i have created some flash banners with a url embedded in them, so when they are placed on a web page the banner links through to my website when clicked. Fairly simple.But, i tested them on a website on my server to link to another website on the server and they worked fine. When i gave them to a client to embed on their own website (the flash files are hosted on my server still), the links no longer work.
Is this a security issue to stop the links working? i also checked it in linux and the banners worked, but in windows they do not. I dont want the client to have their own local copy of the flash file, as i may update it in the future and dont want to chase up lots of different copies everywhere.
I'm having a little trouble with my flash banner. When I click on my button, it opens the link I specified in a new window or new tab, like target _blank in HTML. I want it to open in the same window, so you're still navigating through the site. Here's my button's code: link_btn5.addEventListener(MouseEvent.... goToURL5); function goToURL5(e:MouseEvent):void{ navigateToURL(new URLRequest ("/forums/index.php "));}
What I am trying to do, is to make a flash banner that links to more than one URL. I have looked around for a solution for this problem of mine, but haven't found a thing. I've made banners before, linking to only one URL and that hasn't been a problem. I tried to copy/paste the AS stuff from one layer to another, but that just gave me an error message: 1021: Duplicate function definition
Google pointed out this forum when I was looking for a solution to that problem, and I tried mixing numbers in the buttonClickHandler among other things. Sure enough the error went away, but I still can't get the .swf to to work as I want it to. Now it just exports and lets me know that there are buttons there, but they don't take me anywhere.
I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:
ActionScript Code: function messStyling() { messCSS = new TextField.StyleSheet(); var messCSSURL = "include/links.css";
[Code].....
The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.
Flash noob here using cs3/as3. I'm trying to create a simple banner which fades between 2 images, looped. (This I can do!). What I'd like is to have each image link to a different url. I've tried changing the images to buttons with the following actionscript:
on (release) { getURL('http://www.mysite.com', '_self'); }
but get the following error: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances even though they are buttons! I thought this would be really simple, but obviously not! Any ideas are gratefully received.
I have a banner that I'm creating, it has 5 images that rotate via motion tweening. I've created an invisibile button (and also attempted to create multiple buttons) so that when you click on a specific image it will bring you to that URL. So far I have only gotten it to work for the final URL. No matter which image I click on, it only brings up that last URL.
Here is my code:
btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClickHandler1); function buttonClickHandler1(event:MouseEvent):void { navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.google.com")); }
I'm working on a project for a client and I'm doing something I have never done in Flash. The Flash first loads four images that have been converted to buttons. Those four by itself link correctly, but when I add the code for the next two sets of images the code breaks and none of the links work. I'm not sure what to do. Here is the code for the first two sets of images:
The last two links cause a problem. I get Error 1120 access of undefined object. However, when I click the button and look in the properties box it says Instance of BTN_Adult01 and Instance of BTN_ModelFemale so I'm not sure what the problem is.
I tried to paste my source code but it won't let me because it contains links and I don't have enough posts, but I did attach the file.
What I am trying to to do with this ad is have two separate URLs to click on. I would seperate the ads but this is what my client wants and I can't figure it out for the life of me!!
I have a flash banner and i am using AS 2.0. The code embedded in the flash banner works with any url other that the one i am trying to embed.Here is the code i am using:
on (press) { getURL("https://wcc.webeventservices.com/eventRegistration/EventLobbyServlet?[code]....
Somehow flash does not like https links. It works fine with other links.
I am a graphic designer. I do not work with flash too much. I recently make a flash banner for my client but had a problem with linking the flash file to the url. I know actionscript 3.0 little.I used a movieclip (instance name: link_handler) over all content and set alpha to zero. That use this coding:[code]I used _self because i want to open the link to current window. If i use nothing it open in new tab/window. But this causing error when clicked and flash player shows this error.[code]you can see the page here. montana2you.bigcartel(.)com/ The banner is in the footer. (all url replaced by {url} )
I have a weird problem,Flash banner is working "clickable" if the page url have preceding "www" and not working if not,So the if the URL in the address bar was [url]... the banner will be clickable and will redirect you to the link embedded in it, if the URL was [url]... the flash banner will not be working.
We have a Flash banner on the home page and each slide has a link to some other page. Everything works fine, exept in IE.
Basically what happens is that if you click on the banner the first time, the link will work fine and bring you to the new page. However, if you go back to the home page again, then the banner does not even present a link anymore (it will still work fine as far as the banner rotation is concerned - just no more links)..
Ok so we have a website at www. wsca .ie. This website has a flash banner along the bottom of the page but our problem is we have installed flash on our clients pc and updated his internet explorer but still the flash banner doesnt display. Also we have checked to make sure flash is enabled and it is so is there anything else we can do to get this to work?
I have a flash banner that references and XML file with an absolute link, whilst I test the banner locally it works fine but when I test it online it doesn't link to the xml file.
I want to incorporate a scrolling image banner into my website, and found a great tutorial on youtube which works well.I can't post a link unfortunately.It is a pretty basic image scroller that has a series of images scrolling across the screen in an infinite loop. Direction is controlled by mouse position (extreme left or right), and it will stop when the mouse is positioned over an image in the center area.Here's the code:
var myVar:Boolean; this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onEnterFrame); function onEnterFrame(e:Event) :void[code]....
After trying to figure this out through forums such as this for days, it seems that my answer is to use XML (which I do not know, and which I think would require completely starting over).Is there any way to do this in AS3?
