View 2 RepliesExcuse me, I'm afraid I'll show my ignorance here,I'm trying to update my music site, and am happy with the look I get when I preview in IE from Dreamweaver, but when I upload to my site online, IE chokes up and the flash object never shows up, as on the iphone iOS 4.3 safari browser, and Firefox renders the object, but too far too the left.
Basically, when I have href text of various song names in cells on a table with a background image. When a song name is clicked, I'm attempting to have songs from my soundcloud account show up and play in a cell on the table, using an iframe. This is sort of working locally in IE, but nowhere else (see above). The code I grabbed from soundcloud is a flash object with a number of parameters defined that I am not able to utilize in my current method of just using the src="http:samplefile.com" part of the ofject code, not the other object parameters.
I've also tried creating separate html pages that have the full object code and nothing else, and then having my text in my table cells call these html files to show up in the iframe--that's actually working in IE, and though the location is off, in Firefox, but not on an iphone. I'm using Flex 4 and I need to render the data that resembles HTML Table with row span in a Flex component.My inclination was to use a DataGrid but I believe that rowSpan is not supported for that component. I looked at the AdvancedDataGrid but the user does not want to have a tree-structure in any of the columns. Looking to see if there are any hints/tips for modifying the DataGrid or AdvancedDataGrid to produce an "HTML Table with rowspan" look.

I work primarily with PHP using Dreamweaver and have a very basic understanding of JavaScript.I just discovered a really cool script here. The page displays a Flash image map of Africa and a table listing every nation in Africa. If you hover over Kenya on the map, Kenya is highlighted on both the map and the table. Vice versa, if you hover over the word Kenya on the table, Kenya is highlighted on both the table and the map.
I would like to duplicate this on my website. (It's in the public domain.) So I copied the source code, then began recreating the style sheets, JavaScript files and images. When I view the page locally, I see the Flash image (map of Africa). But when I hover over a nation on the map, it says "undefined," rather than showing the name of the nation. The table listing the nations doesn't display at all.
Does anyone have any idea how this affect is created? Can you offer any tips that might help me recreate it on my site? It appears that AJAX is another technology used on the page. That's something else I have no experience with, but I'm not sure if AJAX is associated with the Flash map/table function or not.

And if they don't require an external file they don't have the ability for hyperlinking. My flash site talks to my server and my server sends back the results in xml to flash. Some fields will have hyperlinks using the value of that field to an html application.
