I want to duplicate a flash website (no copyright issue, work assigned by the owner of the website). The only change I am required to do is to change each and every text in language A to language B.
I am a web developer with the knowledge of PHP,HTML,DHTML,XML,CSS,JavaScript but no flash .
Is it poosible to store the site as ans .swf or .fla file and then edit it? Or can it be edited and used or I need to create a new one from scratch?
I had posted a similar query earlier but didn't get a satisfactory reply. I need to edit a flash website (only the text needs to be changed). Which software program should I use ? It is required to convert every text on the site (links or no links) to be converted from language A to language B.
So I have basic flash knowledge but not to much. I'm editing the majority of the template perfectly. When I want to test out how the changes are I export the it into a flash movie, than click on the index.html (which is linked to the flash movie) everything works fine.
Here is where the problem comes in, on one of the pages the template had a bunch of link that I do not want so I delete the links layer. When I do that and export the movie agian, everything gets screwed up it like flips out when I open the file and runs everything double speed than shuts down.
Completely new to Flash CS3, Photoshop CS4, Adobe Dreamweaver, but looking forward to learning about them.My question is this. I'm putting together a horse website and was going to use this templateQuestion 1.All I want to do is change the images to horse photos and change the layout of one of the pages. Considering that I'm a complete novice, is it straight-forward enough to be able to do basic editing of these type of templates and change the images?? Question 2:It states on some of this templates that the requirements for flash are Flash MX2004. Is this the same as Flash CS3. Can I use Flash CS3 for this
A friend recently came to me with desire to update his existing flash website that was built by someone else. Off the top of my head I know that I can't edit anything without the raw .fla files and replacing them. Is there anything else I can do, any other options to go about this? Or is it as simple as not being able to do it without the original .fla files?
I am using flash website template and editing with Flash CS4 and Dreamweaver. There are subwindows that open when clicking on menu buttons that have dynamic text elements. I am trying to change the text in these windows.I changed the names of the menu items that open these windows but the dynamic text is still displaying the old menu names as well as a numbering system(I.E. Services #1, Services#2, etc..) . I've looked through the content.xml, index.html, and of course the main.fla, How do I change the text displayed in these dynamic text elements?

I have 2 websites both built entirely in flash. My problem is that I have created a button on 1 of the sites that has to link to a particular scene and frame within a different flash website.
Is there a way to edit an imported movie into Flash (CS2)? I try to remove frames, but then it seems to remove them from the end of my movie and not where I specified (in the middle).
I tried editing the movie in another program and then importing that into Flash, but Flash loads my entire clip again.
I have two questions (I'm a photographer and flash novice):
1) I just bought this flash template (URL...) and I need to edit it. Rewriting the text is easy, I just rewrite it in XML files, but I cant figure out how to change the font, font color and font size. Could somebody tell me how to do it?
2) I also bought this template (URL...) and I cant figure out how to edit name in the header and text in the top menu. I really cant find it anywhere (I dont see it in Adobe Flash and I dont see any jpeg or PSD file in the flash directory...)
My friend wants to be able to update the sites text himself. Is there a way he can easily edit the basic text online without having to use Adobe Flash (it would be even better if he could add photos as-well). I was thinking I could get flash to read an XML file but I dont know how he could easily edit that as heis not techie at all.
I want to edit my xml file through flash . But i have 1 more problem , i want that if i click the button "Gallery" then the the item having label "Gallery" should be given the attribute "selected = true " . I have already loaded the external xml file into flash ...
I want to use a flash preloader for my php website. I have seen some javascript examples; but I want something attractive and cool. So I want use flash preloader which will show the percentage of the website loaded. My website is kinda heavy(with lot of images). It looks bad when the contents load. So I want to show a flash preloader while the site loads.
just been doing it for a couple days, i downloaded a template and have been trying to figure out how to edit the links. It came with a _URLs.txt, but all the links on the menu go to the same link.for example[URL]
Immediately after finding out I was laid off I began to try and increase my online presence by building a webpage.I found a flash web template that I was able to highly customize however I can't figure out how to add additional hyperlinks, images, etc. This crosses the line between dreamweaver and flash. The flash file is a complied file that flash creates and I can only edit it if I have all the original files (kinda, there are other ways around that). Anyways, I have all the files, I think however I still can't seem to figure it out.
I would like to add additional images, hyperlinks, and maybe even move some stuff around however it seems like everything is either locked down of difficult to modify. I have looked around online for some good tutorials however I can't seem to find any that match what I'm trying to do. Would it be best to try and build the hyperlinks in flash or should I do that in dreamweaver? Dreamweaver I'm guessing, however since I'm editing the site via .xml the insert hyperlink capabilities within dreamweaver are not enabled unless I'm directly editing the index.html. By the way, I'm using CS4 Flash and Dreamweaver. [URL].

Im loading some HTML text into a flash dynamic text box and have some list items but i want the bullet to be flush to the left along with the other text and without such a big gap,see below.is there some code i can insert in my plain text document with out using css?<li>Present you with the best market opportunities within your search criteria.</li>
Got cs4 now and i cant find a preference for editing. My problem is that when i put my cursor at the start of a line I want it to stay there when I move my cursor up and down through code. Now it jumps forward and back with the code.. thats anoying.
Does it happen to anyone else when you edit anything in the preferences window that Flash CS5 crashes? I've reinstalled the program as well.. any tips I can try?
We have a .fla file. We would like an IDE to open .fla file and debug the action script. We tried Flash Develop (open source), but this IDE does not open .fla files. Is there any other free/open source IDE we could use for opening and debugging .fla files?
Is there any way to make a flash sound editing application with Action Script? I'm pretty sure that there is no way around that but i want to make sure . also if not then as a relevant can i use flex to do that . if not then i have to ask what to use to do that . I'm planning to publish that over the web .
We are planning to create a website which involves uploading video. The issue is this video must be edited (cropped, resized and shortened) by the uploaded. Does anyone know of a solution/set of apis, where this can be accomplished? I had a look at the YouTube apis but there are no editing or uploading methods that I could find.
I was just reading a post about the AS3 possible release with Flash 8. Within the replies, I've noticed that many of the members are stating that they edit code outside of flash insted of in flash. I've never heard of this before. Is it better?
ive publish a html file with flash detection enabled from flash.[code]now since the default codes places my flash movie on upper left corner, ive made my own tables with the flash on it, how or where do i place this code to the upper codes?[code]
What's the best way to enable a client to edit text in a Flash-only site? I'm not talking about throughout the site, just selected text blocks. I could easily fill them from XML files and provide a file upload facility, but most clients will want something more friendly. I could copy the text to a TextArea for editing within the site and update the text from that but I think I'd end up writing my own wordprocessing software to make it look friendly. What do others do? I don't want to re-invent the wheel!
This is a custom flash template I downloaded, when you watch/use the template you can see about me, and all the text in it, however when I attempt to edit it to my specs, I see the frame where it is located, but I cannot edit any text, because I can't SEE any text!!So basically, in editing mode, I don't see any text to edit, but when using the template, I see a lot of info... I have no idea what to do, and please keep in mind I am in no means a professional, or even intermediately good with Flash...
