I am building a flash site, and I wanted to know if I can load a web page (my blog to be exact) into a Flash page under my logo and menu. Is this even possible?

I am making a Flash website and I need to know how to make my Menu on left and Logo on right stay on left and right as the screen size is changed. A similar example I am trying to accomplish is this well know site. [URL]. Notice how the menu and logo stay on the right and left...I have been searching for days on how to do this. I have everything built on my stage but cannot achieve this and thought someone may be familiar with this technique.

The links in the archive section work perfectly well when just viewing the swf, but when loaded as an external movie in the site swf they dont work at all.

How should vector artwork be drawn in Freehand so that white details sitting over a blue base are still readable when alpha of e.g. 50% is applied in Flash 8 ? In Freehand 9 I created a logo. Logo has an rgb mix blue base rectangle and rgb white drawn shapes on top. I also drew over the text and gave it the rgb blue as a fill with line none. That sits on top of one of the white shapes.

I'm editing a web page to access it only after login, so now it's a php page with an inital <?php session_start(); ?> and in the body of the page I test the value of a session variable.All works fine but in the header there is flash animation that don't load background picture.In the old version of the page this picture was loaded fine but not now.The address of old version of the page is this and new versione is this this.

I just created a basic flash file to play a video on my web page and it's taking several minutes to load before it starts playback. I'm using progressive downlaod and the file is in *.mov format and is 84MB in size. At first that seemed large to me for web play back, but I thought it could handle it since I thought the way progressive download works is that it would start playing the first frame right away and progressively play other frames as they download. However, this seems to be downloading the whole file first (or a major part of it) before starting any playback at all.
Is there some kind of setting I'm missing or is my understanding of the download incorrect and the file size is too large? Some vitals: I'm using Flash Pro CS5 - To create my flash file, I used the standard import video wizard and selected the a file that is "on my computer" and "load external video with playback component" and then, I selected one of the standard skins.- To deploy the vidoe on my webiste I have three files:
1) swf file containing the FLV component
2) the swf file related to skin
3) the actual video (84MB, mov file) - Web page includes/embeds reference to swf file
When page is loaded I can scroll it with mouse, But when I load first external movie clip the mouse scrolling function disappears. Is there anything I can do? I have search in flash mx 2004, and tryed to use // Mouse.onMouseWheel but nothing
View 14 RepliesI'm trying to make a rotating menu for a sushi webpage, and I've almost got the coding for it solid. But I've run into a few bumps in the road. If I click on the arrows fast the rotation gets really screwed up, if I change from left to right, or right to left right away the animation screws up.And also the rotation messes up on the left arrows rotation (clockwise). Anyway, here is the code, I'm also uploading the .fla with just the menu.(This goes on the first frame before the animation)

I've maintained a blog on my site, and it's a real pain to post in it because everytime I do it, I get TXT files from people using PCs (I use macs), and when I copy and paste that text into flash, it adds double the lines they used. So I have to edit them to take out all the extra spaces.
If that wasn't bad enough, The titles and content use different fonts and different sizes, so they're two different static textfields. And to set each posting apart from the other, I added a line between them. But for it to look good, this has to be in the exact middle between the end of one post, and the next post's title. But since each post has a different size, it's also a pain to measure that distance everytime I add a post. So I was thinking, one way for me to solve all this is to make a movieclip which does all the calculations by itself, and draws text from an external textfile. Maybe using HTML text I can have two different fonts and sizes in one textfield, instead of two?
Anyway, what I want is to just get the new post from people, paste the new text inside the TXT file, overwrite the one on the server with it and voil, that way I don't even have to open flash when adding new posts.
Anyone have a good way to do this? And then, for extra coolness, maybe if I get this working, I could make a page where the posters could log in and post...this page would save the post to the txt and that would make posting a lot easier because then they don't need me to post!
I remember doing some work where I put a dynamically changing PHP page into flash, I'm curious can the same be done by cutting out the PHP programming? I'm new to AS3 so I'm not sure what the protocol is now.Previously the hierarchy looked something like this.1. I have seen a widget on Flash Den that does this but only works in AS 3.0 The Flash site that needs the blog was done in AS 2.0. I would think this could be done in AS 2.0
