOUSE_UP the text should stop scrolling. I tried making it with ENTER_FRAME Event but it happens too fast(when i click once the text scrols by 3-4 lines).
I would like to apply the hold effect, like when you press down in your browser window for example: the page first holds for a second and then start to scroll. I hope you get the idea. How to acomplish this in AS3?
