May 9, 2011I'm having some problems inserting my ammap into my webpage. I've read through the documentation and it isn't helping. The map works with if I use the .html file in my original folder but all the paths are relative and I'm trying to make this work in an ASP.NET MVC project using visual studio. It's rather tough to explain the problem since I don't know what's wrong (no javascript or flash debugger).Here is the code that embeds the ammap:

Jan 13, 2010Most of my applications are a combination of VB.NET and Adobe Flash, such that the VB application is displaying a Flash file inside the main form (using Adobe's COM object). The VB application is communicating with the Flash file via the ActionScript ExternalInterface and FSCommands (using XML strings). I'm having a hard time debugging the applications, since when an error occurs withing the Flash file (due to a bug in the ActionScript code) I'm getting a non-informative exception.
What I'd like to do is to debug both codes at once. At the very least I'd like to see the runtime error output as it is shown when I'm working with Adobe Flash. At the best scenario, I'd like to be able to hook my VB.NET code with the Actionscript code such that I can use breakpoints in both.

Dec 16, 2003I know im a pain asking you all questions about c++ but we all know your all good enough to do anything so thought id give it a shot. I'm creating a naughts and crosses game (tic tac toe for you americans!!) for uni and am getting a little stuck! The game runs and a winner can be decided but when the game ends i want it to ask whether another game wants to be played.
Then i want it to carry on as a new game and loop until the players dont want to play again. i've included the source file in notepad form also could anyone tell me how to carry out a check on the array so that once a value has been entered into that co-ordinate (O or X) another value cannot overwrite it???

In the second chapter it teaches you how to integrate the login for to another app.Basically I'm looking for a book that teaches you real working application rather than abstract ideas. Programming language I have in mind is Adobe Air/Flex, Visual Basic. Functions I have in mind should at least cover Drag and Drops, Integration to a web form (form entry) and customizable interfaces.The languages i had in mind isn't fix. If you know a programming platform that has little code or easy to learn but still be able to develop a cool application.

The studio object's "txtVar" value is "studio_txt" The text box always references _root.txtVar, so whichever menu item is clicked, when the text box is told to update, it will load the new value of _root.txtVar. The problem is when i click the "studio" button, the text box fills with "studio_txt" instead of "our studio." So I need to know how to get the text box to read _root.txtVar as a variable rather than a string, I think.

Flash :: Flex - TFS Build 2010 Call An Ant Script And / Or Build?
Mar 31, 2011In TFS 2010 build, I have a new build and I want to call an ant script that builds Flash. How do I call the ant script? Also How can I compile the Flash directly? I've seen the Power Tools and this question but it doesn't help me as we don't have TFS 2008. I can't find any documentation on how to use the power tools except the 1 sentence on the bottom of download page saying to create your build the old way and import it (which isn't very helpful). I've installed the power tools on the agent computer but I don't see any new options in the Toolbox when I'm designing the build flow.

So for example if it were a video or animated object it would be firing as often as EnterFrame. However, if it were some sort of input control just sitting there doing nothing visually, then the event wouldn't fire until the visual state changed as a result of some sort of user input for example.

The button is rotated on the Y axis and the rotate pivot is in the middle of the button.
This will create a button that looks something like this[code]...
I put together a sample to show off the various approaches for calculating this that people are suggesting. The source code is also available. Nothing is quite working like I'd expect. For example, turn the rotationSlider to 85. The button is effectively invisible, yet all approaches are still giving it height and width.
Flash :: Flex - Event On Visual Element Destruction In Builder?
Jun 1, 2011I need to run some code when a panel is destroyed. The code is simple, I have some Background tasks while it is opened, but need to stop them when closed.
I have a Close button for the panel, and I stop the BG Tasks when the user wants to close the panel, the problem is that they have access to a top menu bar too and can jump to another application module/part throught it, so, the user can exit the panel (when exiting, the panel is automatically destroyed) but the panel close event code is not executed because the close button was not pressed.
One solution could be to inherit from panel and add a post step method that is called when swapping modules, etc... So, if the user wants to move to another place through the menu bar, my system will first call sometihng like PreEnd() method on the panel and everything will be solved. But, is there any event that I could catch from the panel when it is destroyed to accomplish this? I have been checking the documentation but couldn't find anything useful to achieve what I explain.

I have a custom component that I can call with actionscript, or with mxml like this:

When I go to design mode, I can see the component under custom components, I can drag it to the stage and see it, but can't set its values field1 and field visually on the right like a normal <s:Label> or <mx:Label> would have. how I can add that? Do I need to make it inherit something or anything else

May 24, 2010When I wanted to insert a SWF into a PowerPoint 2007 presentation, I would use the More Controls dialog in PowerPoint's Developer tab to insert a Shockwave/Flash object. But in PowerPoint 2010, that control is missing from the dialog. Where did it go? When I click the Register Custom DLL, there's no obvious file to choose, either.
Has anyone else run into this? I'm not looking for a way to convert a SWF into a video that can be embedded or using a 3rd-party plug-in or anything like that. I know how to do those things. I'm specifically looking to insert a SWF using only what's built into PowerPoint and Flash

Silverlight :: Access 2010 Database - Front Ends That Do Not Require Web Server?
Jan 14, 2011I need to be able to display charts that can capture what the user has clicked on. So for a pie chart, if a user clicks on a pie piece, I should be able to capture which piece he selected. Scatter plot should capture what plot, etc. Access-UI can't capture these things, only that a user clicked on the graph. So I need a different solution.
We do not have access to a web server. The front end needs to connect directly with the access database. So what front end solutions can I use that will give me the UI flexibility
Is there anything that allows me to use HTML/JS or flash? HTML/JS would be the best solution, followed by flash just due to its wide support. I was researching Web Browser Control but I am not completely clear on whether it is opening local HTML files or browsing through http. I also wasn't clear if it supports JS or can load Flash.

Sep 17, 2011I'm trying to test a custom Flex 4 skinnable component, using the FlexUnit UIImpersonator class. If I run my tests from a FlashBuilder Spark only project everything works fine. If I try to test from a project with the mx component set on the classpath I get a "getElementIndex not available in non Flex 4 projects" error.Can I unit test spark components in FlexUnits visual test environment while still having the mx component set on the classpath?
UIImpersonator delegates it's method calls to a "testEnvironment".The implementation used for this "testEnvironment" is decided by the VisualTest EnvironmentBuilder class and the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class. If the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class can find the "mx.core.Container" on the classpath it returns a MX environment, else a Spark environment. Only the spark environment has valid implementations for Flex 4 relevant method calls on the UIImpersonator - like the addElement method.
