If I print out web pages having SWFs on them, theydo not show either on the print preview, then on the print outitself. How could this happen? Dec 12, 2009I boot up Flash CS4 and all I see in the upper left corner are the three dots for Apple's Snow Leopard interface. Flash was working fine yesterday, then last evening, all I got were the three dots. The menus are there. They open, but they are acting flakey. I can open up a file, but none of the palettes or interface show up. The stage is located under Apple's menu bar at the 0,0 location of the monitor and unmovable.
I deleted the preference files from my user library and also a file called "Flash 10 mru". That didn't do a thing.
The only change I made yesterday was an upgrade Adobe supplied for Premiere.
I also upgraded to Snow Leopard over the old Leopard, rather than a clean install.
But Flash was working fine on it for a month before yesterday's three dots attack.
Flash CS3 works fine.
Flash CS4 works fine on my laptop with Snow Leopard.
This morning, I uninstalled the old and reinstalled a new copy. Really at a loss as to what to do.
I was thinking of doing a clean install of Snow Leopard on a new hd and starting over. Before I do all that, I was hoping there was an easier fix.

Aug 31, 2006I am trying to make a swf talk to another swf on a web page, i.e. to separate flash pieces would be able to pass information back and forth to each other on a page. I have some thoughts on how this might work, but I am curious if anyone has done this before, and or what you would think the best way off achieving this would be. Haven't found much about this topic on the web...
my initial thought would be to have flash update something like an xml file via a webservice, then have the other piece constantly look for a change in information, but that seems forced.

I'm told this happens only in Firefox. And I believe only Flash player 8. Works fine with FF and Flash player 9, or IE with 8 or 9 I believe.

Flash :: Professional - Video On Webpage Takes Very Long Time To Load Before It Starts Playback
Nov 21, 2011I just created a basic flash file to play a video on my web page and it's taking several minutes to load before it starts playback. I'm using progressive downlaod and the file is in *.mov format and is 84MB in size. At first that seemed large to me for web play back, but I thought it could handle it since I thought the way progressive download works is that it would start playing the first frame right away and progressively play other frames as they download. However, this seems to be downloading the whole file first (or a major part of it) before starting any playback at all.
Is there some kind of setting I'm missing or is my understanding of the download incorrect and the file size is too large? Some vitals: I'm using Flash Pro CS5 - To create my flash file, I used the standard import video wizard and selected the a file that is "on my computer" and "load external video with playback component" and then, I selected one of the standard skins.- To deploy the vidoe on my webiste I have three files:
1) swf file containing the FLV component
2) the swf file related to skin
3) the actual video (84MB, mov file) - Web page includes/embeds reference to swf file
