What software to use to get to the following result:
- Geographical maps per country
- Country / District / Provence
- on click do ...
iMapBuilder for example lets you create a flash map but you can't embed it in Flash Builder and use controls on it. Sth like google maps but then Provence, Country, maps with only the frontier lines on it and not all of the details and streets.
I have a project that requires me to create interactive schematic maps for rail networks. Something along the lines of London's tube map (Not the tube map itself. Are there any flash libraries out there that can assist with this sort of thing?
I have created a mobile application based on a theme park, a key feature of the assignment is an interactive map, i have the map working with no worries its a draggable map and you can move around it, the problem arises when i need to place buttons on the map itself. I need the buttons on the map to stay in place when the map is dragged about so they can be click on for certain areas on the map?
I have a Google Map in my Flash project with a polygon overlay. Is it possible to add to that overlay an EventListener so it triggers a function? All I can find in the API reference is something called "MapMouseEvent" but I can't figure out if that is what I need or how it works.
I'm a programmer and I've learn some basic knowledge about Flash Builder. What I can do with it now is to use the components and somethings override the redraw function to design my own components. However, I find that is a inefficient way and I seems to complex to achieve the animation with only codes. Are there some way to develop with Flash Builder and Flash CS? And how to make animation without complex code? Could you recommend some books for me?
I am looking for a tutorial or a walk through to make an interactive Storyboard withinteractive maps, videos, audio files, play/pause button. And should be able to convert in multiple languages
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the new Package Explorer window in Flash Builder emulate Flex Builders 'Flex navigator' window?
Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.
I just upgraded to Flash Builder 4 (beta 2) from Flex Builder 3 which I have been using since it came out. Problem: All the projects that were in my workspace from Flex Builder 3 did not carry over into Flash Builder 4 (e.g. in the "Flex Navigator" view if FB3). Flash Builder 4 now uses the .FXP format to manage projects, but Flex Builder 3 did not. Is there an easy way to get all my projects back into Flash Builder 4?
I have an AIR project that I was working on Flash Builder 4.5 which now I'm trying to import to my updated Flash Builder 4.5.1 and it is prompting me to fix some paths before the import is completed. I'm kinda clueless what I should put in those fields.

Since Google has announced that it is deprecating Google Maps for Flash, I am need of some alternatives.elaborate here in order to get the best pick of the maps, since the google maps for flash will be deprecated in next 3 years. Let's get here the best opinions of the peoples - which maps which is build on the Flash platform shall be used instead ?
I am trying to migrate a project from Flash Builder 4.0 to Flash Builder 4.5. After Flash Builder prompts me to choose my new SDK, I choose 4.5, Then I get the following error:" error "The required skin state 'disabledWithPrompt' is missing".
I am creating a little map app where you are given information, video and images regarding different campuses in a university. I am using the customContent method to insert video player object into the infoWindow but when I do this it gets rid of my text content and becomes the only visible thing to the user. How Can I work around this and have both text and video in the infoWindow? Demo link
I'm getting the following error with Google Maps API: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at com.google.maps.overlays::Polyline() Specifying the second constructor parameter does not help.
When using map3d, the default marker creation is always perpendicular to the viewport. How can I create a marker that lays down flat against the map? I can't use GroundOverlay because it becomes overly tiny when the map is zoomed out. How can I create a matrix3d object that will rotate/scale/skew my Marker's foreground DisplayObject so it remains flat against the map when in perspective mode?
I have an app in Flex using Google Maps API (with Map3D) and I receive GPS data that basically is Latitude,Longitude and Altitude. well... I want to show the marker in my app also changing the altitude of the location I received the data.
I creating a flash app that loads a RSS of a plublic map with a custom route path and draws lines from the coordinates on a Away3D Sphere. It works preety well when I'm testing locally, but when I publish online, the app can't load the RSS. I think Google Maps disable access from other domains.Does anyone knows another way to access this map RSS directly from google? Now to fix this, I'm hosting the RSS.
I have created a site for my relative's garden. They have already registered there location and info with google maps and I have already installed the api in the site. I also, already have the map located on their location with an pin over it, but I was trying to figure out how to make the map pull the information that pops up when you click that pin. Do I need to create that myself or is there a way I can pull that from google? Here is a link to the site: [URL]
With the Google Maps Flash API, I want to add an event listener which fires when the Marker is added to the Map using map.addOverlay(); Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE is not fired, though it seems logical. What are the alternatives?
