View 1 RepliesI am working a lot with adobe recently but its the first time for flash. i have been searching the net for the past hours but didnt find whatwhat i need is a small animation that records the pen movements i make as a visible path. I want to sketch a logo for a company and want the the logo to look like its being drawn on the spot for the presentation.all i could come up with is make a dot, next frame next dot next frame next dot and so on. but that does not only look like crap it also doesnt seem like the brightest choice to me.

Please provide the feature to disable the system screensaver & power saving features while a video object is currently playing a video. I get this request all the time when developing video players and now that the netflix player provides this feature it is becoming a must have in the online video market. The way I constructed the code heBecause each Movie Clip is individually handled, I was explained by Ned Murphy on this forum that I need to insert code for each individual clip to send it back to start when it comes off the stage because it is structured to go to infinity with the movie symbols continuing on their path.I get that. ittle code to add was provided for an example clip that started at the top of the stage and went down, then when it goes off the stage, go back. In this case it was for MovieClip_1 (Out of 15) The red was the additional code (Provided by Ned Murphy who is IMHO a Guru here) that was added :

I'm trying to make about a minute long animation of two koi fish.
1. Fish slowly swim in frame
2. Fish swim in circle a couple times
3. 4 food pellets drop into water
4. Fish eat them one at a time
5. Fish slowly swim out of frame
I've finished step 2, but now I want to go back and do step 1. I've attatched a picture of my koi and I was wondering if there was any way I could flip the image of them and tween them to make it look like the fish were moving their bodies all in flash.
Currently I am working on a map that will animate the drawing of a line between two points as soon as the user hovers over the end point. A good example of this can be seen on the home page of Jet2.com (the map of Europe).
It seems I am having difficulty with drawing the line dynamically. Of course, just drawing a still line between two points is easy, just use MoveTo() and LineTo(). However, having the line expand in an animation is quite difficult for me.

ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.
View 1 RepliesI have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

I am new to Flash and use Flash MX.I saw a site online that I really enjoyed and would like to make a similar one to it, though I'm not sure what is the best way to do it.The site is http:[url]......html I like how the lines and boxes appear and then the buttons. My question is, what is the best way to do this? I've seen lines and boxes appear and move around on a variety of flash sites, so HOW IS IT DONE? Is it better to create the entire document and have certain sections reveal with a mask or is it better to use tweening to make it look like the lines/boxes are getting longer/bigger? Should action script be used in this sort of thing?
View 7 RepliesOn a horizontal bar, text scrolls from left to right, continuously. The text is a fixed string of city names, and I've made it so that it loops nicely. This horizontal bar with scrolling text is part of a vertical animation, scrolling the bar in and out of view. The vertical tween starts after two seconds. When the vertical tween starts, the horizontal animation has started as well. At the beginning and end of the vertical tween, the horizontal tween starts over. I want it to continu.

I'm trying to make a program that's meant for graphics tablets in AS3. So far I can allow the user to draw a line across the stage so that they know where their moving their pen around. However I want this line to only be temporary, and so the graphics.Clear() method is called to remove it.
I'd like this to look a lot better however, as the line just instantly disappears. Does anyone know how I could add code that makes the line fade out to 0 alpha first before I call the clear command?

I'm new to Flash, but I understadn the basics. Unfortuently, I may have gotten in over my head with this project. I have four years if crime data for my school. I want to make an interactive graph where a user can click a crime, (check box) and that crime's change over four years will appear. (by change I mean how many crimes of that type occurred in the last four years.) I don't know how to do this, mainly because I'm not for sure how to layer the lines on the graph.
