ActionScript 2.0 :: Control(Play/Pause) The Flv Playback Instance(s) With My Existing Icons?
Feb 3, 2011
I'm making a demo project for myself to learn. The project is somewhat similar to "The Story of Stuff" website.But I making this demo and going step by step. I have a small working project but the video clips are embedded and now I'm launching them externally using the flv playback component.I have only made the very first video clip external that is loaded in using the component. The rest of the clips are embedded.
As you can see I made this so when the picture icons appear and when you click on one the video pauses and when you click the close button on the small window that pops up the video resumes.(un-pause)
Basic time line controls. (Linear)
But of course this does not work when I load the clip externally using the flv playback component.My question is , how can I control (Play/Pause) the flv playback instance(s) with my existing icons?
Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).
I am trying to load a movieclip and have it be controlled by a play and a pause button. The load works good and the code for the play/pause works.
I need the "test2" file to load the "ball_mc" file and then I should be able to play and pause the ball as it runs across the screen. I think I need it to be a swf file also, but Flashkit won't let me upload that type of file.
Initially I want to control a movie clip (play, pause) using two buttons. I placed a movie clip(square) and two buttons (btnPlay, btnPause) on the stage.and created Engine.as assigned to stage.
I am trying to make a play, pause and stop btns controlling a mp3 file which is in the library which has a linkage id of Speakers. I've manage to get the pause and play to work but now incorporating a stop button isn't working for me
To say basically if you have pressed the pause btn, then the play btn, play from state pause at, but if you have pressed the stop btn then pressed the play btn, play from start and also if the play btn has been pressed and the audio is playing if pressed again dont play again do nothing.
I have multiple movie clip with bg sound.I have used the code AS3 for toggling the animation ( Play & Pause ).Automatically the animation starts and button also togggled on click but couldnt control the animation .I need some solutions like when the intial stage the animation wont start etither the button click to play.After that the flow as it is in action ( ON Click ).

I am using CS3 with Actionscript 2.0I am trying to get a play / pause button to control a movie clip.I have placed the MC on one layer and the button on another layer.The button works great.All I need is the AS to control the timeline of the movie clip.
I have an .flv file I created and imported it into the Flash timeline and needed to use an Actionscript with it because I need it to loop when it's finished. I exported it to an .swf file but I can't find any way to use the "ClearOverPlayMute.swf" skin with it on my web page.
Flash doesn't export the swf file with any playback skins.
In the MX TabBar component, the iconField property allowed us to display different icons in each tab. In Spark, there does not seem to be an inherent way to add icons to the TabBar.Does anyone have an example of implementing icon support for Spark's TabBar?
I have a base class which is being created via remote_object [RemoteClass alias] from the server.I have other specialized classes that are derived from this baseclass, but serialization with the server always happens with the base class.The base class has meta data that defines what the derived class is, for example
[RemoteClass (alias="com.myco...')] public Class Base {
I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. I need to add a play/pause btn that will pause both pictures and sound. I assume I do that in each mc, but do not know where to find the code.Here is what is in each mc now:
var mySound:Sound = new Sound(); mySound.load(new URLRequest("english/Intro01.mp3")); mySound.play()
Is there a way to create a temporary button that allows you to pause a SWF in the middle of playback? Hopefully when you pressed a 'resume' button, the SWF would beginto play at the exact point where it paused.
I know you are all probably very busy already but I was hoping you might be able to help me with an issue I am having in Flash CS3. It is my first project, and in retrospect I realize I have gotten in over my head but it is too late to turn back.The project is a recruitment video of sorts that will be distributed on cd-rom. When it runs, an intro video plays on the main screen, and there are buttons that will take the user to other pages with more videos and information. The problem I am having is that the intro video can still be heard in the background even when the user clicks to go to another page. I've tried multiple solutions from the boards but I am either doing something wrong or the solutions just aren't appropriate for my situation. Basically my question is this, how do I get a custom-created button (named "More" in my case) to pause the FLV Playback, or even just mute it's sound?
I've created a graphic and have multiple instances of the graphic on the stage. I've recently decided to change the graphic to a movieClip. However, changing the original clip's type to movieClip doesn't apply the change to all instances that I've already placed on the stage; they're still all graphics.
The only way I've been able to fix it is by manually selecting each one and changing their instance behavior from 'graphic' to 'movieclip'. Is there a faster way to do this, be it a command or an actionscript code? Anything that doesn't require me manually changing each instance would be a huge time saver.