Again, I'm a novice user, but understand the basic animation tools of flash to feel comfortable using it as the platform to make this work. I'd like to be able to switch out images/links as necessary, and feel good about my ability to use flash to do that.
I am a newbie to Flash. I am working on a template website with a deadline. I was able to change the text, remove items I did not need and add some additional text.....but I cannot get any of the links in either of the two top flash animations (the menu and the header) to work. I am using Flash CS4 (and Dreamweaver CS4). I have tried to add a link to the text, and in the AS. But then they do not seem to be working at all.
Here is a link for a zip'ed file with the index.html webpage, the swf files, and the fla files. Webpage_and_Flash_Files.zip/ I am on a deadline to get this up,
My website links and 2 out of 6 pdf's don't load when I test the movie in Dreamweaver.As far as I can tell everything is correct and all of the names are correct.Each button has an instance name and has been modified.Are there any other possibilities? Here is a sample of the script
menventures.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, menventuresurl) function menventuresurl (evtObj:Event):void {var menventures:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://menventures.com/");flash.net.navigateToURL(menventures, "_blank");trace("The menventures button was clicked");}
I am building a website through flash. For the past couple of weeks all of the links have been working fine up until now. I have no idea what I could have possibly done to make this happen. In HTML none of the links work. They are all linked up fine, I even re-linked some of them. Nothing happens. The buttons do nothing.
I use Flash 8.I'm making this very simple Nav Box where on certain links open in a new window/tab. Those links work great.But most of the links are set to open in the same window that the Nav Box is on. When saving the SWF and HTML, the links work great. The problem comes when I place it on other pages/sites. The "Self" links never work. Here are samples.
[URL]
Neither page nor link in the Nav Box requires a Iframe nor anything "special" to work.Here are to version of the AS2 code I've tried (Using the Day Of Victory Ministries link as a sample)
#1 on (release) {getURL("http://www.dovm.org/DOVM_AVP.html"); } ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------- #2
[code]....
Unless I'm mistaken, the way flash works, it matters not which server it is on so long as it's directory is public. This enables the flash to be placed on any page (via it's root link / Embedding code) and still have it's buttons work.
I am creating a flipbook application for a magazine. I am using Flash CS4(AS3) to build a navigation interface which contains a UILoader that loads magazine pages in SWF format created by InDesign CS5.Initially I was loading one large SWF file for the magazine pages. Internal links on the table of contents worked great but the load time was ridiculous. Now I am loading individual SWF files for each spread (adjacent pages) and the load time is great, however the links on the table of contents no longer work, which I expected.
The links still appear to be on the page however they don't appear to do anything. I have managed to interrogate the display list objects within the SWF file and the links appear to be of SimpleButton type. Some are even recognized as having HTML significance, they are given an instance name of "Hlnk#" instead of just "Instance#".I think my problem is that I can't/don't know how to get to the event that is triggered by the link/SimpleButton object. If I could see what page it is referencing I could load it.
I am calling one flash with transparent bg in an HTML page.. Now the HTML links which are below the flash area are not working. So how can I make them work. I knw though I am calling flash with transparent bg but still the objects area is same.. n all the links which are there on the HTML page that comes under that area stops working as they no longer remain selectable. To have a clear picture of what I am tryin to do have a look at the following url : [URL]
this is just a sample file you can consider..Have a look at the register now button..It will be in HTML how can I make it work..as flash comes above it.
I have a presentation that I created for a client. The presentation is supposed to work locally on anyone's computer. It works perfect on mine. On the client's three computers, 2 pc and 1 mac the links inside flash do not work. I have a text field with text and a simple link inside like [URL] and it's going to a blank window. These won't even pop up a window for my client on any computer, why? He has the lastest Flash players and we created an html link below the flash movie in the html page just to make sure he could launch a popup that way and the html link below the flash movie worked fine.
I created a mailto link and a hyperlink in my Flash CS4 file. They both work when I test the SWF file. When I test the html file (in any browser) niether work.I get an error saying something about security for the mailto linksHere's the code for both
//MAILTO AND LINKS var contact1_link:String = "mailto:xxx@xxx";var contact2_link:String = "mailto:xxx@xxx" //ADD EVENT LISTENER FOR EMAIL AND
I've done a banner ad for my client. The marketing company is kicking it back saying the clickTAG variable is not working. Below is the required code and specs. The attached Zip file has the ad. I'm a newbie to AS2, which is required for the ad.
Click Tags:All Flash banner ads are required to support the clickTAG variable. The clickTAG is the tracking code assigned by the publisher to an individual ad. It allows the publisher to register where the ad was displayed when it was clicked and helps ReachLocal evaluate the effectiveness of the banner creative.
On any click, Flash ads should redirect to the URL specified in the clickTAG argument; there should be no other redirection in between.The variable name must be reflected exactly as follows: clickTAG (upper-case TAG; no space between click and TAG; not click tag, Click Tag, or any other form).The Flash banner ad should contain the following code for the clickTAG parameter:
on (release) { if (clickTAG.substr(0,5) == "http:") { getURL(clickTAG, "_blank"); } }
The above code should be copied and pasted into the banner ads code exactly
* as it appears above.The code should not specify the destination URL for the ad; this is a responsibility of ReachLocal.
*Additional Web Developer Information: Depending on the structure of your Flash ad, it may be necessary to prepend "_root." or "_level0." to the clickTAG above, resulting in "_root.clickTAG" or "_level0.clickTAG".
I am using flash CS4, i have created a small flash presentation , it has some hyper links to external web site . All the links are perfectly working in my system but the links are not working when i tried into other system(system does not have flash installed ).
