I've created a form in Flash 8. I want the form to be emailed to a certain address after the user completes the form. I was hoping to use a submit button to send it. However I'm not figuring it out. I've made the form but when I select submit I just get a blank email form with the TO address I want and none of the data.I don't want this data recorded in a database just sent plain to a group mailbox.
View 2 RepliesIf a user makes a number of selections from visual indicators on frame 1 of a Flash 8 file and textual descriptions of those selections are then actionscripted into dynamic text boxes as text values in a form on frame 2, can the text values of the dynamic text boxes be given variable names that can be sent to and processed by a server-side PHP script as regular input type text box variables would be processed?
Example: User selects 3 images on frame 1 via a mouse on(release) event.

Would this work? All indications I have seen through many Flash/PHP email tutorials indicate not using dynamic text boxes but components like combo boxes etc use variables and not input boxes.
make a Flash contact form and send the data in an email without using a PHP script? My server does not support PHP... How would I go about sending an email from flash using a different language?
View 5 RepliesI created a flash invite for a client and cannot get it to deliver correctly through email. I've tried everything that I have found here and it won't show up in some of the emails that I have tested. (mine is the only one that works). I then tried exporting the flash to a gif but the quality is really poor. Any way to correct that?? I can't believe that this so complicated. Is there a piece of code that I am missing? Can this even be done successfully? The last animated invite I did was in photoshop and was nearly as complicated as this one and didn't want to mess with it.

after the user finishes, convert the jewelry_mc into a Bitmap, send the bitmapdata byte array to PHP, then on the php side turn the Byte array back into an actual image and mail it in the confirmation page to the user.

View 2 RepliesOk, basically so when you click my movieclip button called "Email" it opens ur browser, and emails the message you put in the input box called "email_text", with the title you put in the input box called "email_title".I know php, and html, and other languages, is there a way to use PHP in flash? or have the php in a document and call a function in that php document and email it?
IE

thats not proper php code, but an example and in flash open that php file and call it?
I wish users to be able to email me files. I know AS3 you can upload files (PDFs up to 25Mb). Is the best way to:1. Upload the file in flash, and get PHP to then directly email it to me2. Upload the file in flash, get PHP to save the file on a server, then email it to me3. Upload the file in flash, get PHP to save the file on a server, then email a link to me for me to download If it saves the file on the server (options 2 and 3), what happens about deleting the files as after a while they will take up lots of space.

View 8 RepliesI have a super involved and somewhat silly site I've been working on for a long time piecing together fragments of AS2 code and modifying them to the best of my limited ability.The site is here:http:[url]....I am finally adding the last steps, a series of contact forms with a PHP script in the back end. Anyway, I implemented a form script and have it triggered by clicking the "CONTACT" button you can see on the lower bar. So, click contact and once the form opens (an external SWF loaded into an MC), type away and everything works fine unless you use the letter "f" in either upper or lowercase. It causes the screen to flash and for the form input to lose focus.It works (in that you can enter everything normally -- the form doesn't function, but that's just the PHP which I have yet to edit.)

View 2 RepliesI am having some issues with a php email form that I am using in my AS3 project. the form works perfect and all communication is good.however when the user is on the page and wants to tab to the next text field it jumps to one of my hyperlinks on the same page and not to the next text field down on the php form.

I have only two fields Name and Email in a Order form and a PayPal button for payment at PayPal ( into my account).I can do the mail portion but have no idea about PayPal code, however on search here I found one code and after pasting this one to the PayPal button it redirects to my PayPal account.But the question is anybody can post a message and leave the site without paying me. I'm struggling to get the form to to go to a new frame once the form button has been submitted. [URL]Using ActionScript 2.0 The submit button is at this following path:

The next from frame that i'm asking it to go to, is directly after the txt8 MovieClip. Both the the txt8 MovieClip and NextFrame have stop(); code on them.The form submits all the info into the database, I just can't get it to load the next frame.

I have an HTML form that I want to upload to MySQL with PHP. That part's easy, but the thing is I want the submit button to be a Flash object. Somehow I need the Flash button to submit the form, but I think I can figure that out. The tricky part is that I need it to set another PHP variable before submitting the form. The variable will be determined by a bunch of stuff, but I can code that in actionscript later. I just need to figure out how to pass the variable back to the webpage. A $_POST variable would probably be fine.
edit: What if the flash object returned some javascript and set a variable that way? making it submit the form as well while still catching a variable?
I have always wondered this functionality but would like to know what your approach is for this task:
Lets say a project requires three forms screens:
Screen 1 is user info
Screen 2 is product Survey
Screen 3 is Contact info
All three forms will be generated on runtime. So the application cycles starts with Screen 1 which has the usual user info fields such: First Name, Last Name, Email and until user fills in all three fields, application will now allow the user to go on the screen 2.
I have only dealth with one screen form and have never programmed a segmented form. I usually declare a BOOLEAN and set it to false and after making sure that all the fields are filled then the BOOLEAN Value is set to true and user is able to submit the form.
Now having to deal with 3 different forms, how do you handle such situation. Does one need to set Boolean value to false for each screen when the screen is initialized or loaded first?
I have noticed two differences between spark and mx forms which are causing me some problems. It seems by default the mx forms are arranged to the label is above the form input item. In Spark they are arranged next to each other. Also the label in spark forms are bold by default.For example MX code could be

I wanted to create a simple flash contact form for my flash website. I went through Lee's tutorial on how to create the contact form and PHP file to go with it. I've uploaded everything to my server and tested the form. My flash form consists of Name, Subject, Message, and Email fields. When I receive the email all that comes through is this with none of the actual message that was written IN the contact form:
Name: Subject: Message: Email: The 'From' field is also blank. I don't know if my problem is with flash, my PHP code, or with my server. Can someone take a look at this and tell me what's wrong? I can't seem to find any errors from Lee's tutorial with my code or labeling.
