I've been searching it everywhere, but couldn't find anything in the net. I want to make smooth line movement. I've tried to create motion, but line just moves, and I want it to move smoothly according to the path. What I want to achieve can be seen here:

But that's what I did so far - made movement out of several broken lines - how can I make more smooth movement?

I want to make a smooth movement when i click on anywhere in my seek bar. So i come up with an tween which is below. I have a mask called tbMask which is stays beside timeBar.
ActionScript Code:
Code: new mx.transitions.Tween(timeBar, "_xscale", mx.transitions.easing.None.easeOut, 0 , tbMask._xmouse, 2, true);
So basically this would make timebar stretch to tBmask's _xmouse which has same x (170). But it dont! It exceeds about 50% where i clicked and go back to _xmouse.
Far from this problem, the anothers are; I call this swf from my main swf. Tween function works when i try to view my main.swf but it dont work when i call player.swf from browser.
There are two basic ways of panning a view in Flash. One is to move the display object (and use a mask if necessary). The other is to use scrollrect. Today I noticed a small, but annoying effect of scrollrect. Scrollrect's can't have true Numeric positions-- they are automatically snapped to the nearest pixel.
When moving at very slow speeds, the effect is noticeable. In this example you can switch between two modes of panning, sprite movement with mask and scrollrect:
In scrollrect mode, the circles seem to stutter because the scrollrect is snapping to the nearest pixel.found a way to make a scrollrect move smoothly at slow speeds?
I am trying to move an object on keypress. so i am doing
if(keyboardevent.keycode == keycode) { code to move; }
this works perfectly fine, but when i keep the key pressed for a couple of seconds, the motion is not smooth. for the first second the object gets stuck there, and then moves smoothly. same thing happens when i change the key. basically, it is taking time to read the first key event.
why is it so? i dont want this 1 second delay. i want the object motion to be fluent, as i am making a time critical game.
Let me explain - on my upcoming website (in a year, maybe?) i'll have some sort of cartoon character walking above my contents - and I want his charcter to be smooth and actionscripted. However his movements should be done as a curved motion path would, but random.Now random movement will either: a) get you to one point and then to the other, but making a sharp turn or b) have no coordination in movement (good for making a bee fly but not for anything else).here's what im trying to do:
transform straight lines movement (random):
to something smoother
something inside me tells me it's got something to do with cos and sin functions but I've no idea how to make that work.And I don't want to do motion path because I need to do actions that rule that out.
I have the following script in both frame 1 and 2 to let a movieclip move from right to left on the stage: Code: speed =-5 name._x += speed if (name._x<-500) { name._x = 250; } And the clip is indeed moving from right to left on the stage and when it reaches _x -550 it is going back to it's starting position _x 250 only the movement isn't smooth at all. What should I do to make the movement more smooth or should I use a completely different script?
I used to use AS 2.0 but I've finally made the switch to 3.0. I am majoring in CS so I am familiar with basic/intermediate concepts, but I am very unfamiliar with 3.0. I have a movieclip controlled by arrow keys, however the movement is still slightly choppy. Everything is uploaded below, the code I note here is the code for movement located within the .as file.

And I want it to randomly wave like if it was a hair in the wind, or like a snake moving, or even like a flame waving.Is there any way of doing it with actionscript?Is it also possible to make react to the cursor? When I pass through it with the mouse it moves, like if I just touched it.
i have this code i found that smoothly moves a box left or right on the screen based on using the left or right arrow keys. i want to use this smooth code but adjust it so on enterframe, the box would move from point a (say 0,120) to point b (0,240) and stop there.no keys used, just working based on entering the frame.how to modify the code below?
One of my Clients wants a certain type animation on his buttons and he wont budge. here it is. a set of buttons (home - about - products - contact) with a line running parallel to them on top. when you roll over (lets say products) he wants that section of line to bend up and away from mouse. this 'bend' in the line 'unbends' when mouse is completely rolled off the button section but moves along the line if next button is rolled onto. This Isn't all. he says If possible he would like an object (lets say an apple) to move along the down slope of the line bend. however the more i think about this the less it works. so im only worried about the line bend for now. Im still waiting for him to send me an example he saw on another website i will post it as soon as i get.
i'm new to actionscripting so bear with me on this:
i've been using motion tweens to create simple movement animations and i'm looking to reduce the size of my movie - can anyone suggest a simple tutorial on how to achieve a simple left to right movement of a line using actionscritping? [URL]
I am using Flex 4 and AS3 and I am trying to make it so that the user can draw a freehand line with the cursor - I have this part done.However, I also need the line to be a dashed line instead of one solid line like it is now. below is my code I am using. I have found some examples on how to do this, but they are all for straight lines, not for a freehand line.
I am crated tiny code to show text on big font.So, I have created textfield and put in another display container . I also set property of textfield big scaleX and Y. But I got text without smooth. How to make smooth text through as3.test is my class and myText is attribute with TextField Object
Code: var mySprite:MovieClip=new MovieClip(); mySprite.addChild(test.myText);
have three tabs, the rollout and rollover work perfect, I'm using this code to make transition from over and out smooth: On the button:
on (rollOver) { portfolio.goBack = false; portfolio.play();[code]....
MovieClip.prototype.rewind = function () { if (goBack && (_currentframe>1)) {gotoAndStop (_currentframe-1);}};
And on the movie clip:
onClipEvent (enterFrame) { this.rewind(); }
Inside the movie clip, has a bunch of tweens, and on frame one I declare the variable and get the y position of another movie clip (the one that is moving in the tweens) It's instance name is portfolio_graph.On frame 1:
var y_portfolio; // y position of the movie clip that I'm tweening y_portfolio = portfolio_graph._y;
And on frame 51 is where it should go when it's pressed.
Y Starting point hosting_graph._y = y_hosting; // Y Ending point[code]..... W hen I press, it disapears the first time. When I do move my mouse over another button ( each button affects the other two ) portfolio_graph moves to roughly -17 ( eye-balled it ).. actually looking at it again, it looks like its playing from halfway through the animation and in reverse.
I am trying to create a rotating vinyl. I have managed to do this but after every full rotation the vinyl sticks. How can I make the rotation smooth without it sticking. it's a 20 frame movie clip.
I can make an animation so the image fades in.http:[url].... the fade is not smooth. I did this by changing the alpha layer 20% every 5 frames. How can I make the fade smooth?
check this link this ppl just make smooth images animation [url] the images in the back ground "flash" work smooth and nice I try to make the same don't work the image look so stupid what is the way they use to make the image look smooth in motion ?
Can someone show me how to make this sort of photo gallery on flash.[url]...
after clicking on this link, select family and click the link saying 'click to view harshith and amita's family photo'. From this, you will see the photo gallery which i will like to design
I have the idea of scripting animations, placing them inside a function, so then I can recall them whenever I want: Code: function eyesleft(){ eyes._x=0 eyes._x=-100 } one question is I need some kind of delay timer to make the animation smooth, otherwise the animations would be all jumpy. Set interval seems a bit jumpy.
