Oct 27, 2005Can I control layers in a htmldocument from flash? I want to control visibilty and layerorder etc, any good resources or possibilities on that?

Like, as you scroll through the choices, it is defined in the XML document which in turn makes these panels (which are movie clips) expand along with the XML controlled data displayed in the panels (in dynamic text boxes).

Jan 11, 2010I'm trying to do a presentation of some Adobe Illustrator graphics in flash for an architectural presentation. I want to zoom in on some content and have new layers fade in and out. I guess this is done by tweens, as I had some success in that direction. The problem becomes obvious when I want to control my presentation. I want to set cue points/keyframes/whatever so that the presentation will start at the click of a 'next button' or a click og the mouse. Then I want it to stop at some point when the tween/moving around of objects is done, so that I have talking time before playing the next tween with a click etc.

Feb 14, 2012I'm having an odd problem that I can't seem to resolve. I'm updating some old animations (created around 2004-2005). Most have gone without a hitch, however one file has been a problem.
First the specs: Windows 7 64bit, Master Collection CS5.5. All updated.
The problem with the file:
I can open it just fine, test the movie, etc. If I try to save the document, it fails, saying "Unable to save the document as...". I can save the file as a CS4 document, which seems to work OK. However, I need to move the contents into a new document. If I try to Copy the laters, Flash immediately crashes.

Actionscript 3.0 :: Controlling Flash Via HTML Link?
Jun 26, 2009how to control HTML with Flash. That is not what I wish to do. I was hoping for something more along the lines of like...
<a href="http://mywebsite.com/flash/page.swf?xml_item=Blah">Click here</a>
And clicking the link would load up my Flash movie, which is basically just a shell that imports an XML glossary of terms, but when the page loads, it would automatically show the word "Blah" since that is the link that I clicked on in HTML.
Is this possible? I'm at about an intermediate level of understanding when it comes to AS3.0, but I haven't dabbled with manipulating XML using Flash much.

Aug 23, 2005i have a site with 3 frames, the top one have a flash MC in it to navigate the site. the middle frame is where i want to load or call normal HTML pages into using the Flash MX bar in the top frame, the bottom frame isnt really important.
i have tried using the "getURL" statment in flash Mx but i cant target the frame, in flash 5 i could but in MX there's no target option when using "GetUrl".....

Sep 11, 2010I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.The following items have not worked: soundChannel.stop();,soundMixer.stopAll()

May 4, 20101. I am creating a Flash banner to go at the top of my website that is going to animate the name for the site one letter at a time. I have this part of the banner completed as a movie symbol that I have added to my main timeline. What I was wonder is if it is possible to set a timer or some type of pause for how long I want it to wait before looping again? I dont want to stop the looping all together but would like to maybe make it pause for 5 minutes or so before starting animation again. Keep in mind it has to be done within the movie symbol becuase I have other animation going on the main timeline that will just continuously loop.
2. Is it possible to set a flash swf to the background of a html document? The reason I ask is again with my banner I am creating I have a menu bar that is about 3/4 of the ways down the height of banner. I want me primary animation to be able to move behind this menu bar. I realise I can make the menu straight in flash adding my links directly to it, but I would perfer to handle that in straight html or whatever if possible.

Sep 29, 2010Basically, I have alot of text that needs to contain underlines and all that good formatting stuff that flash text can't do. So I created a dynamic scrolling text box, loaded in an external txt document containing all the right HTML tags for flash. But for some reason the flash cuts off the text. It won't show all the text I have. I noticed that it seems to be cutting it off in SOME (not all) areas where I have a hyperlink.

The content is loading into the flash movie, but I can't figure out how to get words bold .. I tried some CDATA as you can see but all that displays in the flash movie is <b>BOLD</b> and the rest of the content after it is just gone ...I need to be able to place the html text straight into the xml file and have it display the formatted text in the flash movie .. no clue how to achieve this .. I'm using Flash MX.

Now what i want to do: I want to be able to controll ANY of those SWFs from ANY other SWF inside that HTML file. Ex: i click 1 SWF to PLAY(); and ALL other playing SWFs will be STOP();-ped, so that only 1 SWF plays at a time.

Jan 11, 2009I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to control a flash movie from a HTML menu(anchors or buttons) without having the page reload.What I want is a flashmovie and some sort of list with links, and when a link is clicked on the movie changes its contents. There are reasons as to why I want the menu to be written out in HTML and not included in the flash movie. Can I pass information into the movie after it has been loaded?

Nov 3, 2009I have a webpage, on which I am using Ajax to replace different divs of my page against some click events.. All works fine for regular HTML... but when I want to add a SWF object tag through function

My browser shows nothing.. and no error is generated also... I am assuming that it should show the Flash movie.. I have checked it in IE 8.0, FireFox, Chrome.. none of them is working.. I have monitored the div using firebug, it is showing that div is being replaced by the Flash player code, but then why it is not being displayed in that div?