I have the coordinates of a player and another object. Both are with geographical coordinates (Latitude and longitude). I have also the direction in what the player is facing (compass). How can I calculate the angle to the other object from the player direction? e.g. I want to know if the object is to the right/left of the player and how many degrees.
When setting up a source control repository for a Flex Builder workspace, what do you consider to be worth checking in? Do you exclude the workspace .metadata folder but keep the .project and other project specific files? Keep both? Throw away both? Is there a guideline you use to decide which is worth holding onto or do you do it out of practical experience?
I am writing a Flex application for use on a private intranet with no external Internet access. I want to use Google's 3D Maps Flex API, but it must be connected to the internet to download map tiles on demand.
Is there a way to locally cache the 3D map tiles and data so that I can run this app without an internet connection? And if not, is there a 3D GIS that supports Flex integration and allows for a local map cache?
I'm looking to display some data in the form of charts (line graphs, pie charts etc). I also require them to have a certain amount of interactivity (pan, zoom etc.).
For these requirements, will Adobe Flex be enough for me, or would I need to use flash?
A little research told me that building charts in Flex is easy, but can they be made interactive without using Flash?
I'm using Google Maps with Flex 3. I'm having problems clearing markers. Users can select which data they want marked on the map by selecting an item in a comboBox. I also have a button that clears the markers:
I tried to search, but couldn't find anything on the topic. In many languages in eclipse you can execute code in the middle of debug session. Usually it's done through the console.
Is there a way to do the same thing in the Flash Builder? EDIT: Ok, i'll to explain better. Is there a way to execute some code in the middle of the debug session? Like in python you can type in console in pydev(eclipse) when the program is paused(being debugged) and run any code you want.
From a video on AdobeTV, I tried to play with example empWeb (LiveCycle Data Services). In Flex Builder 3 (FB3) everything works fine. When I tried this on Flash Builder 4.0 Beta (FB4) it doesn't work. When I replaced original xmlns declarations (2009, spark, halo)with declarations from FB3 (2006) it works. Could you explain why?I'm using the default SDKs (Flex 3.2 for FB3 and Flex 4.0 for FB4). I investigated this (please see 3 source code examples). Source #1 works OK in FB3 and FB4, Source #2 gives a FB4 compilation error message: [code]
I have a Flex module created in Flash Builder 4 as a swf file. I am trying to load and run in within a Flash application. I can get the module loaded but I can not get the flash application to access any module functions. Here is how I load the module in Flash and the error I get. If I change the module to an application type swf then it loads and runs but now I have two applications on top of each other. I would like the loaded module swf to be able to have access the Flash stage object.
ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property application not found on MyModule__mx_core_FlexModuleFactory and there is no default value. var loader:Loader = new Loader();
I have this function that fires upon clicks in a particular area of a component I've created:
PHP Code:
private function dispatchDragEvent(e:MouseEvent):void { switch (_targetType)
[code]....
For some reason when I test this in Flash it works fine, all traces come through. But in Flex, SDK3.5, when I run debug if _targetType is "assign" everything is fine, but if it is "correlate" that branch of the code fails at the hitTest conditionals. It will trace "should execute one of these", but then nothing else happens. So it's like for some reason Flash is OK with the conditional code, but Flex is not cool with it, and doesn't report anything as to why...
I posted to the flash forum but really looking for feedback from flash, flex, AIR users as well.I'm looking for the forums thoughts and advice on which of Adobe's current technology set (CS5) is best suited for creating small interactive applications/packages by users who would not have any background in coding and very little interest in learning coding.
The idea is that users would know basic drag & drop development and maybe extend it to include some basic scripting to wire up elements of it. The ability to develope applications for a range of access points (website, mobile, desktop) would also an added benefit. The over arching idea would be to let the users create some apps/programmes/packages quickly on any topic they like but not bog them down with coding.Which CS5 technologies would be best for that
I'm new to flex/flash cs5, but am an experienced coder, and am trying to help a friend get a site built quickly so they can graduate. They would like their image gallery that displays their portfolio to have:thumbnails floating around slowly and bouncing off of one another - mouse hover would freeze and then resume animation after the mouse leaves - when clicked the thumbnail would grow to the full size image and be displayed in the same window as the floating objects Something similar to whats found at: Flash and Picasa gallery with those other features would be perfect, but without the Google RSS aspect of it. Might anyone know where I could be pointed in the right direction for accomplishing this? Or possibly could be given technical names for the effects I'm trying to implement so I can look them up easier? Perhaps even a link to download something with the floating/bouncing element for the thumbnails, then I could figure out the code for the other effects needed.
