I want to change the background color of selected tab in spark TabBar control(Flex4). Till Flex3 we could have use the following code, bt it is not working in FLEX 4.

I am having trouble changing the tabs visibility. They are currently always shown.
I have seen a getTabAt on the mx TabBar but the look of the tab is important and the requirement is for it to look like a tab bar rather than a button bar.

is there a common way to disable a tab of a spark tabbar component in flex 4? with the mx tabnavigator component you can just disable the content corresponding to the tab and the tab is also disabled then. but doing this with the spark tab bar component disables just the content not the tab.[code]
View 3 RepliesI have an application where I'm trying to update the String for a Label's text property, based on the tab which user has the mouse over. I've constructed a simple example displaying how I would process the eventHandler function if I was going to use the selectedIndex property, however it's the tab that has mouse focus, which may or may not be the selectedItem, that I'd like to reference and I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it.
So here is the example:

In the MX TabBar component, the iconField property allowed us to display different icons in each tab. In Spark, there does not seem to be an inherent way to add icons to the TabBar.Does anyone have an example of implementing icon support for Spark's TabBar?

I have created a style in which i am defining a font family.When i apply this style to label it reflects the font were as there is no change when it is applied to a spark button.I Tried various way to Apply font style but it doesn't work.Other properties work fine except font family. I have a spark list, which is based on a dataProvider. As the application runs, the data in the dataprovider can change, and also the dataProvider can be swapped for a different one
What I need to do is make sure that something is always selected in the list (unless it is empty)

So i decided to implement some themes in my AIR app. I have converted my CSS files into SWF files, removed the Style linkage from my main file. Based on the user preferences stored in a file, I decide which theme to use. i.e; load the SWF file using StyleManager class.
I made my application window invisible, added a StyleEvent.COMPLETE event listener for the IEventDispatcher object returned by StyleManager.loadStyleDeclarations method. After the StyleEvent.COMPLETE occurs, I made my main window visible.
The problem i have now is, for a few seconds, i can see white canvases and all my components without any styles before using the style selected. I want to know if my approach is correct or do I need to make any changes to implement this properly?
I am trying to change the header color and the row color of the datagrid. Apparently, its not a spark component so can't apply skin on it.
View 3 RepliesI have a TabNavigator with custom skins on the buttons and inside the content. I want to put an image behind the individual Tabs. One long bar of about 20px high that runs the width of the control. The buttons and the navigator content are both spark components while the actual tab navigator control group is of type mx. The only property I can change is the background color. Is there a way I can just tell the background to position itself as top="-10" or something similar or do I need to go the CSS route?

in FlashBuilder I want to dynamically generate approximately 1200 rectangles from a CSV file (these are all different colours) which will perform an action on Click.
What is the best way to go about doing this? I've read that the drawing API on Air and Android is not a good idea, and am thinking about using the Spark Rectangle class, but I can't seem to work out how to apply a colour to it if I'm generating them dynamically using AS?
When I create a tab dynamically via ActionScript, the style for the newly created (and selected) tab get applied to the skins, but not the text, unless I click on another tab and then click back to it.
