I have a flashplayer in html page and I want it to stop the auto play function when the page loads and play whenever I click play, and I tried to play with the code and added this: <param name="Autostart" value="0" /> but it's not working. On the other hand, I set the autoplay function for the quicktime player to "false"and it worked.

Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.The following items have not worked: soundChannel.stop();,soundMixer.stopAll()

View 4 RepliesI have been following lee's tutorial on the XML driven mp3 player for a site. However, I have now gone to embed the finished file on an html page, all files for the player work individually, so if I run the SWF by itself it works fine! However, when previewing on the html page the music doesn't play and the titles don't appear. The files are all stored in a 'player' folder in the root folder, however the SWF is stored there too, so I cant imagine that's the problem, I have even tried moving all the files from the player folder directly into the root folder where the index html file is and it still doesn't work.

For some reason ever since I placed it on the html page, the page loads very slow in IE. It almost seems like it waits for the first FLV to load before showing the rest of the page. Is there a way I can let the html page load everything and then load the code for the swf video player?

Most sites I see that have video don't load the video until you push play. I am assuming this is because it is streaming and not progressive. Is there a way to have progressive downloads NOT download until someone hits the play button? Maybe that would solve my whole problem.
Im working on a website for school, and im doing it through flash. The server ive been given is being taken up by thousands of pages, so its slow. Instead of loading each page through HTML, ive decided i could do a seperate frame for each page. However, to reach the menu at the bottom, you have to scroll down. Is there any way to make it so that when you click a button to load a different page for the flash player to scroll up all the way to the top of the page itself?

View 2 RepliesI have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). I have supplied several progressive download flash videos to our web site programmer. Our web site is in PHP. All videos play well except for one thing: I would like them to start automatically. How do you change that? One the server, he added the Clear_Skin.swf, FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf and flvProgress.swf files. Are those the ones that control the autoplay action?

The example in question is to click on a link in a web page that launches a flash .swf and changes scene once loaded.
when you go to the home.html page an animation will play from start and then stop at the end of it. However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"
how to control HTML with Flash. That is not what I wish to do. I was hoping for something more along the lines of like...

And clicking the link would load up my Flash movie, which is basically just a shell that imports an XML glossary of terms, but when the page loads, it would automatically show the word "Blah" since that is the link that I clicked on in HTML.
Is this possible? I'm at about an intermediate level of understanding when it comes to AS3.0, but I haven't dabbled with manipulating XML using Flash much.

i have a site with 3 frames, the top one have a flash MC in it to navigate the site. the middle frame is where i want to load or call normal HTML pages into using the Flash MX bar in the top frame, the bottom frame isnt really important.
i have tried using the "getURL" statment in flash Mx but i cant target the frame, in flash 5 i could but in MX there's no target option when using "GetUrl".....

Do I have to use an events listener? Does anybody have an example of the action script I could use. I am using version 2.0 PS. The flv is a progressive download.

Unfortunately it won't work to have the preloader loading at the top while the rest of the html below is visible — it will end up looking like the top navigation is cut off, as the top 10 pixels of the nav bar is actually in the swf header (fully loaded it will look contiguous)Is there a way to preload it in one html page and then once it's loaded into the cache automatically jump to the page with the big swf?

I have an swf file that references an flv file. Within an html page I have used an object tag to reference the swf file. Having googled found snippets of code such as [code]whichever I use, I get the same result in IE or firefox with flash player 10, page displays but there is an empty area. A right mouse click gives about flash player 10 so something is there. This happens whether I run the html file from the directory or serve it up via a local web server.So what am I doing wrong? I have obviously misunderstood some basic stuff here. I doubt it is security settings in the browser as flash from outside websites works. I changed my intranet settings to aloow unsafe activex (to prompt) and no change.
