Data Integration :: Flash Menu Disappears In Safari?

For some reason, when I edit my website in FrontPage and savehe changes, the swf file that is the menu disappears when viewedin Safari but not Internet Explorer. There is no problem when Ifirst ftp the pages...it's only AFTER I (or a client) edits thepage in FrontPage.his is the only website of mine that has this problem. I candit others all day long and not have any disappearing acts. Thesite page that is a problem is: I hate FrontPage but the client insists on being able to edit

I am trying to create a dynamic menu for a video player. Much like the one found here (MTV OverDrive. )Obviouslythis is a Flash site and I can only assume the video list is being generated via XML. I am trying to accomplish the same thing, only I am not using FCS.
I just want to create the buttons dynamically with thumbnail images and text via XML, and in turn load the video based on a button click. I have the video part working fine, using a video object, I just need to know how to create the buttons WITH THUMBS from an XML file. I can figure out how to load the video once the button is clicked. The problem is the menu itself and loading the different thumbnail with the button.I am sure it has something to do with "attachMovie,DuplicateMovie, or CreateEmptyMovieClip" but I am not sure how to do this with XML.

when iam trying to publish an flash project containing a dynamic xml menu as html file ,the menu is not showing although it is showing in the accompannying swf file,any body knows the problem??

I have a video player that is currently using XML for its video library which is all fine and dandy. Now I have some developers working on a CMS type page in PHP that is going to hopefully pass some sort of information to my player that will let it know where the video is stored on our server. Is there a way to do this without using FMS? If so does anyone have ideas where I can find the information for it.

I have a problem with the way my page is displayed in Safari:
I have a few DIVs, some overlapping others. One of these DIV is in the background (lowest Z-index) and contains an SWF. (a kind of liquid picture/video in Flash)
My problem is : In all common browsers it's fine, the website is displayed correctly, with DIVs overlapping or being overlapped according to their Z-Index. Though, in Safari, the DIV containing the SWF always show on the foreground and hide all other DIVs, whatever the Z-index attributed to all the DIVs.

flash menu i have create for my web site it works 100% in microsoft explorer but in fire fox or safari i have a problem. The menu is set to transparent as their are drop down menus from main nav bar, in fire fox you can see the text just below the menu bar but cannot touch any links but in explorer you can no problems.This the code:

I have a wordpress site that has a css drop down menu in the header... and on some pages i have some flash headers in the body of the page.When you pull down the menus if the drop down goes over the flash it looks as if the menu it either behind the flash object or the flash object just cuts it out.

I have a menu bar that when a user mouses over it, a second menu slide out beneath it.when I move my mouse off the first menu bar, the second menu bar disappears. Im not sure how to organize my hit areas so that the second bar stays even if I mouse off the first menu bar.

I'd like to create one empty Flash movie that is essentially a placeholder for externally loaded content I can change through XML. This content would just be able to randomly load 1 of 3 photos, with a button linking to a website within each of the photos on page load. If the user refreshes the page, a new photo with it's link would appear, but I understand since it's random,having 3 images the same image is likely to reappear, but I can always add additional photos and links.
Does anyone know of a tutorial that might lead me on the correct path to create this? I've found some tuts, but they've been different than my need.

We want to be able to upload over 100+ files (if needed) to a server along with desc + keywords. I see that Flash 8 has the neccessary tools to handle file uploading, but my question is, can we have it act as a Stand alone FTP program so that we can utilize the fastest user upload, or will we be confined to the settings in the server INI settings.IE MAX_UPLOAD_TIME,MAX_FILESIZE, etc. If possible we want to avoid using the HTTP upload as it is noticeably slower. So if we can use flash to utilize user BW to upload, then that would be ideal.

Im new to placing external data into Flash. I just got CS3 and Im trying to use Flash to dynamically load XML data via a FlashVars call in the HTML.
The problem is I have followed the very straight forward AS2 Help files for using FlashVars and URL variables.I have placed the code directly from the Help file into the Html between

I will be creating a program to use for data entry. I'll be studying zebras in kenya and I won't have the internet there as I'm recording the data. We have implemented a Flash photo slideshow on our site and it works just fine for most of our users. Whenever the xml.load(success) returns false I have the Flash email me a debug report. For the life of me I can not find a common thread between all of these people having problems with the Flash. I don't think it's a cross-domain issue because it works for most people, and I have the crossdomain.xml files where they should be.

I have a website that is all flash. I have a main file that loads in the nav and then the nav loads in the designated .swf file for each section. So there are several sections(.swf's) with lots of text taken from a database and inserted into the swf file from
an XML file. If I click in between sections, and go back to the original section of text the formatting is lost. This is only in Internet Explorer 7- this does not happen in Firefox or on the Mac.

Does anyone know of any really easy and effective ways to move complex data types from PHP into FLASH and vice-versa? A while back I made an attempt to recreate PHP' serialize() function in actionscript but it was really difficult and performance was poor.
I'm able to do it fairly easily for one dimensional arrays indexed by numbers, but when I have to pass either an object (or several objects) or when i have to pass a nested array of arbitrary complexity (such as a data tree) then I get bogged down.
I have a little experience dealing with XML in flash (working with the tree component) but it seems like so much effort when i am dealing with a new data type.
Does anyone know of any pre-packaged components or code (in actionscript and complimentary part in php) that might be useful?

I have the Following requirement and I do not even know where to begin.I have created a map of a Country and on the map are several towns and cities, obviously easy enough so far.So, for example, say the XML data provides information of ten different pieces of information, one might be say Lightning Strikes.
I want to be able to create a dynamic map that adds a Red dot beside the City, that represents a record of the lightning strike.
