Actionscript 3.0 :: How To Make A Scroll Continuous

I want to make a scrollbar of a dynamic text continuous when clicking up or down ie when holding the mouse down the text should scroll and when MOUSE_UP the text should stop scrolling. I tried making it with ENTER_FRAME Event but it happens too fast(when i click once the text scrols by 3-4 lines).
I would like to apply the hold effect, like when you press down in your browser window for example: the page first holds for a second and then start to scroll. I hope you get the idea. How to acomplish this in AS3?

'm still rather new to AS3, I'm trying to make a roll_over scroll function however I've only got it to move a little bit each roll over, I'd like it to continuously do so until the mouse has come off the button area

way to achieve the following continuous scroll effect - I want to simulate a circular room with 12 (numbered) doors in it. There are 'sights' over the 3 middle doors. The sights remain in the same place, but when you press the left or right arrow key the clip of the 12 doors scrolls in that direction and stop at the next door. When you scroll to the right of door 12, door 1 then becomes visible again.

I've started doing an XML gallery. I've been going through the AS3 XML Grid Image Gallery tutorial on Republic of Code
Except I want the thumbnails to do a horizontal continuous scroll, instead of being set out on a grid.
Now that in AS3 I can't use duplicateMovieClip. Is there anyway to make it loop without repeating the nodes in my XML?

I just downloaded Blue Chi's advanced image gallery few days back and converted into grid gallery in AS2. However I am stuck with 2 things:
1) How to make the gallery endlessly scrollable in a efficient way. I used duplication method but the trick used is noticeable when it axis matches with stage mask
2) Also, I am not able to control mouseOver and mouseOut scrolling.

I know ZERO about flash/actionscript and have been tasked with creating a vertical text/html scroller. This would act like a news ticker but would scroll several paragraphs of text with images vertically continuously.
Here is a sample of the data that i would like to scroll vertically:
<image>
some text here
some more text
<image>
more text
more text
This pattern would repeat and the script would continuously scroll the information. I will be pulling that data from XML as HTML but i think i have that part under control. Just cant seem to get a sample of scrolling html/text.

I want to make a slideshow that when you hold down the next button, it keeps cycling through the images, I tried a for loop but that went to fastwhen yo uclick the button it cycles through, but you have to keep pressing for it to change, I just want the user to be able to hold it downif you want a better understanding of what I am trying to do go to alienware's new case flash introif you go through the long intro and click the "click to see 3d model" that is essentially what I am trying to do, only instead of hovering your mouse over the image I want the user to just click the next buttonalso, is there anyway to allow the images to preload?

I am making a cloud background continuously loop using actionscript, however the image cuts itself off. I was following the tutorial at: [URL]. I attached a picture of what it looks like. Here's my code(very similar to above websites code)

This code is all in a movieclip named bg_mc. The width of cloudsMC is 1500 px. Why the image cuts off as it scrolls to the left?

i have succesfully managed to encode / create an .FLV file which now plays back in my .swf file. The picture and sound are great when streaming off the web!
how do i command the file to play back in a continous loop? at present it plays and then rewinds back to the begining.
i have investigated some of the .FLV parameters but can't seem to find the control / command i'm looking for.

I recently found this thing, Caurina Tweener. And want to substitute Flash own manual Motion tween with this. But I having problem with this:
1. How do I loop / make Caurina Tweener continuous? (AS2)
If I take some code from the example reference

I couldn't find this in the reference manual.
What I want is to use Caurina Tweener instead of flash own manual Motion tween (where I set a keyframe and a stop keyframe and set motion tween between these frames)

I am having difficulty figuring out how to make a background soundtrack play continuously while my actual timeline will loop before the audio file is finished.
The way I have it set up now, every time the playhead loops back onto frame1, the audio track begins playing on top of the last one, making it utter cacophony. Even after a few seconds it becomes utter madness as 3 versions of the same song are playing simultaneously.

How do I make it to where the player moves and the background moves with it. I also have a gravity command to so, what is the code that tells the other objects to detect if the player moves and if he does move in what ever direction..... no they can't be added into the arrow keys movement. already tried and it is not working, because when he is falling the things don't scroll.

I recently bought a flash template to use for my photography business. I really like it except the scroll behavior is absolutely terrible on monitors under 27 inches. It just goes straight to the bottom then snaps back up to the top, making it impossible to really view and click on the images in the bottom and center rows. The website is hereI emailed the company to ask them foron fixing this problem, but they've only said "We're investigating the problem" and its been nearly a week now. I would like to get it so the scroll is slower and is only activated at the edges of the window. I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post at, I am just desperate to get the galleries to be easier to browse through before I start handing out business cards

I have an AS2 site where all the pages are different lenghts and have navigation at the top and the bottom.
When you click on the bottom navigation on one of the longer pages in order to get to another shorter page, you land on the same place where the bottom navigation was on the page before; ie you land at the bottom of the page.
How can I get around this so that every time you land on a new page it has scrolled to the top?

okay, another option i have is just plainly making my movieclip scroll. I know its possible, i just have no idea how. I have a UIScrollBar with my MovieClip, and i did change the scrollTargetName to the InstanceName of the movieClip. still not working.

scroll wheel works fine on screens where webpage has no scroll bar. On a 1024x768 res screen the webpage with map requires scroll bars at side, design beyond my control.
