Flex :: Programmatically Show ToolTip When TextInput Invalid?
Oct 1, 2009
I have a form with a TextInput that has a custom Validator. I call the Validator logic and handle the result programmatically. This all works fine, except for one problem. The TextInput gets highlighted when it is invalid, but the toolTip that contains the errorMsg does not display until I roll the mouse cursor over the TextInput. Is there anyway to get the toolTip to show programmatically?
I have a chart with 2 line series in it.So, "Jan" (x-axis point) will have 2 Y-axis pointsThe problem :Is there anyway to force flex to show tooltip on both series simultaneously?
I'd like to be able to add a character to a TextInput programmatically (say when you press a button) even when using IMEs (I'm using a Japanese IME right now). Normally this would be super easy, i.e.
protected function button_clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { ti.text = "k"; }
I'm displaying a list of buttons, some of which might be disabled. I need to show a tooltip on the disabled buttons with an explanation of why it's disabled, but it seems I can't disable the button without disabling the tooltip. Is there a simple way around this?
I'm creating an errorTip that gets displayed when the user mouses over an image. I would like the popup to appear to the left of the image, but the only properties I can pass to create the toolTip are "errorTipRight", "errorTipAbove" and "errorTipBelow".
I am using a s:TextInput in Flex 4.5. It shows it's prompt text if the underlying text value is null or empty String. Does anybody know if I can make either don't show the prompt on empty String or even show a different prompt?
I'm trying to prevent keyboard show when I click Textinput field on my device. I use Textinput only to show some text and for click event (to push a view).
I am trying to write a small piece of Actionscript that gives focus to a TextInput. The reason being, I don't want my user to have to click into the text field to see the cursor and start typing, it should just already be there.
I need the tooltip above each item to always show the tootip. I tried changing the alfa from 0 to 100 which doesnt work, and also I saw where the depth is set way up so not sure if that will affect them as it turns or not.
I have the content of a scrollpane that, when clicked, show a tooltip movieclip with attachMovieClip; the problem is that the attached movie clip, for the first rows, goes under the border of the ScrollPane and is partially invisible.
Is there a way to solve this problem (without changing the position of the attached movie clip?)
In my flex 4 project I am using some Spark TextInput components. It doesn't show copy and paste in the right click menu by default. The user needs to copy some text and paste into it. How can we enable this?
I started converting this flex application to run on android using the new flex hero sdk.i already replaced all mobile-incompatible components and got it running a few times succesfully.
When I use the same libraries running the original webapplication it works perfectly.The big problem however are these random Invalid BitMapdata errors while starting the mobile application. Here's the whole output.
[Code]...
Now it seems to me that, wile running the mobile application, it is unable to find the image, as when I run the webapplication, using the same library where the above line of code is, it is able to find the image.
This problem has been haunting me for days now and I'm really starting to think this is a bug, especially because it sometimes DOES run. Or is there something I'm missing here.
I have a spark skinnable component which contains a datagroup with images. The datagroup is scrolled by hovering the mouse over it. Everything works fine except one thing: after I change the datagroup provider, I need to scroll down automatically. The problem is the images are not loaded immediately after I set the provider so (contentHeight - height) does not yet represent the actual maximum scrolling position. Is there an easy way of telling the datagroup to scroll down as its content loads? Because the workaround seems to be not so straightforward. This is the code for scrolling(thumbnailStrip is my datagroup):
My flex app has various Custom components. I want the tooltips for all of them to show at the top-right corner.Is there a Application setting that I can do this with? Or do I have to do this at the component level.
I have a buttonbar that has 3 buttons. I'm trying to set a tooltip for each of the buttons, but not sure where. The ButtonBar itself has a skin, which in turn includes a skin for each of the buttons.
I have a nice looking fxg button, to which I want to attach a tooltip- how do I achieve that without much hassle? (the spark button does this out-of-box, but is not very visually pleasing)The examples I have seen on search is reverse- using fxg effects in the tooltip.
I got struck with tooltip position as well as style. I used string validator to perform validation. Error tooltip is coming right hand side by default. I want to change it on top of the text field as well as its clolor also. but I just want it to perform with every tooltip not with any specific one.
I'm having trouble changing the font size of my TextInput tooltip. The text input looks like this:
<s:TextInput id="first" toolTip="Hello"/>
then I create a style like this:
<fx:Style> @namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"; @namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo";
[Code]....
P.S. I also get a yellow warning: "CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'mx.controls.ToolTip'" but it still compiles since it's just a warning, but nothing happens.
I have an AIR app that I have developed for a client.It has a system tray icon with the company name, app name etc, displayed in a tooltip.This all works very simply except that the client in question has a & in their name.No matter how I encode this, it never seems to get displayed.
I have an ArrayCollection that's acting as the data provider for a tilelist (called favoriteLinksList) I use an itemRenderer called FavoriteItem as the tilelist's itemRenderer. This FavoriteItem looks like this:
I have a button in a flex project and I want to add the picture inside the tooltip of the button, I try to extends ToolTipBorder and then use the borderSkin, however, it did not work.
[code]I want a specific toolTip for "icon". I have read about using HTML and rollOver and rollOut but I'm building this as part of a larger text block; it's difficult to switch from incremental objects to HTML in the middle.If I cannot set an event on the icon, can I create an HTML bit in ActionScript as part (but not all) of a paragraph ?
