I have a table "template" which is used in various "instances". All instances have checkboxes in the second column (for record-delete).
What would be the most effective way of traversing the table and check if at least one checkbox is selected (to enable a "delete" button)?

width="100%"horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
I have the minWidth set on all of the DataGridColumns and the width set on one of them. If I simply maximize/minimize the display (in browser or stand-alone flash player) of the application, the columns scale up and down nicely. But if you grab the edge of the application and drag it to make it bigger, only one column grows really big. When you drag the size down again, the one column remains big, but all of the other columns get squished way down.
I am looking into achieving below two features in a flex grid( or advanced grid).
1. merge column headers ( as in group just the cells in the header row ).
2. add multiple ( say 2 ) headers to the grid.
Updated question: Is there a way to sort dynamic texts based on the variable (or simple value) they represent? Old dribble: I'm looking for some pointers for a problem with making a table. It may be that I have started off in the wrong direction - anyways, I'm stuck now. The .png displays my objects, and how they are connected/grouped. The highlighted (red) shows the variable containing the points.
The pink with the most points should be displayed higher than the rest, and 2nd most points should ofc be 2nd highest. I have tried taking the red variable out of the pink, but I could not think of a way of moving the red variable based on its own value. I'm going to edit the red variables (as the world cup goes on), and there is no need for cookies and such. And if there is a simpler way of doing the setup, let me know. I'm using SwishMax3 (SM2 up till a few days ago, so I'm more used to as2..)
In my flex application im using a datagrid with following columns [code]now i want to disable the checkbox column on fetching data..after datas are populated in datagrid if user selects any of the field in datagrid for editing..the checkbox for that selected row should be enabled...other rows checkbox should be disabled..

Right now I have a form I created that has two columns of input text boxes.When I go to fill in some of the boxes and hit TAB to go to the next box it jumps to the next column to a random box.I say random although it is the same order of boxes every time so its not completely random.how to make the TAB's go in order from one column then to the next.I created the first column, then just selected them all and copy/paste. I would like to fix it with script rather than having to create the boxes over. If I have to I have to. Not a big deal..but I would like to learn how to do it the 'right' way.

I work primarily with PHP using Dreamweaver and have a very basic understanding of JavaScript.I just discovered a really cool script here. The page displays a Flash image map of Africa and a table listing every nation in Africa. If you hover over Kenya on the map, Kenya is highlighted on both the map and the table. Vice versa, if you hover over the word Kenya on the table, Kenya is highlighted on both the table and the map.
I would like to duplicate this on my website. (It's in the public domain.) So I copied the source code, then began recreating the style sheets, JavaScript files and images. When I view the page locally, I see the Flash image (map of Africa). But when I hover over a nation on the map, it says "undefined," rather than showing the name of the nation. The table listing the nations doesn't display at all.
Does anyone have any idea how this affect is created? Can you offer any tips that might help me recreate it on my site? It appears that AJAX is another technology used on the page. That's something else I have no experience with, but I'm not sure if AJAX is associated with the Flash map/table function or not.
