ActionScript 3.0 :: Send A Few Pieces Of POST Information, And Then Load Up The Output Of The Script?
Sep 16, 2009
WHen I was learning AS2, it seemed incredibly easy to double it with PHP, but I am having a pretty hard time with AS3.Basically, all I need to do is do the same kind of thing that loadVars could in AS2. Just need to send a few pieces of POST information, and then load up the output of the script.I found this piece of code on the internet:
ActionScript Code:
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.mydomain.com/feed/myfeed?query=youlike&start=34");[code].........
But it doesn't work (when I replace the url with my URL, of course.)
I am unable to produce the kind of synchronization effects I would like to in ActionScript. The issue is that I need to make several external calls to get various pieces of outside information in response to a user request, and the way items will be laid out on the page is dependent on what each of these external calls returns. So, I don't care that all of these calls return asynchronously. However, is there any way to force some amount of synchronization on ActionScript, so that at least calling the method for doing the final layout and placement of items on the page is dependent on all of my calls finishing?
Im building a reservation form, using actionscript and php. I use sendAndLoad to send variables to php via POST, which returns a different HTTP POST response in case of sucess or not.
Is there anyway to "read" HTTP POST responses with actionscript?
I have recently designed a children's educational game that is completed, however; it is a puzzle and the puzzle pieces can be dropped on top of each other and they hide behind eachother which I do not want to happen. I would like the game pieces to automatically get pushed off to the side of the other puzzle pieces that are in use...not stacked on top of each other. The game is complete except for this one problem.
I am building a Flash site and I want to be able to allow the user to post dynamically produced information to their Facebook wall, but I can't find out any information within the Facebook developers documentation.
Its simple enough in Javascript/HTML:
<script type="text/javascript"> function callPublish(msg, attachment, action_link) { FB.ensureInit(function () {
[Code].....
As you can see I don't want to create sessions or login or anything complicated, just post to info to their wall.
I'm trying to find out if there is a way to output serial information from flash. For instance, I have a serial port (Can also be USB) device with eight relay switches, each one triggered by a few bits and bytes correlating to the serial pins. I was wondering if the print function in flash could be forced to output specific signals.
I am trying to save information that I have displaying in my output panel to a .txt fille. I have tried this tutorial here: [URL] but it is not working for me.
I have the output panel displaying information such as:
PHP Code:
[URL]
I need to somehow save this information to a text file so I can forward it onto my email. Or if anyone knows a way to forward information from the output panel to your email
Currently I'm making a Designer (tShirt Designer) application. What it does up till now is let you put simple tekston the front and back (the front resides on frame 1 and back on frame 2), it lets you upload an image scale, rotate and position it.
Now what I'm curious about and don't know anything of is how do I send this information to the responsible company or server or email that print/make these shirts. I though about a simple way of sending it the same as you do a email form, but then it made me realise, how does the company know, how, where and how big the text or image must be.
I'm using AlivePDF in a project, and this is actually the first time I've used it. I've gotten it to work just fine except for when I send the PDF file to a server. The problem is the save() function makes a few assumptions:
1. it assumes I don't need to send any other information along with the PDF file.
2. It assumes I want to pop open another page.
3. It assumes that Flash doesn't need to know what's happened to the file after it was sent.
What I want to do is send the PDF file along with some other data with a URLRequest, and then get the response back from the server, and depending on the response move on. AlivePDF seems to have this "one size fits all" function for sending the PDF to the server. has anyone dealt with this before? Any resources I can look at? I've been all over Google trying to find answers, but I'm kind of at a loss.
Example of code which would be used to send a bunch of variables to a PHP script via flashThis would require the PHP script to load when the data is sent.I want to use this for a Flash event calender which triggers more information about the event to appear in a HTML area of the page when an event is clicked on. The PHP file would be the same file that the SWF is embeded in so the FLASH file would reload the page with the variable sent to the PHP. The PHP would use this variable to select the right content from a MySQL database.
i have a template made of flash and in the page of "contact us"i have 4 boxes of input text in the stage - for the client phone etc'.i have a "send" button and a "clear" button under these boxes.but i don't know the action script for these buttons at all.by tell me the code for these buttons (and what kind of email account i can direct this information to: shouls it be a web mail - like these you get from the hosting company - or it can be a simple email account - like gmail or hotmail..)
I am trying to get down to the bottom of my problem with a contact form I'm using for a client. My code is as follows:
[code]...
The issue I'm having is that when I hit the submit button on my form, it doesn't send the information through. It just stays stuck on sending.... and doesn't send any information. I then ran a test with an even simpler code:Just to see if it was even connecting and I recieved this error:
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "127.0.0.1" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in
D:hostingmembershieldvhmmailtest.php on line 2
Now I don't have access to the host server because I'm not the owner. I just designed the site for the client and I have been having these issues with the form. I did test it on my server and everything worked fine which led me to believe that the problem lies in the php settings of their host server. I contacted the host server and this is what they sent me: "Dear client, 127.0.0.1 is localhost which you cannot use to send email. Please make use of your mail server to and send and provide SMTP authentication to the remote server. Note that the FROM address has to be the same as login email.
I am trying to get my flash application to send a request back to the webserver so that it can get some information. So far after reading on stackoverflow for a while and on the net I have some code written, but its not quite working right. I need just a little help tying it all together.
I am trying to send some variables from my actionscript 3.0 to PHP file.. but if i am using POST method I am getting an error instead if I use GET method it is working fine but then there comes the security issue. All my variables are displayed in URL which I dont want to happen. This is my code:
Is it possible to embed a flv into a swf and then run it thru an arbitrary flash player and be able to send information from the swf to a destination of my choice?The information could be some variable that is sent when the movie starts playing etc

What I need to do is have a button download a installer using Post with added values to download.What I have to mix is this:Peices needed frokm HTML form:
I want to create a movie clip where the user can adjust it selecting various colors shapes characters etc etc...and add someones email address to sent! From that movie clip...a snapshot is taken and sent over to php (in binary code or not) and from there php will send it to that someone the user chose before in Flash... Is it just me or am i thinking the wrong way!?
I am having a little trouble sending an xml string to an HTTPService an Actionscript3 (see code below). Basically, I am trying to send a georss xml string for conversion into another format. I am getting an ioError and suspect the xml is causing havoc with the services parser. I know this approach is probably not the best, but this is where I am at.
I have developed a facebook application in which I am sending data from Flash to Php.Its actually a game based on Flash 8 and at the end I send data by using
loadVarsNum()
using POST method to flash but the problem is this data can be easily tampered so I want know that how can I secure my data from theft or any hack
I have a problem with sending email from a flash contact form using ASP. I'm trying to send data to ASP with the POST method, and then send an e-mail using ASP code, but it doesn't work. In fact, when pressing the submit button in a Flash contact form, in IExplorer nothing happens, and in Mozilla I get a message Waiting for[code]...
I'm making a contact page in as3 and I need some help. How do I send post data to a php page on this web page http://parallels.fm. Basically I have three dynamic text fields and a submit button. If I can send post data from that page to a php page that would be great.
