one question is I need some kind of delay timer to make the animation smooth, otherwise the animations would be all jumpy. Set interval seems a bit jumpy.

View 2 RepliesI have a movieclip that I want to be resized when a button is clicked. I want the animation to be smooth as if it had weight though. I read the tutorial on this but I need something slightly different, I would rather it where I can just refer to a function that is set in another movieclip. That way I could easily refer to it again and just set the height, width, and if possible, x, and y.
And my second question, is how to keep the border of my movieclip that is going to be resized the same thickness. I want the inside to be resized but the sides to stay the same width but move to stay on the edge.

View 3 RepliesI am building a Dutch website where people can search for availble houses tot rent. The website is completly free for every one. But to make some money I have added the possiblity for house owners to put there website in the spotlight in Dutch "uitgelicht" (see : http:[url].....). Now I have the following problem. Not every browser shows it in the correct way and I wanted to change the banner in to a flash banner. So I started out in flash to create a "image belt" like this. But now I want to insert some images from a database and I am stuck.
The Question : Where and how do I tell Flash to insert images from a db. I know PHP but I don't know where to start looking.
how can i give tweening between 2 images (Just like a Shape tweeening )
ie: in 1st frame 1 draw a rectangle shape and 25th frame i draw a circle shape that the time i give a shape tweening means it comes correctly (the shape converts to another shape)

I'm not looking for text box scrolling!! I want the whole 'stage' / 'page' whatever its called to scroll down. I have lots off different content like text, images, animations etc on there so is this possible? I would prefer just two buttons on the side that will scroll the page up and down with as much content as I want on there.

The problem im having is the when the text animates on it tends to stutter and appear jerky whereas I need it to be very smooth.
Ive tried animating the text using basic frame tweening with easing and with various high frame rates.Ive tried various coding methods using tweening classes (both the inherit class within flash and imported 3rd party classes) which seem to improve the animation slightly but still with some random jerkiness.[code]...
I've used Flash before to create animations but it has been a long time. I've been asked to create a very simple animation using two images, one of a broken PC and one of a fixed PC. I want the broken PC to come in from the left and then fade into the fixed image of the PC which will be centred. I know this is very very simple but I can not for the life of me remember how to do animation, motion tweening etc. I have the two images and I've tried importing them, converting them to movie symbols etc but it doesn't go to plan. The animation needs to be between 1 - 3 seconds long at 12 fps. The document size is 550 x 400, standard I believe. I am using Macromedia Flash 8 Professional.

But its not working properly, I just get to see the starting and end point, can't see the movieclip travelling across the stage smoothly as I get to see if I create a simple Classic Tween.

I was wondering how I can make the rectangle move smoothly as in the tutorial where the ball follows the mouse. View 2 RepliesI have dynamic text that needs to animate slowly across the screen but right now it jerks in 1 pixel increments as compared to the vector graphics accompanying it.
I've increased the frame rate, converted it to a bitmap, applied GridFitType, etc., none of which (or my implementation) seemed to work.
Is there a way to achieve smooth animation with dynamic text at slow animation speeds?
