when i try to read this info in flash, the and change to "e" and "E" and i can't understant why. frst i thought i could be some kind of problem with the font but its not. i traced de xml file right after loading it and it had already changed

View 5 RepliesI created a Contact Form with Flash 4 on a website: [URL]. When I fill out the form in the "Contatti" TAB (contacts) and click on "invia" (submit) the email browser opens correctly (Entourage) but the text in the site form does not appear in it.

I have a dynamic text field in flash that is populated by an input box. The dynamic text field has a maxmium width it can be. So i have it as multiline WITH wodrwap on. My problem is that I have to send this data to server and for the php to be able to text the text and output the text as it is displayed in flash. There seems to be no way of finding the linebreaks and passing them in the string as far as I can see?

In my actionscript I have created a number variable called livesnum. And then beneath that I'm setting the textfields value to be the livesnum variable but I get the following error:
1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Number to an unrelated type String.
My actionscript is as follows :

I am creating a flash website with as storefinder.. There is an input text field in flash and a search button which when pressed will load a javascript function that uses the input text var.
i can call the function using this method - getURL("javascriptpenMap()", "", "POST");
but how can i pass it the variable from my input text field?
I'm having a problem getting my data from input text fields to pass to the ASP script using getURL and "POST". The input fields have var of email and password. The form works fine when an html form passes the same variables.

So I'm building a little contact form in flash and it works, but it is passing along all of the font styling information into the email sent to the client. Kind of annoying. I want it just to send the plain text.

I've had a site running for a few months that takes fourinput text boxes (name, e-mail, subject and message) and posts thevalues to an ASP page which composes an e-mail with a CDO.Messagecommand. i'm pulling my hair over this. i have sucessfully (verified) loaded an xml file and can trace the data i'd like to pass. i am loading the external swf into an empty mc called X. in the external swf i am loading is a mc and in there is a dynamic textfield. i give the content of the xml to the path to the dynamic textfield and nothing happens. trying to pass the variable with: target.text = content;
i listed the variables and objects in the test movie debug option (command+enter) and i can see the dynamic text box variable. then i took copied the path from the output window to my actionscript, replaced _level0 with _root but still to no avail. what am i doing wrong? do i have to publish the swf being loaded in a certain way? why am i able to look at the variables in the debug list variables and objects option, but not in the actionscript?
I am trying to pass information to a many dynamic text fields when rolling over various movieclips that are generated using a loop. I have tried everything I know but can not get pahting to work prpoerly. The rollover works in that the curser changes by does not execute the lines of code within the in line function.(see red, bolded text (towards bottom) for problem). the Attached zipped swf is what it looks like as is.

Creating a flash project where users can visit the site, and turn off/on objects in a house (ie. lights, tv, computer, etc.) The next user who will visit the house in the website, will see what lights or house appliances were left on. Flash variables are passed to PHP, and those variables are saved in an XML file. (For testing to see what is being saved to the XML file, on each click --vars.xml opens.) In the vars.xml file, I see that the house objects that were last turned on--are saved in the XML file- But in the SWF file, only one of the objects that are listed in the XML are turned ON. Only the last object that was clicked on would show ON--not all the objects in the XML file.)

So when a user uploads their image, the file name of the file is passed to flash so that the image displays within the Flash UILoader application. I have a web application with an HTML5 video player, and I've been asked to get it to work as an AIR app. So far so good, except that there is a bug in jPlayer that requires you to use absolute file paths for media if you're using flash fallback. I need to get the file path of the app: or appstorage: directory on a users machine, and pass that to javascript so that the player can find my videos.

I have to pass some variables to the flash movie (movie.swf?var1=aaa&var2=bbb). never had a problem with using them before.I've read around a lot an tried different coding, but when I export the swf I got the error, that root is unknown...doesn't matter, if I use one of this

So, I read the tutorial about passing variables by changing the url of the .swf with the following code:

i have 1 PHP page in which i have a Flash animation. this flash swf file, display 2 fields and 1 button.
this php page is called "test.php".
i'm able to send data from Flash to a PHP page, but i would like to send the content of those 2 fields to the "test.php" and display them. however, i do not know how to do it.
i see that it works but i'm not able to display or refresh the PHp page to display the result.
as walkaround i was thinking to collect the webpage address where is executed the flash and to send it to another PHP page. and this 2nd PHP page, will reload the test.php with parameters...
how to get under flash, the address of the actual executed php page ?
