It is quite same as search bar in Flash Kit website , it is having the word "Search Flash Kit" but when the user click on the text field the word get disappear.

Is it possible to login through flash using one Dynamic Text Field and one Input Text Field and no buttons? If so how? I have seen many tutorials dealing with logging in to PHP using flash but it requires you to make your own php scripts which i am not familiar with. Can some one tell me how to do this with PHPBBs existing php scripts... View 2 RepliesI'm making a calculator using Flash MX that works the same way as the basic calculator found on windows (not the scientific one). But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.

I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.

I want to create an input text field that can be editable by the user and essentially when they click submit it turns this into HTML code with p, br, strong and em tags.
I don't know if it is possible, I assume it would be, but my searches are not turning up much.
I want the user to be able to select a section of text and click a B button to surround that selected text with strong tags, same for italics.
I also want to give the ability to at least record when the user presses enter in order it insert p tags and maybe even br tags if they press shift+enter
I'm trying to pass text from an input text in frame 1 to a dynamic text field in frame 10. Thus when the user enters text and clicks the submit button it takes them to frame 10 and shows them what they typed. It's not working but I'm not getting any errors. Here's the link:

I just noticed that when you place a text field on the stage using code:

It does not look the same as a text field that I placed on the stage in the Flash editer. The text created by code has very harsh edges, but the other text has smooth edges. How can I get my code TextField to look like the editor Text Field?

I am using Flash CS3. Form has 4 text fields as in this image. [url].... Instance names for fields are t1, t2, t3, t4, and Variable names are as shown in the action script description. When i run the flash, Form looks ok but without the placeholder text, as Name or email etc.
I'm working on a program that requires a random number between 320-370 to be generated. For the sake of this post, let's say the result is 345 (Figure A). That number is then divided by 1,000, which gives me 0.345, then the thousandths spot is removed via a *100--> round --> /100 technique, leaving 0.35 (Figure B). So, the whole point of generating these numbers is that they will later be used to evaluate what a user has entered into two input text boxes. If the number entered into Input Text A matches Figure A, correct, and if the number entered into Input Text B matches Figure B, correct.
Everything works perfectly EXCEPT when Figure B ends with the number 3 or 4 in the hundredths position. The Input Text B won't evaluate correctly, and I can't quite make sense of it. So, if Figure A is 331, Figure B becomes .33. User enters .33 into Input Text B, and it absolutely will not evaluate correctly. However, all other numbers in the hundredths spot seems to work fine.

You've seen those Input Text Fields on web sites that have titles on them, i.e. Name, Email, Message, in the Text field itself. Then, when you click on the the text field to type something in, the "title" disappears and you can type your info in. Perfect example: [URL] (Under "contact")

If I have an input text field on frame 1 and I enter text in it then I have a button that say sends me to frame 2. On frame 2 I have a button which sends me back to frame 1. Why when I got back to frame 1 is my text not shown?Why does an input text field go blank when leaving the frame? How can I make it so when i enter text on frame 1 and then go to frame 2 and then back to frame 1 the text i entered is still there?

Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.

Jus inncase it's nt really clear, I'm using a javascript contact form whereby users will add in details such as name, etc, and they're also required to input some details in the .swf (the input in the flash is a must). After they're submitted the input in the flash (as seenn in the link above), the detail will be send together with the rest of the details from the contact form.
I am having a problem getting my xml to filter based on the contents of an input text box.
I have:

I need to place a limit on my user input field. In this case I want one of the user input field to have a range of 0-10 and the other one to have a range of 0-59. So far all I have been able to do is this:
mins_input.restrict = "0-9";
mins_input.maxChars=2;
The result is my user can only input numbers but the numbers have a range up till 99! How do I put the results of my input field into my actionscript? I'm making a timer with an input interface.
