View 1 RepliesI have researched the infamous 'Flash hogging keyboard focus' issue, but I believe our issue may involve a workaround that someone else has already come across. I've tried the various solutions I've found on stackoverflow and other sites, which I summarize below.We have a web app, and a particular interface loads several divs that we are using as "tabs". When a user clicks one of the tabs, we hide the current div and un-hide the new one. Our main tab (which is loaded when the page loads) embeds a document from Scribd, which is loaded as a Flash movie. When a user clicks on the Flash movie, they scroll with the mouse/keyboard like normal, and when they click outside of the document control returns as expected.When they navigate to another tab and then return to the original tab and click on the embedded Flash to navigate within it, the embedded Flash steals control of the mouse scroll and won't let it go. The user can click in this document and scroll with the arrow keys and then click out of the document and scroll the parent window with the arrow keys, but mouse scrolling is still bound to the embedded Flash movie. The only remedy is a hard page refresh.[code]This doesn't work -- I can confirm that the element is removed from the DOM, but when it is returned to the DOM it hogs mouse scrolling when clicked just like before.I also tried a similar solution, but instead of removing the element I called [code]

It works fine when testing in the Flash authoring program...but not in the browser.(except In IE...which I found odd).I have looked around in different forums and many people have this problem and explanations on why it doesn't workI believe the problem cannot be solved in Flash...but through JavaScript.

I'm using Flex 4. I'm trying to apply a embedded font in all Alert components of the application, to get the same style that all the app, of course. I code in my CSS file:

The font-family worked to all componentes, but not to the Alert component. In alert the text message and title got unvisible. If I change to other font-family it works correctly, just the embedded font doesn't work on Alert component. Anyone got this problem? Obs: The embedded font worked in all the app, just the Alert no.
If a SWF file or even a component within it has scrollbars, wouldn't it make sense that if the user is hovered over that area (it's in focus) and uses the mouse wheel, that this movement would automatically translate to the scrollbar moving.Any ideas how this is done, the events or classes used for this? I'm open to outside components or classes too. I haven't started yet, but I'll do an item renderer because it's easy to give it scrollbar.

I have a custom class that extends List which I am using as a container. However, the scroll speed is too fast on the mouse wheel, as in it scrolls loads even if you only move the wheel a tiny bit. I tried adding an event listener to my list for MouseEvent.MOUSE_WHEEL and setting the value of event.delta but this has had no effect. Does anyone know how I can make it slower?

When I scroll with my mouse cursor outside of the List, everythink works fine. When I scroll with my mouse cursor over the List, nothing happends.
It looks like the mousewheel event is stopped by the List, even if the List does not have a scrollbar.
So I have that panel or any other mxml component. I want somehow to rotate it around like a wheel of a car with which you drive it... loke a Racing wheel... sow like when mousebutton is down it captures pont of component... when you move mouse component rotates (not moves) according to new mouse position... Within my application I'm using a Scroller component. I can't seem to figure out which event I should set up a listener on in order to know when content is scrolled. I tried Event.CHANGE on Scroller.verticalScrollBar property but apparently that event doesn't fire when the user scrolls with a mouse wheel or arrow keys.

The problem with this code is that it scales from the registration point (0,0). Due to the other transformations I'm doing to this image at various times, it isn't possible to move the registration point. The image is larger than the stage and the user is able to drag it around. I want the mouse wheel to zoom in on the place the mouse is hovering over (or at a minimum...the center of the "view" they have...aka the stage)I tried doing this:

I have a small ux problem with this embedded object: When scrolling the page up or down using the scroll-wheel of the mouse, it stops working when the mouse cursor is hovering over the video. Are there any html / css / param settings that I can modify to avoid this? See the site itself for a working example. I experience the problem both in Windows 7 64bit and Ubuntu 11.10 64bit so far.
I cannot get embed fonts working Everywhere I look it says to do it like I am doing it below, but it doesn't work. I am using FlashDevlop with Flex compiler. There are no error messages. I have tried taking everything out of the Embed directive and adding it in one by one, but no affect.
When I use the system font, it works.
When I use the embedded fonts without setting embedFonts to true, I get TimesRoman.
When I use embedded font with embedFonts to true, I get nothing.

I made a full screen flash site (100% width and height), and I was hoping I could scroll it simply with the wheel, even before clicking on the site. It seems it only works if I click first, then I can scroll as intended. Is there any way to avoid clicking first this? I tried embedding with and without SWFObject 2.2.
I think the root of the problem is that my flash does not have focus, and clicking gives that. Is there any way to give focus to it?

View 1 Repliesive been trying to modify this text drag script to enable it to use the mouse wheel. ive managed to make it scroll with the mouse, but i cant seem to make it limit itself to the boundaries of the mask, like the dragger behaves. it just keeps scrolling upwards or downwards to infinity. i was thinking if there was a way to make it behave like the dragger.here is the script if u want to take a look. at the bottom i added the mousewheel listener and attached it to the dragger, and it works perfectly, but as i said, it doesnt stop like when you click it and drag it.
