I need to convert a wmv to flv. I have heard that if you just use Flash import video it will cause the filesize to increase. What is the best way to convert?I have looked at lots of software both pc and mac (i prefer mac) but they all seem to be costly. Are there any free solutions?
I've got a website where the users can upload avi's, mpgs etc and I want to convert them to flash on the fly on my hosts server. Do I need special software to do this or can I do it using PHP?
Lastly, I look at facebook and the quality of their video conversion is really good. Does anyone know if they are using flash video? I know that youtube does and not really that impressed with their quality.
I ask google about this, but didn't find anything usefull. Is there a way to creat web app in flex that will convert video to flv, after that video is uploaded to the server? Can this be done with flex,if can,do I still need to install ffmpeg on server?
I'm trying to convert some flv files to swf so I can place them on my online course. I'm working with Flash CS4. This is what I have done so far.
1) I embedded the flv files into a new project. 2) And then I just exported the file as a movie.
This worked well but only to an extent. There is about 10 seconds worth of dead time at the start of some of my videos, and they automatically loop themselves, when the loop feature is not on.
I have created a slideshow in flash 8 for my website, though the file needs to be a .flv. I've read lots of similar posts, tried some trial versions of converters and .swf decompilers, and it seems that you either need to buy a converter, or buy quicktime pro to achieve this. I'm just wondering if there are any alternatives, or if perhaps some kind fellow out there would be willing to convert it for me? The .swf file is attached, if any passing samaritan is feeling charitable.
I currently finished one video i was making on flash. It is for one tv commercial so i need to convert it from swf to hdtv video file 16:9. I'm currently using winavi but i'm not completely satisfied by the result
If I create a .swf video and then embed it in my webiste the video doesn't play. The placeholder for the flash player is blank on the screen. But if I load a .swf file that is a slideshow or has animation then it plays in the flash player just fine. I am creating in an ASP.net environment using Visual Studio 2008. I have tried everything. I've published using Flash CS4, I've tried using the SWFObject, I ve tried javascript and its all the same. Videos just don't play but any other .swf file will.
What I want to do is inserting and ad inside a flv video in my website, such as youtube is doing early, or insert a publicity video BEFORE the real one begins, without letting the possibility of quiting the ad. It has to be called apart by code, and I don't really know if it's possible.
So, I'm working on my portfolio, and I'm basically learning how to code as I go. Unfortunately, an essential element of my site is coded in AS 2.0 (a 3D carousel effect), and I'm really having trouble converting it to AS 3.0 (I'd keep it as 2.0, but 3.0 shows so much more promise for future expansion).[code]
I've spent countless hours looking for a simple, easy to use solution to convert WMV files over to FLV, and I'm having a hell of a time. The "wmv to flv" market seems to be cornered by sleazy companies promising "easy" solutions with software that either costs money and isn't guaranteed to work, or is offered free with loads of spyware. That aside, I've heard about ffmpeg and attempted to look at the documentation, only to feel a bit overwhelmed simply because it seems like they've written it for people who already work with that sort of thing (from command line).
I'm just wondering if there's a solution that anyone is aware of that a) doesn't cost money, or if it does, at least provides a non-spyware/malware/virus loaded test version to verify that the program actually does what it's supposed to do, and b) doesn't require some sort of contextual knowledge of linux or command line scripting in order to run a simple conversion.
What I'm asking is, as a user starting with a single .wmv file, how would I, from start to finish, get it into an .flv format?
I'm a senior in High School and I need to send in animations on a DVD for some of the colleges I'm applying to. The thing is, I have no clue how to get my flash animations onto a DVD.I have Flash MX, and I have been told to go to publish settings > convert in Flash 5 mode and to choose quicktime on the publishing list. But so far, this doesn't make a real video- it seems to still be a flash movie.
So please, how do I convert flash movies to video? And then to DVD. What free programs can make a full quality convertion? It goes without saying I need to get this done before a deadline,
When i import a video into my flash document i choose one of the premade skins in flash and when im in the design view i can see it. However when i publish the file as a swf or .exe the skin either disapears or just doesn't work.I have managed to get a skin that stays when i publish however the play, rewind and fast forward buttons don't work. However the seek and volume ones do. Im am currently using flash cs4 and actionscript 2
I have a 3.5MB SWF that points to ~80 FLVs that range in size from 3MB to 10MB.
Is there a way I can package all of these files into one ~500MB file that can be run locally? My client wants sales people to take this app around with them on their laptops and not require the internet and I don't want them to have 100 files to mess with.
I am working on a site that is intended to stream two or more flv simultaneously. The slightly different header clip should renew on entry to each page. When I publish the fla file it plays as intended. When I upload the swf file to the web only one of the videos are playing back. It does not matter if I import the video to a timeline, or stream it progressively from the server. Both clips are uploaded.
im getting really frustrated because i can not watch any of the NHL videos on [url]......i have the latest FLASH plugin but i just get a black screen when trying to view a video. Im running vista.
I'm using CS3 to try to put two .flv videos on the same .swf page, BUT only one will go full screen no matter which video skin button to go fullscreen I press, and all the rest of the buttons on the skin work for the appropriate video. I recall in Actionscript 2.0, in the component settings for the video you could change the field name in the schema to play multiple videos in a .swf file, wondered if AS3 had similar setting for fullscreen.
Any software to convert .mov and mp4 videos to flash? I have adobe video encoder cs4 which people swear by from articles I read, however I do not see where I can add a player nor add a thumbnail for the first frame. I need something that will produce high quality videos and give me the option to select the thumbnail shot and player selection while not being overly expensive.
I have four flv videos (video1.flv, video2.flv,video3.flv and video4.flv) and I want to play them one after the other. When video4.flv is finished I need the movie to start playing video1.flv again and the rest after it, an endless loop. How can I do that? I'm using CS3 ,AS2 and Flash Player 9.
We would like to display flash video files (tutorials) on our Sharepoint site.Problem is, we cannot seem to either stop it from auto-playing (using the Windows Media Player) or start it playing by clicking (using flash embed). We have a Content Editor WebPart with this code currently:
I have some FLV videos was to play on web (play in a flash player, e.g. JWPlayer). How can I protect it? I do not want someone else to download these videos. The videos was high secret! Only allow play on my website.
I want to create a website displaying grid-sorted videos (interviews - movies showed in rows and columns). I want it to be 'a page with talking heads'. When users clicks on a video it starts playing. I consider two ways:
The whole website made in flash - dynamically assigned number of videos per row/column and page, depending on the user's screen resolution. Website made in php/html with help of JS and CSS - videos are displayed by YouTube player or other player e.g. JW Player - videos position depends on screen resolution.
I have Adobe Flash CS5 but haven't a clue how to convert videos. I also got out my install disks and added Adobe After Effects with Media Encoder as well. Though I thought there would be a standalone Media Encoder app... I cannot seem to find it.
I am using IE 7.0. i want to keep flv files from youtube on my computer so I copy them from IE cache. Unfortunately, it seems that for some videos, the files are not available.
been looking everywhere for a tutorial but i cant find any. I am making myself a website where i will be putting my animation work, including my showreel. I need to find a way how to put the showreel into the website, the website is being done using flash.does anyone know how to add .swf videos in flash??
I had to reinstall my flash cs3. I have downloaded all the updates. But applications I made prior to my reinstall that were playing mp4 videos will no longer work. I keep getting an error in the output window:VideoError: 1005: Invalid xml: URL: "dave boushey video reel_1mb_768k.mp4" No root node found; if url is for an flv it must have .flv extension and take no parametersat
