I cannot get this to work though, I'm asking for a solution to this, either fixing what I have below or a recommendation on a different way.One of the columns of my DataGrid has an object derived from a ComboBox for an ItemEditor. The itemEditor is set like this:

I'm about to have to write a web page/app that will serve the agenda for circa 100 people on a page. One line per person, one column per day with 3 clickable zones in each cell. In HTML, the page is way complex for the browser to load quick and there is no possibility to click on a border between 2 cells to for example split an event that spreads among several cells. So I search an not too overkilling technology to render this kind of view. I begun with a PHP generated HTML page but the number of elements in the page make the mouse move jerky.
Moving to JAVA would give me better performances regarding the reuse of the generator of the view but it will still be an HTML page. So, here is my question: do you think that going forward with JAVA and its graphical capability is the simple solution or is Flash a better option for this part of a Web App? I'm afraid of the code I'll have to write in JAVA to handle the GUI presentation as well as the events generated by the 1000's cells plus borders of the page. In Flash, the graphical part seems simpler even if the actions handling is still huge.
If I have a ComboBox component on stage and it has 11 options in it, is it possible to populate a dynamic text field with text based on which one of the 11 options are selected?ComboBox has instance name of 'age' and has 11 options to choose from (Opt1, Opt2, Opt3, Opt4, Opt5, etc.).There are also 11 dynamic text fields (instance and variable names of c1, c2, c3, etc.). I want the text fields to be blank unless the corresponding option is chosen. Ive tried tons of tutorials, I think that it has something to do with me using flash mx 2004, and as2 turned on.
What I have atm is a combobox with types of products in it. How do I populate a new combobox using the product names from an external xml file? I've already loaded the xml file so I don't need that code. What I want is for the names of the products in the label and the child number in the data field (product.type.name[n] - I want n in the data field).

In the arrayCollection, I've got the Name listed twice. I've got two rows in the Datagrid.
If I set the ComboBox's labelfield to Name, then the Name will be listed twice in the ComboBox menu. Is there a way to use this arrayCollection and have each Name listed only once in the comboBox?
I can always make another loop and array collection for the Name, but I was wondering if there were a better way.

I am trying to populate a ComboBox from a ColdFusion component. The cfc is simply querying a db to get a list of products.
However, the code I am placing in the Actions panel:

doesn't appear to be working correctly. The only result I see is a blank box that when I hit the arrow, the first item in the query is returned. From what I have read, I thought that the code above would be all I need. So I'm not sure why:
1. The first item is not automatically selected
2. The rest of the list is not there.
I'm currently working on a project where I have a user defined list of urls which is saved in a local SO. When the movie is loaded the ComboBox is populated with the values from the SO (Stored as array inside SO).I want to give users the option to remove items from this list. I have a 850 by 480 px grid. For every keystroke i am looping through an array to check if input textfield is matching object keyword, and then create cells that cover the whole grid.
But i am not sure how to populate the grid. The range is between 0 and 300, and the user input decides how many cells i have to create.
If the result is 4, i should create a two by two table. If it's 64, i should have a eight by eight table.

In the person name column I have an combobox with all the people on then system's names and id's. I was using the script on the [URL] page to upload files and I get 403 on my mediatemple grid server. (It works fine on localhost). I tried adding the following to .htaccess:

But it gives me Internal Server Error - 500
I'm attempting to view Shared Object data in my FMS Administration Console, but I consistently get the error:Object encoding error; terminating connection.I'm using Flex 3 with FMS 3.5, I'm positive that everything is using AMF3. The Shared Objects do seem to work. I can connect to the shared object through another instance of the app and pull saved data but they are not inspectable in the administration console. Also,very often when a new instance connects to the server I get a RangeError and all of my Flash Player instances crash.

I have installed FMS on windows2003 std on a dedicated server. The server was running windows media services, shoutcast and IIS6 I have killed all these services and am just running FMS so as far as i know port 80 is not in use I can connect the encoder using this address rtmpt://xx.xx.xx.xx:1935/live Does anyone know why i cant just use rtmp://
also if i load the interactive tab on the index page in the webroot, I can connect and i can view the stream but no matter what code i use to embed the player, they all fail to connect yet i can view the stream on the interactive tab.
