Attached is a FLA file which contain Scroling Text. But the scroll does not show last two paragraphs. I dont understand why. If any body can see this and check what is the problem.
View 2 RepliesI made text box, typed some text, converted it to a movie clip, named etc. Used a purchased and proven scroller component ... followed directions to the letter, including referencing/linking the files. However, when I tried to test the scroll bar .... the scroll bar appears, scrolls and works perfectly except the text does not appear. I have tried making a scroll bar with the UIscrollbar same thing happens. I made an other attempt and put pics along with the text in the movie clip ... this time the pics appeared and scrolled, but the text still would not appear.

I'm using an external CSS to format a textField that has some HTML text in it, let's say something similar to this:
myTextField.htmlText = "<p>paragraph one</p><p>paragraph two</p>";
How can I control the spacing between paragraphs when there is no support for margin-top or margin-bottom? I don't want to add empty <p> or <br /> elements to my text since they don't allow exact control and insert too much space.
I have a message that is sent by mail using Flash and PHP.
The Message is build from 5 textfields, each with one paragraph.
I need to send this message with online between each paragraph. The problem is that I can't add lines to code using code.
how can I do this inside flash?

Using the following code, I push data from an xml file into a classic dynamic text box that is configured to render text as html. For some reason there is an obscene amount of white space between paragraphs. I am not sure why it is there since I have already set it to ignore white space. How would I get rid of it?

Does anyone have any good references to point me towards in regards to creating space between custom tagged items in XML other than the <p> tag? I created some other tagging in CSS such as <paraPop></paraPop> and I tried creating custom tags for spacing alone, but it doesn't work in CS3 like it has in the past with AS2. to load the text. The problem I am having is that I want to use only one txt file to house all of my different paragraphs. I can only get the first message box to display the text. How can I can the others to display the text? I've included sample files.
I want to create a flash site where I have a long horizontal movie clip split into about five sections, each about 960px wide. The effect I want to achieve is when the user clicks on the button it will scroll horizontally to the specific section of the flash project. For example, if your on the home page and you click on the contact the movieclip will tween to the right until it reached the contact section of the long movieclip. And I also want it where if the user clicks on the home it'll scroll back to the home page. I can't seem to accomplish. I tried positioning with the x property and move right so many pixels. I'm thinking about setting like some coordinates or some kinds of reference points so when the button is clicked it will go to those specific points in the stage.

I am still unable to control the vertical space between a closing and an opening <p> tag: txt.htmlText = "<p>First paragraph here.</p><p>Second paragraph here.</p>"; The example above renders with the correct font and letter-spacing, but the space between paragraphs is either two-times too tall if txt.condenseWhite = false or it is too condensed if txt.condenseWhite = true.
Since only margin-left and margin-right are available CSS attributes in AS3, and not margin-top or margin-bottom, I am at a loss.

I am loading a different external SWF into each one using Load External SWF behavior.Although each SWF is a different file, they are exact copies of each other (have exact same functionality); all 3 are text boxes with both scrollbar scrolling and mousewheel scrolling.Problem is, when on the stage at the same time, they all three respond to mousewheel scroll at the same time. I need them each to respond to users' mousewheel scroll only if the mouse is over the respective area (so that way they don't all scroll at the same time).The file was developed for me and the developer is not available at this time.

I wrote a short AS program to create a tileList and it functions fine, but I need to be able to scroll the list of pics according to the position of the mouse with out actually moving the scroll bar.... example of what I mean: the farther to the right mouseX is on stage, the faster my tileList scrolls to the right, if mouseX moves to the left of the stage, so does the scroll bar...Here`s my code so far:

View 3 RepliesI've gotten to chapter 5 in my AS 3.0 classroom book but I need to use wisdom today (CHAPTERS before I gain it for myself),I need to create a custom scroll bar with buttons that function just like the UIScrollBar but more visually suited to our projects. the boss demands it.
I found several tutorials on creating the custom scrollBar, however, they don't include the buttons and I'm unable to find a tutorial on how to create a button scroller (I figured I could link them both to my "info_txt" after creating them separately).

I just made a scroll area with buttons and draggable items. scroll pane loads scroll bars for the movie clip as soon as it loads the movie clip, so there is no scroll bars the movies height and width are one, but after its loaded it changes its size to bigger than the scroll pane, but the scroll bars dont show up because of the size of the movie clip when it was first loaded, can anyone help?

As the scroll pane fills up, it gets wider to accomodate the thumbnailsThere is one row, and eventually, I want to have the user be able to mouse left or right and have the scroll pane scroll, versus clicking on the bar or the left/right arrows. However, in order to accomplish this, I need the scroll bars to disappear!
