I would like to assign different width and height size to my swf according to the videos sizes.
How can I do it ? Should i pass back values from Flash app with an External Call ?
Can I retrieve the height and width of the video before to pass it to flash app, so I can set the html wrapper parameters in advance ?

Flash :: Change TabBar Background Positioning
Jul 12, 2011I have a TabNavigator with custom skins on the buttons and inside the content. I want to put an image behind the individual Tabs. One long bar of about 20px high that runs the width of the control. The buttons and the navigator content are both spark components while the actual tab navigator control group is of type mx. The only property I can change is the background color. Is there a way I can just tell the background to position itself as top="-10" or something similar or do I need to go the CSS route?

Apparently I can get the desired behavior if I change HBox to Canvas but I would still like to know how to accomplish this with a HBox and why it differs from Canvas.

Feb 18, 2010Using FB4, I want to change the height of an open spark DropDownList. By default, it shows up to 6 items before scrolling. My dropdownlist contains 7 items, so I want to change the height of the open dropdown list to fit all 7 items without scrolling. As a workaround, I've changed the font size of the items so that they are smaller and all 7 fit, but the smaller font doesn't look good. Is there a way to change this height?

I'd want to create a 400x300px loader, but I also want it to load animations that have bigger or smaller dimensions. I want that the s:VGroup container has the height only of its visible children. In this example there is a free space even the visibility mx:HorizontalList is set to false. Every time I change the visibility of the child element I want that the parent (s:VGroup) will change his height. How to do this in flex?

I don't understand why the following does not work:
Pushing the Button resizes the photoCanvas's height (gets taller or smaller). Since the photoCanvas control is a child element of the VGroup shouldn't the container update itself to the new height? The Vgroup has ALWAYS the same height, no matter what the (total) height of the children is! I would like the VGroup to adjust itself and get a height value equal to the sum of its children heights. Is this not possible??

I am having trouble changing the tabs visibility. They are currently always shown.
I have seen a getTabAt on the mx TabBar but the look of the tab is important and the requirement is for it to look like a tab bar rather than a button bar.

The viewstack's containers are bound to bindable vars, so if a var changes, the data/labels/etc in the container updates, but the tab doesn't.Is there a way to bind the tab to the same bindable var or do i need to write event handlers (if so, what events)?

Jul 28, 2010I create an HBox, fill it with a grid of buttons, and set the scroll policy. When I resize the window, the stage changes size, and so does the HBox ... to a point. Once it reaches the height of the Grid it contains, it stops shrinking, like it has a "min-height". This ruins the scrollbar that I'm trying to establish in this case.
I've set the height to 100%, shouldn't it always take the height of the stage, it's parent?[code]....

Aug 25, 2009I have a flex tree control bound to an xml data from the database. I have item renderers for the tree items. My concern is, when my tree item size is huge, if I scroll using the mouse, it scrolls in 4-5 items at a time. I need it to scroll item by item. When it scrolls 4-5 items at a time, there seems to be a rendering issue as I have overriden lot of properties of treeitemrenderer and also the custom control i have put into the item renderer
Is there any way I can change the scroll size?
