I made a flash music player for my server the player works perfectly and loads the xml data when viewed on my computer and even when it has been uploaded to the server IF I view it by itself but once I try and view my HTML file, all of the information for the songs comes up as undefined, so none of the songs will play.

Im new to placing external data into Flash. I just got CS3 and Im trying to use Flash to dynamically load XML data via a FlashVars call in the HTML.
The problem is I have followed the very straight forward AS2 Help files for using FlashVars and URL variables.I have placed the code directly from the Help file into the Html between
<noscript> <noscript>and i keep getting undefined.I have tried saving the file as flash 8 and i am publish flash 8.
We have implemented a Flash photo slideshow on our site and it works just fine for most of our users. Whenever the xml.load(success) returns false I have the Flash email me a debug report. For the life of me I can not find a common thread between all of these people having problems with the Flash. I don't think it's a cross-domain issue because it works for most people, and I have the crossdomain.xml files where they should be.

I have an Access Database (doesn't need to be Access, I can phpAdmin or mysql, whatever will work) that has a list of names. I want the user to open a Flash form and have the names load up into seperate input boxes for each name. The user can then change the names, move them, whatever, and then save the record. I want it to just overwrite the record. I donlt want create a new record. I cannot, for the life of me, figure this out. I have tried to find some tutorials but nothing makes sense. Is ASP a good way to go? I have been struggling with this for a week now.

However, I need to get the XML data into a (JSP) session and can't neccesarily have an external XML file--any suggestions? Can I put the XML string into a hidden input field in a form on the HTML? The embedding is done (I presume) in much the same way that IE embeds flash object (e.g. using a COM object which maps back to Flash10c.ocx)We are testing our application on Windows 7 RC 64-bit edition but the .NET application is unable to instantiate the Flash control, raising a "Class not Registered" error. Although the OS is 64-bit, the .NET app and Flash object are 32-bit and should work together without problems. I have confirmed that the IE browser (32-bit version) on the Windows 7 (x64) does indeed instantiate Flash files OK.

Have a flash, that loads XML from server. Flash uses it to built up a site menu. Both xml and flash reside on the same host. When I try to run server locally - everything works. But when I try it online, XML is loaded only in FireFox, but in IE it can't be loaded. Flash movie itself loaded normally (I can right-click on it and see standard menu). I put my host into Trusted sites in IE and set very low security/privacy. I don't have any firewalls or proxies. I also put my host and flash movie into Trusted source in Flash Settings Manager.

It will not load the image from the database using ASP. I set Images as a variable from ASP. It was displaying "images/img1.jpg" instead of image visually.

View 2 RepliesSo I am trying to load variables from a .php file into a movie clip and then plug in those variables to various fields and for some reason its not working...so heres whats going on...(this is for the staff page for my church)
In the primary timeline we have this line...
loadVariables("./middleware/staff.php?id=" + staffID,
staff_panel, "GET");
We are loading the variables into the movie clip which contains our various fields...the value for staffID is created in the previous frame when the user click on that person's icon, we know for sure that this is being passed correctly to this frame, because I have a text box in the main timeline which displays the number.
The resulting string from the .php file looks like this...
staffNameE=Jason+Webb&staffTitleE=Lead+Pastor&staffDescE=Jason's+bio+g oes+here...&picLoader=./images/staff_pics/jwebb.jpg&staffEmail=webmast er@brooklife.org

I trying to load indivual strings of text from an external file. example: I have a movie that navigates from frame to frame. on each frame I'd like a line of text to load into the movie. When the user navigates to the next frame the text loaded vanishes and is replaced by another line of text. This can be done with separate txt files, right but I was wondering if and how it could be done using one external text file.
