In the MX TabBar component, the iconField property allowed us to display different icons in each tab. In Spark, there does not seem to be an inherent way to add icons to the TabBar.Does anyone have an example of implementing icon support for Spark's TabBar?

I am having trouble changing the tabs visibility. They are currently always shown.
I have seen a getTabAt on the mx TabBar but the look of the tab is important and the requirement is for it to look like a tab bar rather than a button bar.
My code for the tabs and for hiding and showing is below:

is there a common way to disable a tab of a spark tabbar component in flex 4? with the mx tabnavigator component you can just disable the content corresponding to the tab and the tab is also disabled then. but doing this with the spark tab bar component disables just the content not the tab.[code]

I have a s:List where I've defined my own itemRenderer, and would like to insert a horizontal line separating items, similar to the way the mx:LinkBar works. I don't want to have a line at the top or bottom of the list, so I can't just include an upper or lower border in the itemRenderer. I was hoping the itemRenderer could be made aware of its index in the list, but I don't see how.

The problem with this is that while the show event plays perfectly, the item disappears from view before the hide effect has a chance to play. Is there a simple way to handle adding animations to this workflow?
I'm using the new Spark Datagrid for a project, but I must confess the scroller is annoying me a little bit, so I would like to have some control over it.

I'm trying to implement this by working with a skin based on the skin spark.skins.spark.TabBarButtonSkin, but despite turning off the shadows on the selected and overAndSelected states, it still shows a dark color on mouseover.

how can I load in flex spark Image control and wait for complete loading? MX:image have method load() and listen COMPLETE event this is not in spark Image...is there only source?? or how can i listen when image is complete loading??
View 1 RepliesI have several horizontal scrolling lists with differing item widths stacked inside a Vertical Group. On an item click all any selected item from the other lists will be cleared. When any of the lists are scrolled all the other lists should scroll exactly the same amount in the same direction, simalar to [URL]
The synced scrolling is throwing an undefined error and has crashed the adl(it is a mobile app) on one occasion. This happens only when I add more than 2 synced scrolling lists via event listeners.
So my question is: Can anyone see why this errors or is there a better way to achieve this type of horizontal scrolling multi-list, possibly a really wide data-grid or group of buttons inside a scroller?

In a spark list I could use the change event to find out which item has been selected or deselected. The dispatched IndexChangeEvent object has the properties newIndex and oldIndex holding this information.
But with multiple selection allowed this doesn't work anymore because newIndex and oldIndex could refer to indices of still selected elements.
A solution would be to copy the selectedIndices vector to another variable and compare this variable with selectedIndices after a change in selection, but this seems to be somewhat complex.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way two get the index/item a user is deselecting while other elements are still selected?
what I need to do is combine 5 arrays with 5 individual strings (which have come from a JSON webservice) into one single list item in FlashBuilder Burrito. [code]I've pulled these out successfully and each one traces in the debugger, although as I need them all in the same list I'm struggling to establish them as a dataprovider together.If I push the strings and arrays together it is impossible to read properly, as the main Titles are at a different level to any descriptors for the products which are in the arrays.

As an example, let's say that I want to render a set of ellipses on a line.I've been using MXML for my most recent batch of ItemRenderers and have loved every minute of it, but I'm not sure how to accomplish the above goal with an MXML IR. In Actionscript I can acquire the list of ellipses locations and draw them programmatically in the updateDisplayList method. Is there an equivalent in MXML?
View 1 RepliesI'm making a demo project for myself to learn. The project is somewhat similar to "The Story of Stuff" website.But I making this demo and going step by step. I have a small working project but the video clips are embedded and now I'm launching them externally using the flv playback component.I have only made the very first video clip external that is loaded in using the component. The rest of the clips are embedded.
As you can see I made this so when the picture icons appear and when you click on one the video pauses and when you click the close button on the small window that pops up the video resumes.(un-pause)
Basic time line controls. (Linear)
But of course this does not work when I load the clip externally using the flv playback component.My question is , how can I control (Play/Pause) the flv playback instance(s) with my existing icons?

this.link refers to location of swf file that is related to the icon pressed in xml.Everything works fine and dandy however here is the trouble, they all have different parameters and when loaded into another container thus in a swf they lose some of these. However in my test file when it is simple and straight just 2 lines of code (see above) everything works.

View 2 RepliesI'm using a custom tabbar with the dataProvider being a viewstack and I'm trying to get the tab labels to update when data in the related container (in the viewstack) updates. The viewstack's containers are bound to bindable vars, so if a var changes, the data/labels/etc in the container updates, but the tab doesn't.Is there a way to bind the tab to the same bindable var or do i need to write event handlers (if so, what events)?