I have a very straight forward piece I'm working on that involves copy fading in and out but, instead of using the time-line for timings I'd like to use some script. It's just copy fades in (hold for three seconds) then fades out (hold for one second) copy fades in (hold for three seconds) etc.
I'm completely confused by this. An Adobe Flex WindowedApplication has a 'menu' property, which by default is assigned a FlexNativeMenu instance, which is used to create a native menu tree for the application.For example, on OS X, if I create a WindowedApplication, I get the standard 'application menu', 'File', 'Edit' and 'Window' menus created on startup. The question is, how do I append additional menus to this without creating an entirely new menu? I want to use the default OS X menus as a starting point and add my own. If I assign menu = new FlexNativeMenu; I just get a completely empty application bar with no menus at all.
Here's what I am trying to do: I have an array of movie clip instances called iconArray[]. what I want to do is create the effect of shifting icons on screen right or left. Lets say we're shifting the icons left--what I want to happen is the icon on the left (iconArray[0]:MovieClip) to tween to the left about 20-30 pixels and then fade out, which I can currently achieve. The problem is I want copy the instance of that icon as a temp MC and push it onto iconArray and then have it fade in tween from the right.
In other words, the left most icon should "wrap" back around to the position of the right most icon but in order to create the illusion without having the left most icon pass over the other icons (which looks tacky) I want to create a copy of the left most icon and push it onto the array as a new movieclip with the same image and have that fade in from the right while the other one dies off.
[Code]...
it does not create a new icon, is seems to point to the same movie clip as iconArray[0] and any adjustments I make to the x or alpha affect the original MovieClip instance and not the new on I created and pushed onto the array.
How does one go about copying a movieclip, storing it in it's own instance/var so it can be displayed and manipulated as a separate entity?
I have several products I want to animate with graphics and text individualy then stack them on a time line for output with play and pause buttons. Is there a tutorial somwhere that shows you how to do this? and how do I stop the entire animation on a frame, I don't understand "not_set_yet"
I want to make a new instance of an existing symbol (movie clip or graphic) when an object hits the side of the stage. I have the code to figure out if it hit the side of the stage, i just need to know how to make a new instance and make it show up where the ball hit. I also want to be able to have multiple of these instances on screen.
I am new to adobe forums and flash platform. I am using flash cs3 / 8 for almost a year now (timeline with some basic actionscript - AS2). What I need for my projects is a playback skin for the produced swf's. I tried captivate, but when I import the skin actions don't work any more (i tried several tactics - synchronize ... ect). Is there any other way to add a player skin with start /stop buttons and active scrubber bar (slider bar). I can easily create custom start/ stop buttons that does the job but I can figure how to make a scrubber bar that will respond to my flash project user interaction (e-learning purposes).
I imported an FLV video and selected a Skin via the Video import wizard. The Under... skin did not display. The Over... skin shows just a sliver of it at the bottom of the published video. There is also a black border about .38" high at the top and bottom of the video. The sliver of the playback control is over the lower border. I've tried resizing the video in the Publish Video dialog, using No Borders and nothing helps. Using Flash CS4 on Win XP. I used the AMEncoder to convert the MPG to FLV.
I'm using a php script to load avi file to my Flash as movieclip.How can I control the avi playback? Say if I have a stop button, how can I stop the avi from playing and while I have a play button and it will resume playing the video from where it stopped?
I have a web page with an SWF file on it which in turn loads and plays an FLV file. The SWF is embedded in a layer (referred to here as the "video layer") which is hidden at load time. Elsewhere on the page is a "view video" button which makes the video layer appear. However, I can't seem to find any way to make that video start playing when the video layer appears. My thought was to use Javascript and an onClick to start the playback but I haven't had any luck. I also have a "CLOSE WINDOW" button on the video layer that will have to stop the video playback and close the layer. I have been able to successfully make the video layer appear and disappear, but I have not been able to make the video play or stop. I will also need to make the video rewind at some point as well. Please note that the video itself plays fine if I set the FLV to Autoplay before publishing the SWF but then it starts immediately upon completion of page loading.
I'm using a php script to load avi file to my Flash as movieclip.
How can I control the avi playback? Say if I have a stop button, how can I stop the avi from playing and while I have a play button and it will resume playing the video from where it stopped?
I placed a movie clip instance inside a button, and I want this movie clip to play when the button is released. I'm using this code on the frame containing the button:
function playMovie(event:MouseEvent) { this.theButton.theMC.gotoAndPlay(3);
How to control FLV Playback in flash with Action Script? I want to play Video in my webpage similar to YouTube. I have done it with automatic play but I want it when you press play button, then play and pause, volume, next & back as well.
