My flex app has various Custom components. I want the tooltips for all of them to show at the top-right corner.Is there a Application setting that I can do this with? Or do I have to do this at the component level.
I would like to be able to specify the placement of a legend for a linechart. Currently, it continues to appear to the right of the chart. I have tried playing with the width/height of the chart to no avail... Putting the legend before the linechart in the mxml causes it to appear to the left. I can't seem to get it appear at the bottom though. I can't seem to find any good examples for this. They don't seem to specify anything but the legend usually shows up below the chart, I can't seem to do it.
I have a buttonbar that has 3 buttons. I'm trying to set a tooltip for each of the buttons, but not sure where. The ButtonBar itself has a skin, which in turn includes a skin for each of the buttons.
I have a nice looking fxg button, to which I want to attach a tooltip- how do I achieve that without much hassle? (the spark button does this out-of-box, but is not very visually pleasing)The examples I have seen on search is reverse- using fxg effects in the tooltip.
I got struck with tooltip position as well as style. I used string validator to perform validation. Error tooltip is coming right hand side by default. I want to change it on top of the text field as well as its clolor also. but I just want it to perform with every tooltip not with any specific one.
I'm having trouble changing the font size of my TextInput tooltip. The text input looks like this:
<s:TextInput id="first" toolTip="Hello"/>
then I create a style like this:
<fx:Style> @namespace s "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"; @namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo";
[Code]....
P.S. I also get a yellow warning: "CSS type selectors are not supported in components: 'mx.controls.ToolTip'" but it still compiles since it's just a warning, but nothing happens.
I'm displaying a list of buttons, some of which might be disabled. I need to show a tooltip on the disabled buttons with an explanation of why it's disabled, but it seems I can't disable the button without disabling the tooltip. Is there a simple way around this?
I have an AIR app that I have developed for a client.It has a system tray icon with the company name, app name etc, displayed in a tooltip.This all works very simply except that the client in question has a & in their name.No matter how I encode this, it never seems to get displayed.
I have a chart with 2 line series in it.So, "Jan" (x-axis point) will have 2 Y-axis pointsThe problem :Is there anyway to force flex to show tooltip on both series simultaneously?
I have an ArrayCollection that's acting as the data provider for a tilelist (called favoriteLinksList) I use an itemRenderer called FavoriteItem as the tilelist's itemRenderer. This FavoriteItem looks like this:
I have a button in a flex project and I want to add the picture inside the tooltip of the button, I try to extends ToolTipBorder and then use the borderSkin, however, it did not work.
[code]I want a specific toolTip for "icon". I have read about using HTML and rollOver and rollOut but I'm building this as part of a larger text block; it's difficult to switch from incremental objects to HTML in the middle.If I cannot set an event on the icon, can I create an HTML bit in ActionScript as part (but not all) of a paragraph ?
Is it possible to set a tooltip just on the header of a spark datagrid. I do not want any tooltips on the data - just the header. I have played with mouse over and this sort of looks like it might work. This seems a bit of a hack to me though.
I've got a simple text input which I want to use the errorstring tooltip on, ie. when you assign a value to errorstring it colours the textinput red and shows an error tooltip when you hover the mouse over it.
This all works fine, but there is a long delay (maybe 10 seconds) between when the mouse is over the offending textinput and when the tooltip appears. Does anyone know how to influence this delay? I've had a good look around, but can't find anything.
I have a form with a TextInput that has a custom Validator. I call the Validator logic and handle the result programmatically. This all works fine, except for one problem. The TextInput gets highlighted when it is invalid, but the toolTip that contains the errorMsg does not display until I roll the mouse cursor over the TextInput. Is there anyway to get the toolTip to show programmatically?
I have a tooltip for each datagrid row. Which is fine. I also can style it with with mx:Style which is great.However, I desire to have multiple styles ie a header and the rest of the text in the tooltip.
How to style parts of the tooltip e.g. bold? I'm generating a tooltip in an itemrenderer for an datagrid, displaying the column name and then the value: I want to display the value bold...
public override function set data(value:Object):void { var dg:DataGrid = this.listData.owner as DataGrid;[code].....
I'm creating an errorTip that gets displayed when the user mouses over an image. I would like the popup to appear to the left of the image, but the only properties I can pass to create the toolTip are "errorTipRight", "errorTipAbove" and "errorTipBelow".
Within my component, I'm drawing some rectangles as below:
[Code]...
I need to display a custom tooltip for each rectange when the mouse cursor is hovering over it.
How can I do this? I'm using the MouseMove event to track when the cursor moves over these coordinates (that part is working), but when I change the tooltip text it's not refreshing
private function this_MOUSE_MOVE(event:MouseEvent):void
[code]...
EDIT: The problem seems to be with the following line:
ToolTipManager.destroyToolTip(_myToolTip);
If I comment out the preceding line, it will display the new tooltip, but it will keep creating new ones and the old ones never get removed. But if I add that line, it doesn't add any tooltips! Is the code not being executed sequentially, i.e., is the code to remove the tooltip somehow getting executed after the code to add the tooltip?
I have tooltips in flex but when a component is clicked the tooltip disappears and the user has to move mouse out of the control and then back into the control to display the tooltip. Is there a way to prevent the tooltip from getting destroyed on mouse click. I tried calling e.stopImmediatePropagation(); e.preventDefault(); on mouse click event of button. also tried handling and preventing tooltipEnd and tooltipHide events but they are not fire when the button is clicked.
I have a advanced data grid with columns as status, enabled, owner, name. I will get data for status as 'applicable' or 'success' or 'failure' . When the status is coming as 'applicable', i have to show the tool tip when move the mouse over there.
I am using a custom advanced auto-complete component. Selected items do not have a tooltip by default, but I would like to use the label as my tooltip. The arraylist allQuestions is the dataprovider to my component.
[Code]...
allQuestions.questionText should is the path to my desired label. I have looked into using events, such as event.currentTarget, but I dont think they exist for tooltips. how to add a tooltip using the data provided to the component?
How can we customize the background and font color of a single instance of a tooltip for one component? (Without changing all tooltips in the application.)
This is needed for the HALO component set (4.1 SDK), not Spark (css methods preferred).
