hey you wouldnt know how to make a gif play throught once when you press lets say space. i know the coding for to make button link to the animation but u have to hold it to for it to play throught once i want to make my char do a attack thing and i dont want to use toggle i want to press it like for halfd a sec and see about 2 secs of my char do his attack i have the gif, and i have it stoping at the end of the gif but is there a way to make it so i just have to press not hold?! heres my code

Ok when you press link one it olads great! when i press link 2, it plays the closing animation, but not the entire animation, thats the problem.My closing animation is a red square going from one end to another ( for the hell of it).But you see content number two will load b4 the red square gets all the way across!!

I'm learning flash animation and am wondering once I save the flash file to a dvd format, how does the end-user navigate when they put the dvd into their TV? Do I need to design and incorporate a menu for the end-user? If so, how does the TV remote control navigate through this menu that was created on a Mac computer?

I am designing a very long page. There will be a flash animation at the bottom of the pageI want this animation to play only when the user scrolls down and this flash object comes into view. How do I do this? I am quite familiar with flash and actionscript, so I just need some pointers.I have seen that this is already being used for advertisements. If you visitthere are ads that appear far below on the page. These ads play only when you scroll down and the ad appears within the browser window. This happens on many other sites as well.Many popular sites also use something like this. On CNN, try opening a new tab that loads a flash video. The video begins to play only when you actually go to that tab. Until you open the tab and the contents become visible in your browser window, the video doesn't start. How is this done?

In my original thread my answer was given and I only needed to take the information and tweak it to make it apply throughout other instances in the code.This is marked as answered. The way I constructed the code heBecause each Movie Clip is individually handled, I was explained by Ned Murphy on this forum that I need to insert code for each individual clip to send it back to start when it comes off the stage because it is structured to go to infinity with the movie symbols continuing on their path.I get that. ittle code to add was provided for an example clip that started at the top of the stage and went down, then when it goes off the stage, go back. In this case it was for MovieClip_1 (Out of 15) The red was the additional code (Provided by Ned Murphy who is IMHO a Guru here) that was added :

i havent tried to do this yet but im gonna be getting to it this week so i thought i might get some input on my task. What I would like to do is when my buttons are pressed i want a animation to be triggered... im thinking of using actionscript. gotoAndPlay();? im not sure. its been the gotoAndPlay /gotoAndStop that are confusing me.... If anyone could maybe give me the code i would use or maybe a link to a tutorial on it for FLASH MX!

I'm trying to make about a minute long animation of two koi fish.
1. Fish slowly swim in frame
2. Fish swim in circle a couple times
3. 4 food pellets drop into water
4. Fish eat them one at a time
5. Fish slowly swim out of frame
I've finished step 2, but now I want to go back and do step 1. I've attatched a picture of my koi and I was wondering if there was any way I could flip the image of them and tween them to make it look like the fish were moving their bodies all in flash.

I'm trying to do is use a keyboard event to play a whole movieclip once then stop once the animation sequence is over. However, when I press the corresponding key, all it does is play the animation for as long as the key is held down. What I want it to do is play the whole animation when you press the key just once.This is my code:

If I have 5 links when you are on link 1 and want to go to link 2 can I make it so when you click link 1 it tells it to play a set animation e.g. Movie1 then load link 2 section. But say you on link 1 and want to go to link 3 can you make it play Movie1 then go to link 3. Basically ever time you press a button it plays a set animation first before it goes to that link.

ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

I have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

I have a 9 frames image of a character.In other language generally i used to make character animation by looping the array consisting of different frames and drawing each frame when pressing key.What i want to do is when i press left or right key, i want to draw each frame that makes character movement and update x coordinates of frames, and it will appear as character is moving.

I'm trying to make my platform game character shoot a gun, my character and gun are one movieclip and the bullet is another. The bullet mc starts on a blank frame with a stop() function, when I press the space bar the bullet mc plays from frame 2 which is a motion tween of the bullet quickly moving across the page. I've set the bullet's y and x values relative to the character mc so that the bullet always comes from the gun.
My issue is that if I press the space bar a bullet will fly out of the gun (great!) but if I press the space bar again, the first bullet disappears and the bullet animation starts again. I want to be able to shoot a new bullet every time I press the space bar without effecting the bullets that have already been shot.
