i'm a little noob about As3 indeed i'm three days since my first exam on flash, and i'm almost done completing my personal site.
I have followed a tutorial to built a simple music player with play stop and mute buttons and only one track loaded. And it's working fine when i try the site on my computer, but when i upload the flash site on altervista and test it online the track file isn't loading

I am working on a website and I've run into a bit of a wall. I want to make the site so that users can choose English or Spanish but I dont want it to load both versions of the site at the beginning. Can I somehow have [url].. default in Spanish lets say and then have a redirect link to [url]... Will that force me to buy two separate domains?

I threw together a fla to spike some code. At some point, it's lost it's fidelity. It was telling me I couldn't debug the file because it didn't contain AS3. It did.Then, I found that there was an extra dot in my code, which was not caught during auto-format or syntax checking.I removed the extra dot, and then I started to notice bugs. I got runtime errors that a var was 21, when it is clearly set to 22. I also changed the datatype of a Vector to an Array and all of a sudden the compiler acts as if the array doesn't exist.Like I said, I was just spiking some code, and could have made some errors in there somewhere, but this is getting out of hand.[Update: I can't upload an FLA to the official Flash support site.
View 2 RepliesWhen I updated my Flash website I added new sounds to all buttons on the site. I also animated the main section buttons with a movie clip in the "over" frame. I added sound to the "down" frame of the animated buttons in the same manner that I added sound to the no n-animated buttons. When I click on one of the non-animated buttons and release, the complete sound plays.When I click on one of the animated buttons and release, the sound stops the instant I release the button. If I click on one of the animated buttons and do not release but continue to press the mouse button, the entire sound will play. How can I make the animated buttons behave like the non-animated buttons and play the entire sound even though the button is released?
View 26 RepliesI have sound that loads with the web page. Because I want to give the user the ability to mute the sound, I have a flash button to do so which works nicely.
However, if the user moves to a different page in the website, they must again mute the sound.
Is there a way to set a global variable for muting the sound that will work across the entire website?

I'm about to go on a 1000 mile charity cycle ride. I would like to be able to upload my position to the website at the end of each day - and have the site show precisely where I am on a map of the whole route - a sort of rolling image, if you like. View 1 Repliesgetting this here Flash website to work. It is an .swf that has four different buttons in it. Each different button uploads a different video thumbnail with a play-button over it. When you click on that thumbnail with the play-button over it, it goes to the thumbnailed video which automatically plays. Here is the link:

There are no bells and whistles with the html, it's just tagged and uploaded with the Fullscreen-true so that you can make the video go full-screen.
But see, when I upload the thing, the buttons no longer navigate to the different videos unless the play-button over the thumbnail is already pressed and its video is already playing. I need them to work anyways.
Has anyone seen the issue with the progess bar, when uploading on a system running Windows 7.The progress bars show 100% immediately as the upload is happening, and the site looks like its frozen out - but its not, the upload finishes and the onComplete event is fired! Only problem is that the setVolume I'm trying to use with my music is affecting all my other sounds - button sounds and background sound. I'm aware of the createEmptyMovieClip/attachSound approach and got it working on my other sounds. But Lee's tutorial-mp3player is using a slight different technique, and so my normal approach doesn't quite work.

View 1 Repliesi have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. View 2 RepliesI have a film with 4 scenes in it: Here's a link to the film and as you can see the film does not play the music the second time because of the StopAllSounds function which is probably the wrong code to use. The first scene is just a button with 1 frame, a stop action and a music clip. The second scene is the film. The third scene is the credits fourth scene is a Play again button. I have a Stop all Sounds action on the fourth scene because if I do not use it and I press the Play Again button, the music from the first song keeps playing but also the music from the film starts up again so it starts to play twice. What I want to know is, how do I get the music to stop at the end of the film but start up again once I hit Play Again?
I am using Flash CS3 if that helps and using Actionscript2.

Okay, so I am calling my scripts from the folder "php/" Thus, my FileReference calls "php/upload.php" to upload. However, my uploads are in "uploads/" and not in "php/uploads". When the PHP script is called, it apparently ignores the caller (the SWF file) and looks for uploads in its own directory (the "php/" folder). It may be a PHP question, but how do I reference the uploads folder as being in the parent directory of the php files in my PHP script?

I'm trying to save them as either a MP3 or WAV,but no matter bitrate I use for either file type, I get an error when I try to import it into Flash. I have the newest QT installed from the wormy fruit vendor, does not make a difference. I can save it as an .asnd and import it just fine, but that file type is huge.The files that give me the error open just fine by themselves in WMP
